Are you saying that the coach shouldn't play the best player they have but play the player that grew up in the school district? If coaches don't win, they get fired. I like Dabo Swinney's take on this. 1 1 Quote

I think a really good coach can be successful in this environment by committing to the kids they recruited. It's hard for me not to root for a guy like that. Swinney isn't going anywhere. 1 Quote

We've seen it firsthand at Sheridan the past few years. Guys that weren't going to get playing time at Westfield or Carmel come in and immediately contribute in a big way at Sheridan. The talent pool is bigger at Large schools, so like someone else noted, so it is far more likely that a kid from a large school has a very real chance of playing at a small school. 1 Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 A lot of bad information out there Be careful what you think is how this works vs how it really will work 1 Quote

Titan32 Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 I do feel there should be, and hopefully will be, some sort of special circumstance rule this first year to allow for current Juniors to take advantage of the new rule. 1 Quote

Will some of the Penn overflow head south to Bremen?? Just seems this would be fitting for kids that live such a distance away from Penn but are in Bremen's back yard!! Penn has lost a bunch to Edwardsburg , MI over the years . Parents looking for the small school atmosphere. 1 Quote

It happens around our area some. Kids that will not step on the field at big schools, leave for small(er) schools where they will get an opportunity to get on the field/court. 1 Quote
rob Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 I've seen multiple coworkers take their kids from EN to CN to get more playing time. One became QB1 at CN. While I've had friends take their kids from CN to EN (who didn't play football) just to get a better education. These people lived within a couple of blocks of the school. Quote
superjay Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Speedway has lost a couple significant players. Not sure how official the transfers are, but they aren’t on the Max Preps roster and X profiles have been changed. Quote

But what if an athlete transfers schools the summer of their Junior year (after the first six semesters)? What is the approval process going to look like? Why is this scenario not covered in anything I have seen? Quote
