A lot of the same names on the football roster that are on the wrestling roster. Alex Demming 1100 yard rusher this year has been a two time state qualifier in wrestling so far in his career. Brant Beck 12 yards short of 1,000 yards rushing this year qualified as a freshman last year. Brady Beck, his brother is a force on the offensive and defensive line he is a two time state qualifier. We usually tell our guys you can join the basketball team or the swim team, but if you don't want to do either of those then you ARE going to wrestle.

The same old Sheridan that can't win any big games? The same old Sheridan that hasn't played in a semistate since 2012? Last years difference. In game one Chatard was undisciplined and inexperienced. In game 2 they were out to prove something. The QB was nearly perfect and the receivers seemed like they were running their routes on air.

I have quite a few connections to Jennings County. Would’ve been nice to see Buening build something there but I don’t think he had the support needed to do so. Luckily, he was able to find some success at Southridge.

No one should ever get SF'd up a class if they HAVEN'T previously won a state title. Requirement to bump should be points AND a title.

I would say the difference is that Seeger is a 2A school that has been 1A until 2019. They've been apart of the WRC since it's inception and weren't a 3A school that joined an entirely 1A conference(in 2017, when SV was let in every school was 1A.) All that being said, winning the WRC is a tough task, and it's not like SV had it handed to them, so hats off to them for running the table and good luck to the Patriots, Falcons and Panthers this weekend! It'd be quite a statement to have 3 WRC teams in the Sectional Championship next week!

Goodbye NIC South. It was fun while it lasted. So long favorable NIC schedule. It was fun while it lasted. Tootles Mishawka rivalry, because you will likely be dropped due playing 7 conference games moving forward. I just checked the Missouri football roster. Not surprised to see star WR Luther Burden the 3rd's hometown listed as St. Louis. It's been pretty common lately for ESL's best football players to be from St. Louis.

Sounds like back in the day with University of Oklahoma's running attack. They wouldn't even allow refs to throw the ball to the sideline between plays and had someone run it over.

Well….truth be told from around 1996-2017, Chatard won 11 Championships and if they threw more than 4 passes a game it was considered an excessive aerial display - unless 45 pitch tosses per game to the RB running between tackles can be considered passing. With that, I’ll admit it’s a lot more entertaining to watch these days.

Can I hear more details about how Tech could “try harder?” Look, when 80+% of your students come from broken/single parent homes, it’s an uphill battle that is damn near impossible without some sort of enrollment advantage (see BD/Warren). You just have to see it to believe it…and you can’t. You can’t even wrap your mind around it. Correct on Saban. Why couldn’t he win consistently at Michigan State? Did they not “try hard enough?” Did he all of a sudden attend a coaching clinic and become a legend once he entered the SEC? Why’d he fail in the NFL?

Ha! We use to say that when my son ran track and CC. We were always in the same invitationals, sectional, regional, and semi-state (now no longer), so we ran against them quite often. Back then we'd have maybe 15 boys and a few more than that on the girls team, Carmel would roll out almost 100 kids for a CC meet. Since only 7 run varsity, that left about 90 kids running the open JV race at every meet. I'd think it would have been frustrating to be able to run less than a 16 minute 5K and never make the varsity, whereas on our boy's team, those kids would have been the top runners.

I think if every player on the Bulldog squad wears those huge shoulder pads with neck rolls, and the Green Tie makes an appearance (with a short-sleeve button down shirt of course), CC has a real chance to just intimidate Part Tudor off of the field.

The only thing that pride did was get you bounced first round of the sectional. And my mama said visors are the devil!

TV has some big kids and a few kids with speed. They played tough in the first quarter. The inability to pass (Int on their first real throw) and a fumble the only time they crossed the fifty (until late in the fourth against the BCHS back up defense) looked like it sapped their emotion. It seemed like the Chatard coaches made some defensive adjustments and I’m not sure if TV had 100 yards of offense until late in the fourth quarter (when the score was already 40-0). Their best RB was apparently in a boot for most of the week and I am sure that had an effect on their performance. On the other side of the ball, Chatard's starting QB was back after a 5 week absence and had to knock some rust off in the first quarter. After he settled down he threw two beautiful touchdown passes. The defense (the strength of this team) got stingy and the offensive line began to wear down the TV defense. They mixed throws and runs very effectively and a team will have to defend sideline to sideline against them as well as vertically. As I have said many times, it will take a very good offensive team to drive a ball the length of the field against this defense. They might give up a big play or two at some point but that will not be the norm. Offensively they have been pretty safe with the ball and haven’t self destructed (like the did against GC last year in the regular season). Look for next week to be BCHS 28-GC 0. Chatard will be entering the game healthy and their #1 RB may actually play (he has been out 6 weeks). Tonight their RB off the future, a freshman, carried the load on the last drive and scored his first varsity TD. This team is deep.

That’s good I can remember standing on chairs getting dressed as it rained inside our locker room.
