Not a fan of legislators stepping in, especially in this case where the IHSAA was likely heading that direction any way.3 points

THANKS. You AND Gonzo could be BEST friends. Better be CAREFUL though. YOUR grammar leaves a lot to be desired. BUT..........you won't have to worry about me correcting YOU, that's a YOU and Gonzo thing. If that's your VALUE to the forum, then KEEP up the good work!2 points

That's a good pickup for both teams. You get the feeling that Pike could be a team on the rise. They're definitely always fast and athletic, and Coach Brevard has done a very nice job putting together a quality young staff. With Crown Point, you get a team that's building itself into a powerhouse up north. Win-Win for both schools (except for the travel).2 points

Nah, I enjoy your posts. Just didn't really understand this one. I agree with @Irishman though. And I think 90% of America would agree. We shouldn't have to listen to a biased announcer, giving his take on a pass interference call, brainwash the rest of America on his point of view. In the end, does it really matter? No, games are won on the field. Outcomes will be remembered more than what some guy on television says. That being said, I do like Herbstreit. I don't like his bias toward Ohio State and never appreciated his bias against Notre Dame. I feel like he's gotten better on both accounts though.2 points

The IHSAA is a private organization the last time I checked. If certain of its members don't like the current transfer rules then they should lobby the IHSAA to change them, not go running to the government.1 point

Makes sense but i will bet there are schools not signing off due to where they would be going and others that falsely moved...... either way this will pass and schools will benefit from it for sure1 point
-
Oh wow so teams that have a kid wanting to transfer could practice during summer and then come July 1st put his official transfer in and no questions asked will be on that teams roster no matter what....or even leave a current school once this passes and come July 1st can for sure play for that school immediately.... this will be hard on some programs and others will benefit from it.1 point

Keeping the education in front of athletics... huh?1 point

Thank Goodness!!! On this one. I ABSOULETY agree with you. Coach Buzea can see the challenges ahead, and Coach Brevard has a program that is coming into its'' own (IMO). This is a good matchup for BOTH schools.1 point

Agree. Why is Neidig working with Legislators rather than just instituting the changes himself at the IHSAA? It doesn't make any sense.1 point

This rule will get abused. Give it time.1 point

Furthermore, there's typically something that goes into these decisions that isn't seen by the public eye. It's easy to criticize from the outside looking in. Sometimes it's just a matter of this staff having a good relationship with that staff and the desire to play other programs that share your values. Buzea's no dummy. In fact, he could make an argument for best coach in the state of Indiana. I'm sure he knew what he was doing when he picked up Pike.1 point

About time! Any other updates or details on this? Heard rumblings but nothing concrete until this.1 point

This is a little hard to fathom, but ND oline improved a little bit with the injuries. Starting OL Charles Jagusah has missed entire season with torn pec but came in for Spindler at G vs PSU and dominated. If Splinder can play look for Jagusah to move to LT.1 point

I know a very high end college football offical who is contracted through the Big 10, he was pretty excited pre bowl/playoff season, he had zero down marks, checked in with him, he was sent to Holiday Bowl He has done national title before1 point

This was same crew that did ND Georgia game and same official with controversial call in that game as I understand it. Hence, why Freeman was pointing at him with sarcastic smile. Flag came from across the field and not from closest officials. Inside Access ND shows it clearly. Pretty frustrating to watch.1 point

Glad CP is playing Indy area teams. Not easy to make schedules work and as stated, only so many 6A options in the state to play. Hopefully. more to come!1 point

I do appreciate the new format of the CFP. The championship game is #7 ND vs #8 Ohio State. Under previous years 4 team format, neither team would have even been in the CFP. Neither team played in a conference championship game. (or course 1 of those teams can't) I do feel this is way better allowing the outcome to be settled on the field.1 point

Irish, you are a true passionate Packer fan! Tough day yesterday. Remember, could be worse...you could be a Colts fan! Or a Bears fan!! (at least Bears have a QB with potential)1 point

I still don't fully understand this point spread stuff, and frankly I don't care to. I have zero interest in betting my hard earned money on a sportsball contest.1 point

Correct thing according to what, The Bully Handbook? That kid didn't have a ride to get to off season workouts, he had to ride the bus to school and he was bullied by the other students for being poor. Now he's being bullied by a coach. That kid had to work a full time job in the off season to both pay for the football fees and to help his family out. Now he's being excluded from the team for missing non-mandatory workouts. This is a bad attitude for a coach to have, hopefully it's never been implemented.1 point

2024-he's no longer coaching. He's not even sure who the coach at North Newton is.1 point

Scenario in Coach Sparty World You are coaching North Newton Spartans, 2023, you show up to August practice with 17 guys on the roster, its time for your 1st team session and you and your staff want finally reps in contact team session, thud, or otherwhise, Johnny did not come to any of Coach Sparty's off season workouts, but he did show up day 1 with is physical and all his paperwork. Johnny goes through the practice and does all the running and all the Coach Sparty individual drill work as assigned by coaches, so its time to get in there as a "Scout" team member, yet per your response, you would go tell that kid to go to the sidelines. I believe I have outline that philosophy correctly, if not what am I missing? Or better yet, said player can allow you 12 players to play a JV game ( yes I have coached JV games with 12, 13, 14 guys before) you go to the game, he is the only kid who did not get a snap in all game, because you know, non mandatory work outs that were missed. I am sure the rest of the team, parents admins would support you in this scenario to prove your point and I am sure that will equate in postiive experience for Coach Sparty team in the future off season workouts.
