I'm all for adding more games to the state championship weekend (see my idea for all of them to be best of 5s) but do we really need to make a whole new class just so nwi has a chance?2 points

Some things to think about as Indiana visits Iowa: 1. IU’s first road game this year. Always a different dynamic playing on the road with 70,000 fans against you. 2. How does Mendoza play? Surely, he can’t continue at the pace he is going, but even if he is pretty good, that should be good enough with all the talent around him. 3. Is the running game sustainable? For me, it all starts up front with the big boys. I think they are for real so while they may not run for 300 yards every week, they are solid in the trenches. 4. Is the defense really that good? They dominated a veteran Illini team with a seasoned QB. Again, it starts with the big boys, and did they put on a show. QB pressure kills and I don’t think the Hawkeyes have the answer. Bottom line, I see the Hoosiers taking control in the 3rd quarter and winning going away. IU wins 38-172 points

Largely a 5A conference, 5A football in this state is the worst class in my opinion. 6A and 1A should be 32 schools and divy the rest of them up.1 point

Kamara switched positions this year. He’s more a strong side end/hybrid LB. He’s no longer terrorizing QB’s from the weak side. He won’t have the same numbers as last year, but he’s graded out extremely high and drawing double teams.1 point

And that’s what is hypocritical about all this nonsense. The same group that picked Illinois to beat Indiana almost unanimously is the same group calling Illinois overrated. It’s also the same group that rated Illinois that high to begin with. How can you call a team that you rated, overrated? Pick a lane lol.1 point

What do Carmel, Warren Central, Ben Davis, Westfield, Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Noblesville, New Pal, and Decatur Central all have in common?1 point

The same size issues at the top of 6A are at the bottom of 1A. I'm a fan of making the top and bottom classes the same size and then dividing everything else up evenly. .....and no p/p in 1A😁1 point

Nope, sure don't. Just have 6A as sixteen teams. then just spread the rest out over the other 5 classes.1 point

Their best chance to get that 3rd win is at Northwestern. I really don’t see another possible won on their schedule…1 point

I think it’s true for New Albany at least. It’s not the worst East team ever. 1997 and 1998 were the darkest of days.1 point

Lack of P4 experience, yet he was an assistant to Saban at Bama. Sure glad they saw it that way. Starting to see "experts" talking about Cig at Florida and perhaps Bama. Hope that is just hot air and he loves Btown.1 point

I am with you: IOWA is a prideful program and playing at home is always tough, but Coach Cig has proven his teams are tough minded. I think something 24-17/21 goes to IU in the end, but would not surprise me that Iowa Covered if not won outright just because of factors listed. If IU execution is from Illinois they cover, if its from Old Dominon then going to be a dog fight1 point

The D line really got my attention...7 sacks against Illinois...by 5 different players....none being Kamara. I am not sure if he has a sack this season. Guessing he's drawing his share of attention, which is opening it up for others and they are taking advantage. This game will give them the experience of playing in a very noisy and hostile environment....they will use for the first time silent counts....and that is needed with Iowa, Oregon and Penn State all coming up.1 point

Saw something over the weekend: Cincicnatti chose to not hire Coach Cig citing lack of P4 experience and hired a perrenial .500 coach.........1 point

A bigger factor than travel is wether or not his girlfriend was chatting with some other guy on social media that day or if the girl he has a crush on is dating someone else and won’t let him side into her DM’s. There are so many things that affect the mindset of a teenager on any given day. The mind of a teenage boy is the number one variable in the success of the team.1 point

So we are clear, I wasn't really referring to the lack of dental hygiene in Gibson Co, it would be foolish for anyone in my location to cast those stones. I was having more of an introspective look. Big German women...see there, we can find common ground. It is almost like we are simpatico. We should gather for tailgate Friday night and sing Kumbaya, and then go watch our communities murder each other.1 point

If you guys don’t win by 21+ then it’s not a result of us being good. It’s a result of Floyd Central playing down to their competition.1 point

I've always said it' a good thing that royal blue and salon blonde go so good together. You guys have hardy German women with child bearing hips like us....thank god for the dentist in town....hmmmm.....or not. 🤣1 point

This was always going to be the narrative. Last year it was, “their schedule was weak, beat a ranked team”. Indiana proceeds to beat a ranked team (a top 10 team at that one that is still ranked) and the narrative shifts to “Illinois was overrated” or “Illinois was injured”. The narratives are going to keep changing as IU continues to get better and better. If IU was an SEC team or any other name brand program, they’d be the #1 team in the country right now after that performance. There are certain media groups and fans of certain fan bases that simply cannot handle the rise of Indiana’s program. Just going to have to accept that. Makes it all the more sweeter.1 point

the idea that an 18 year old kid plays exactly the same after a multi hour bus ride, as he would on his home field makes so little sense that I have to believe that the study you're referencing is inherently flawed.1 point

I have no real dog in the fight, but wow that's a lot of disdain for them lol. They passed for almost 400 yards on Chatard's defense, I don't know how that doesn't impress you. While I agree that Merrillville is probably better, Jeff was up like 34-7 against Michigan City at halftime, it wasn't a close game. If you want to use the transitive property, Plainfield squeaked out a 7 point home win over Harrison while Jeff beat them by 21 and you have Plainfield above them. They must have been pretty overrated when they beat undefeated Crown Point by double digits on the road in sectionals a couple years ago as well1 point
