  1. Forever. That's something to be proud of in my opinion.

  2. Forever. Milan has a sign and a water tower celebrating their 1954 boys basketball state championship. Wingate still has a sign up celebrating their 1913 and 1914 boys basketball state championships. Those towns will celebrate that forever and I have no problem if other cities or towns want to celebrate the accomplishments of their local high school(s) forever too.

  4. Anyone doubting the impact of socioeconomics is either lost or is purposely leaving their head in the sand. I’ll once again repeat the line that I have stated on this forum for years… “If you’re going to be at a socioeconomic disadvantage, you better have an enrollment advantage.”

  5. Westfield trailed Carmel in the 4th by just 10, and had the ball near the Carmel red zone when they turned it over. Carmel went right down and scored a touchdown, and added another one late in the game. So I would not call that game a blowout. If they meet again in the sectional, and especially if the game is at Westfield, there could be a different outcome.

  6. WC at LN if you're feeling frisky, Cathedral at Center Grove if you aren't. I know you said 4A or higher preferably but Indian Creek at Triton Central should be fun. 1A #1 South Putnam is at 4A 5-1 Northview, and that should be an interesting matchup. Other good ones Bloomington South at Columbus North Chatard at Harrison (WL) Delta at Pendleton Heights Westfield at Avon Couple of good ones way up north SAC Rivalry week has Homestead at Carroll, Snider and Throp in the last shared game at Spuller, Battle of the Bishops and the Totem Pole game. Warsaw at Mishawaka Couple of games of consequence down south Reitz at Memorial Castle at Jasper BNL at Floyd Central for the Hoosier Hills title

  8. Forever! I like how some OH places have championships on the left & runner ups on the right. Heck I'd put up any for any extra curricular activities. Put those FFA, band, dance/cheer, and etc up. Have a 4H state fair Grand champ, put a sign in their yard. I'm all about celebrating the success of our communities in many facets.

  11. I'm not sure if you have a tv provider or just utilize over the air, but I'm a big fan of the NFL Redzone channel. They supposedly only show games when someone is in the red zone, but yesterday they were showing what seems like almost a complete game. Sometimes 3 games were onscreen at the same time.

  17. I might add that the Bloomington North freshman team had a home game this past weekend with the Jeffersonville freshmen and for whatever reason that game was canceled and I assume it's because they don't have a freshman team. Bloom. North substituted a game with the Bloom. South freshmen and I haven't seen the results of that game. Frozen Tundra indicated that there were only two teams fielding freshmen teams and that was East and FC. Jeffersonville is another 6A team with a big enrollment that should be able to field a freshman team.

  20. I agree this is a catch. But my focus is on finding out why we didn’t get it right. The streamed clip I saw did not show the back judge, and this was his call 100%. I looked at the Hudl video, which does show a wide view. The back judge is in trouble right away because of his initial position. He is head up on the football ... which is all the way on the left hash. To compound the problem, the formation is strong -- with trips, no less -- to the linesman’s side. The back judge’s initial key in this formation is the widest receiver in the trips, so he needed to line up accordingly. B should at least be in the middle of the field in this situation. Instead, he is running along the end line trying to close on the play when he has to make the critical call. On a bang bang play like that, you want to be stationary when you’re processing what you see. See, those mechanics rules do serve a purpose. 😉

  21. Maybe it's just me and my youth that's able to point and click and find data to prove a point. The King is 45-54 in his last 99 games in 10 seasons at FC and Seeger,, 4.5 wins per year. That's a .454 winning percentage. The previous schools from the same time frame (4 years at FC and 6 at Seeger) had a combined record of 35-63 in 10 total seasons prior to The King. That's a winning percentage of .357 or 3.5 wins per year. The Prince is right. When the King takes over a "bad" program, he does get them moving in the right directions and averages 1 more win per year over a 10-year period. Comparably, Coach Sanders took over an RP program that won FOUR games in six years. Since then, he's averaged over 5 wins per year and 8 wins in three of the last four. Continuing, Brian Moore took over a PH program that combined two of the worst (by recent history) schools in the state. Together, Rockville and Turkey Run avg 3 wins per year in the six prior. Moore started the PH program and averaged 8+ wins per year during his four years. Additionally, let's look at Crabtree - the six years prior to him taking over NV, they averaged 5 wins per year. The next six years, he averaged 10+ wins per year and a state title. Stats don't lie and they don't have feelings. And luckily I've just old enough I can pay for the internet to research any and all claims.

  23. Sounds to me like the the qualifications for the free lunch program has gone down in the last twenty years. I can't imagine that the demographic makeup of Warren Central has changed THAT much in twenty years. Regardless, I think Wright would have a state champion within two years with the current landscape at WC.

  29. BINGO!!! It is so so good !!! Especially when they have 2 MNF games that means one less game in the afternoon late window, when that happens, you see WAY more on the Red Zone then you do in the Early slate because only 2 or 3 games on. Well worth the extra $10 a month on youtube tv for the "sports package". The Horse channel is important too 🙂 He was, then THEO went from RT to LT and OZZIE in at RT Line calmed down after that

  34. Seymour had planned on a frosh team and apparently had enough upperclassmen opt out at the end of summer. Not sure what the circumstances were. Seymour’s JV is essentially a frosh team and beat a “C” team from FC. I think if Seymour can keep these kids they currently have getting their asses kicked every Friday around for a couple more years, with what’s coming along, I think they’ll be alright. 8th grade class is undefeated tri-co champs, 7th grade has gotten better as the year has progressed. Purely outsider looking in, just what I see on the field. Also, BNL OL may be the BEST JV OL I’ve ever seen.

  36. I’m just discouraged with how many programs are struggling, especially in football. Seems like numbers and interest have really dwindled over the last 10-15 years and I think it’s hurting the sport overall. I also think there’s becoming a bigger separation between the haves and have-nots. I’d like to see more programs thrive even if they aren’t winning. Just stinks to see.

  42. I would comfortably bet on Jeff to beat either of those teams, no disrespect to either. I don't think you're giving them the credit they deserve And I bet most people are considering Chatard the 4a favorite over HH. I don't know where you came up with that

  45. Just a heads up but I won’t be counting this week’s pick ‘em because there wasn’t enough time for everyone to get their picks in. I knew it was a long shot but only six of the eight remaining in the competition were able to submit theirs. 7-8 hours wasn’t enough time, especially given the site was down most of the week and those two might not have been aware it was back up. If, for any reason, those two miss a week going forward then I will go back and tabulate the week 6 picks as part of our scores.
