  1. If Reid had a real spine he should have benched Kelce for at least the remainder of the 1st half, maybe longer. There is no excuse for that kind of tantrum by a grown man and professional athlete.

  5. It was an outstanding football game. Much better than most Super Bowls. The biggest play, as it turned out, was the blocked extra point that would have given the Niners a four point lead. The miss enable the Chiefs to just kick a tying field goal to tie the game. Lots of long field goals and big plays in the 2nd half. None bigger than the 4th down conversion by the Chiefs on the game winning drive. I'm off to the eye clinic to get a shot for my AMD. I have wet AMD in my right eye and have been getting shots for the last few months. My eyesight is improving slowly. Luckily I had cataract surgery at the end of 2022 and my left eye is clear enough for me to see quite well, except for some distortion. Anyway, it's just part of being old.

  6. Yeah, there are only 49 examples to choose from. And that’s just using high schools as templates.

  7. I had some similar class splits, but I hope 1A is the largest class. 1A schools are the most likely to not finish a season due to numbers or to drop their football program. I think 1A should always start with 64 teams. The classes with the largest enrollments have the smallest number of schools, so it would make sense in my opinion for 1A and 2A to have the largest number of schools.

  8. There was an error in the reporting data. The IHSAA still didn’t catch it on the original document they shared, but it has now been corrected. They have an enrollment of 430. Rochester has also been corrected. https://www.ihsaa.org/sites/default/files/documents/2024-25 2025-26 Enrollments.pdf

  10. Well there's a reason Andy Reid has won 3 Super Bowls and everyone here hasn't lol. This is an emotional game played by emotional men. He'd be insane to bench one of the best players on the team because he hurt his feelings. KC doesn't come back in the second half if Reid was as mentally weak as some here.

  11. Every time seeding gets brought up - the naysayers sprout up with these points (how are you going to make it FAIR & logistically WHEN would you have the meetings) ....YOU'RE MISSING THE MOST OBVIOUS POINT - it is 100% better than having two 9-0 teams play 1st round while 1-8 gets to play 2-7!?!? IN WHAT WORLD is that right/fair?!? Give the regular season some form of meaning. Will things be PERFECT?? Of course not....but it is light years better than what we have in place now.

  12. Reid is just another one of those Bro Coaches that are all the rage nowadays. Here's what should have happened:

  14. The other thing that Illinois does is that despite seeding - They still decide home/away the same manner as Indiana. For example, 1 seed hosts 8. 4 seed hosts 5. If 5 beats 4, they would host the 1 in the second round as a round 1 non-host. If 4 wins, then both 1/4 were hosts, so 1 would host because seed is tiebreaker. That might discourage some coach sandbagging to manipulate seeds

  15. If you would say most coaches don't want to drive to 2 schools located on the south side, I would buy that. But they already do it for FC. With I-69 to be open late 2024, they will speed up things big time. Can be at the HS school very quick off the 144 exit and the new access road connecting into Stones Crossing Rd. Perhaps soon when Whiteland becomes 6A (and my guess eventually Franklin), that will lead to a new conference. But its beyond unfortunate what CG is being forced to do in order to get a full schedule for football....and the additional impacts on the CG middle schools for football. Funny how it doesn't seem to impact the other sports, that also play on week nights...... Perhaps if Coach West builds a top program at FC, the Flashes will find themselves looking for a new home......

  16. I do. I also thought about cross class rankings. Such as coaches from sectional 48 ranking 40 and vice versa. The rankings wouldn't directly impact the voters but the teams are in a similar region and should be somewhat familiar with the schools. Nothing will be perfect. Just improve upon what we now have.

  17. There wouldn't be a "good" team left out of a system that cut a 64 team class to 32 at the conclusion of the regular season using a rating system/formula that calculated W-L record, opponent W-L, SOS, and opponent SOS. That I'm sure of. I am a huge proponent of adding a 10th regular season game.

  19. Definitely wouldn't question the kid's abilities based on his commitment to be a D1, Big Ten, Quarterback. I've seen the kid's film and he is darn good. Iowa got a good one for sure! Wish him nothing but the best, as Temp said. Hopefully, for his sake, the new OC will throw it around just a LITTLE more than the about 60/40 split from a year ago (103rd/ 133 in Pass Percentage in 2023). Nothing too crazy, not saying they should turn into Hawaii (65% Pass) or anything but I think throwing it a LITTLE more would make Iowa even more appealing to QB recruits (even WR recruits), like Sullivan and others of his caliber in the future.

  20. Coach Yeoman had the unenviable task of following a legend. It's not easy, but he did a fine job as the head coach of the Kingsmen. Congratulations on a great career, Coach. From all accounts, he's a first-rate human being.

  21. Let's say Saturday morning after week 9, the coaches of the 8 sectionals rank the teams, excluding your own team. Do it via Google Forms. The Forms get sent to the host school that's in charge of the money for the year. Then shared to each AD. Ballots have to be submitted by noon. If you do not submit a ballot, you automatically get seeded last.

  22. More from Trilly Donovan . As you can tell donors still consider IU a blue blood with the same expectations as programs like UK. Until an IU coach finds consistency which is possible at IU donors are clearly gonna continue to pony up buyouts .

  23. Almost fell outta my work chair reading this. 😂 and @BTF, I think (why I'm laughing), ole Temp is just poking some fun at the Hawkeyes and the fact that they operate in 13 personnel and hand the ball off like 40 times a game. So how do you even say to a kid, "hey come play QB for us! It'll be fun!" with a straight face? Idk Temp too well, but I think that's what he was implying (at least that's how I took it and enjoyed it). Lol

  24. Generally not my time of year to post since I’m well between day long Margarita binges, second degree burns and Florida Daytona area racing but just send the post season records my way and I’ll spit out the info needed.

  25. I don’t think so, we have had some kickers who have made 50 yard field goals. I believe there was a kicker with the last name of Lee who did it. Certainly, it was the most clutch field goal kick in Panther history

  27. Sadly what appeared to be a promising night for IO saw Mrs IO say IU sucked in a rather pissy tone and said I’m going to bed…….and here I sit opining to you schleps!

  28. Ok Calpreps, Massey, create your own formula.... Literally every other state has some kind of rating or qualification system that seeds the postseason or counts for inclusion. That's the next step. Once you appropriately seed the sectionals, the need for what is now considered the first round becomes redundant. There will be running clocks in 75-80% of games if and when they seed appropriately. We're getting there....slowly but surely.

  29. We recently had our (Softball) winter clinic and HOF inductions along with Baseball in Indy. This was a hot topic in several discussions…….you’ll forgive me if I take a wait and see attitude…… As @Coach_K pointed out it’s a long process just to get to the point of making the proposal to the committee. And I know this will come as a shock to some of you, but politics and egos come into play as well. And when it comes to a dick measuring contest, the dude who makes the rules usually wins. Z

  30. Amazing run for Penn High Football. Between Coach Geesman and Coach Yeoman they combined for over 500 wins. Best of Luck to Corey in whatever lies ahead.
