SOS and a tough sectional will be too much for any post season run. Putting up great numbers but it’s a heavy 2A schedule

They nearly got past Tri-West last season and returned a lot of talent. You are correct about the schedule concerns, but they did a very good job against Danville beating a good 4A team 41-25.

Offensive line play is not as good as last year. Punt game is poor.

Intelligent bunch, skill guys are tough. Probably could have used one more challenge on the schedule.

Chance (small) to run the table…or lose the opener in a strong sectional.

Only 1 sectional title (1992) in school history…

Do the Cadets have what it takes to go all the way in 3A?

Their win over Danville made a believer out of me.  I think they win their regional before losing to eventual state champion Evansville Memorial in the semi-state.

Cascade won’t be challenged the rest of the regular season.  Webo might give them some resistance but not much.  They should have stayed in the ICC and would now be it the Indiana Legends with Tri-West Monrovia Speedway Etc.  The Monon will not challenge them in football.

you just don't cancel multi year contracts because you have a strong returning group, not remotely realistic

Conference reshuffle helped them recreate better schedule and replace West Central and Edgewood from previous year(s)

Week 1 last few years, Triton Central, then Indian Creek, to now Monrovia ,  pretty good stuff there

Week 2, 3, 4

2 years ago:    Beach Grove , Edgewood, Cloverdale

Last year:  North Mont, Edgewood, West Central

this year:  MONON. CONFERENCE BEGINS:

Monrovia then Danville :   I would say that is an OUTSTANDING start for their only 2 NON CONF games available to them, the rest is conference games.

I opin they did exactly the best they could do for them to schedule teams outside their conference that are realistic in nature in competition.

Cascade has a chance. Their offense is very good and quick hitting and their defense has come a long way too. As for the schedule they are where they need to be right now. Cascade through its history has only had two Era's of winning (more than two seasons in a row with winning records) Moyers and now Simmons. With the schedule as it sits, they will generate year in and year out success which will grow the program even more at the youth level and help them compete in the larger classes down the road. As a Cascade grad (07) I'm glad to see them able to field teams in all sports that can compete.

Cascade looks to be the next recipient of urban sprawl as populations migrate westwards along U.S. 40 from the likes of Plainfield and Avon.

Agree. I have a relative that works for a real estate closing company that primarily deals with that area. She told me several years ago that area west of Plainfield was the next to boom.

Memorial has to get by Gibson Southern first.

MD may have taken a hit tonight when QB left game, helped to sideline and was later wearing sling.

Plainfield is rapidly approaching from the East just like Brownsburg is rapidly approaching Tri-West from the East.

Well, that's been happening. Is there really even a line anymore? I mean, one leads to the other.

What Connor Simmons has done at Cascade is phenomenal. He's a former student of mine, so I've followed his career since he was in college. He's built his program around the weight room and sound fundamentals. That has staying power.

Just bumping this to the top after seeing last Friday's score.

Cascade beats Greencastle in a close one: 98-13.

I'm not Muda or DT, but how in a running clock era can the final score be that lopsided?

77-7 at Half.  From what I understand they played Freshman and they scored.  I also heard they took knees the final 6 or 8 minutes of the 4th.

Thanks.  And I wasn't being critical of Cascade, just curious how a conference game - and I think a relatively new conference? Would have such a mismatch between teams.

Greencastle coach also would not punt in the first half regardless of spot and distance. Guess the feeling was they had a better shot at a first down than stopping Cascade whether Cascade started 20 yards from paydirt or 50.
