T32 wants to keep talking about where teams rank in conferences and stuff...Who cares. A wise coach once told me...."you are remembered by championships" Looks like GS better get to work......5 points

Memorial is playing for an opportunity to represent the south in 4a tomorrow night. How is this "punished" You do not think that the Coaching Staff and continued success of Memorial will continue to translate for years to come? I know some lean years in 2014 and 2015 however that does not look like the norm under Coach Hurley4 points

Word. As I stated earlier, the success factor had ONE goal. It has been achieved. I'm not saying it's right, I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just stating the facts.4 points

The Chatard/Danville talk can stop- it ain’t gonna happen. HH rolls in this one 28-74 points

He’s searching for a missing football team....apparently no one has seen it this year. That’s what my neighbor’s cousin’s neighbor tells me anyway.3 points

I'm not arguing... I am not trying to turn everything into an argument... And some of you dudes want to make an excuse about getting beat pretty handily in Semi State last year. No matter what system is in place there will be someone/school/group of fans that don't like it. Yes, Webo's last 2 years have been successful and they were lucky to split the cycle. No one knew 4 years ago that they would drop down to 2A from 3A based on enrollment.3 points

I'm not a Pats fan.... I just wanted to post my prediction of the game STC style3 points

Stinky, Stink, Stink 1.2.3. I'm just glad at least a public school will have a chance from the South to compete I guess you all should be thankful this coming week, not only for Turkey day but for those "blue Tigers" moving up and able to compete.3 points

This is something we can agree on STC! Also, as for the Sagarin ratings, who cares about that either. Those ratings don’t mean anything when it comes to postseason play. It’s all about winning and moving on to the next week.....that’s it!3 points

T32, T32, T32 1.2.3. a 4th place team in the PAC, we disagree! Seems you want to talk smack, but the last couple years your team never last!3 points

Passes can be purchased at the beginning of the school year for regular season games but can’t be used for playoffs. I thought semi-state admission was $10. It’s great that the community is helping out the kids. Well done EN!2 points

Two legendary Indiana D3 coaches have retired. Bill Lynch announced his retirement earlier this week from DePauw and Mike Leonard announced his retirement today. These are two great men who have given so much to developing great leaders very much under the radar. They will both be hard to replace.2 points

The North Montgomery game was a moral victory for Danville this year, anyway. Kind of like my graduation from trade school. That said, my neighbor’s cousin’s neighbor told me Danville might be tied up in the whole Southport thing. He also told me they played football there but I couldn’t find any evidence of that either.2 points

Understandable....GS hasn't quite had the media coverage Triwest has received this year...alot going on at Tri West2 points

Who is Gibson Southern? Never heard of them? Get some bigger hardware if you want in this discussion.2 points

More than likely huh? More than likely is great and all, but you know who has unquestionably beat every team Heritage Hills has played this far??? Heritage Hills. Proofs in the pudding young Jimbo... Proof is in the PUDDING!2 points

Stinky, Stink, Stink, 5. 6. 7. Never questioned that you're a legend Hopefully the run lasts two weeks more Having fun watching the Pats win that's for sure No names thrown your way STC But Jimmy Boy has it coming can't you see HH will reload like they always do Winning games and more with kids anew Glad you picked us to win this game Comin' at you man...... Why, that's lame?? Hope you tune in for the game Friday night The prize is LOS if you win this fight2 points

Some Facts, HH has beaten 3 ranked teams in a row to get here, Danville hasnt faced 1. Secondly the first time HH played Gibson the score was 49 to 14 and yes they had HH on the ropes by employing a great game plan and riding number 13. Lastly I would take Gibson to beat Danville every day of the week and twice on sunday2 points

Oh, I agree with you 100 %. HH should be the underdog for this game. Patriots have been the undefeated underdog for most of the season. Might as well keep it that way for this game too. That's how they like it. They like it like that. 😃2 points

Max preps has them #1 in the state and #44 in the country.2 points

This is just icing on the cake at this point for us Jets fans. Talking with a couple of other fans at youth wrestling and 3-6 to 4-5 were the expectations for the regular season. Instead they went 8-1 and are now in Semi State when a Regional trip was overachieving. Will we run into another Kizer or Zachery this time with Barrett? Let the chips fall where they may.2 points

STC.. STC.. 1.. 2.. 3.. This is a game I would like to see, But the Warriors will change their name to Anville, after playing no D. The Warriors offense will spit and sputter, While the Patriots D wins them another. Heritage Hills 40 Danville 132 points

Sounds to me like perhaps you haven’t quite thought this through all the way. The SF already doesn’t have much meaning to 90% of the schools in the state in any practical sense ... since they will never be “successful” enough to have it affect them. It affects only those that have shown they can consistently punch above their weight class. Unfortunately, as presently constructed, it defines “consistently” far too broadly. But if tweaked to really affect only consistently successful programs, instead of also the aberrational class that a particular school might have once in a blue moon, it will work as intended.2 points

No dog in the fight. I will say Bishop Chatard has made the perfect choice in hiring Head Coach Rob Doyle. He was already on staff under legendary Coach Lorenzano. Yes in 3 years he is 30-10. His first season he was 7-6 losing at Danville in Regionals. However he was bringing a completely new Offensive scheme to Chatard in that first season which added the spread offense and throwing more than Chatard typically does. Year 2 was an 11-3 campaign with those 3 losses being to a very athletic Winton Woods OH, an extremely talented Covington Catholic KY, and an very good Evansville Memorial in Semi-State that went on to lose to West Lafayette in State 47-42. This year in year 3 their lone loss was to Cathedral 31-21 in a game I would say they were highly competitive in. The kids have grasped Doyle's Offense. They still throw the ball effectively but run the ball extremely well too. They still play Chatard hard nosed defense. I think the kids have really bought into Coach Doyle's system and you are seeing them flourish with it now that they are comfotable. Back to Heritage Hills vs Danville. The Patriots will be one of the better teams Danville has played this year. Danville has played 2 very solid teams this year in Mooresville and Western Boone. They will have to play extremely well to win the game. They can't have a slow start like they have in a few games if they want to win. This could be a close game, but if they start off slow like they did against V. Lincoln Heritage Hills could turn it in to a big win.2 points

Mod22, I thought the 46 broadcast of the Chatard/Northwood game ranks amongst the best HS TV broadcasts I have ever seen in Indiana...including the State Championships. Really impressive. Chuck Freeby and Bo Hundt were....just....exceptionally excellent. The Bill Beck sideline interviews were particularly cool. South Bend should consider itself lucky. The broadcast I watched far exceeds anything I have seen on Indy area TV.......not even closely comparable. BTW, hoping Bob Nagle(?) is doing better.2 points

CJ, don’t know who Indianapolis Memorial is....more so, your point. Apologies. Chatard has only played away for some 58 years and had a total of 3 home playoff games EVER.....EVER, but fine, Heritage Hill’s travel the last 2 years is Hell on Earth. The Trojans just need to suck it up.....like always. HH’s SOLE worry this Friday only need be about making the best dinner choices in Danville. Myself, I’d suggest The Mayberry. Good memories there, personally......and a shekel or two in the pocket later as it turned out. Of course, there’s always Hardee’s, per Muda....gourmet that he is. Otherwise, save your money for next weekend in Indy. I have recommendations. For the record, don’t overlook Mishawaka Marian.....since HH is already hip deep in game planning next week...2 points

So private schools like Park Tudor and Noll have to move up classes because Cathedral, Andrean, LCC and Chatard are good?2 points
-
Most of the coaches were there. Danville won with lesser athletes in 2016. Trojans got out coached. Poor Vince ended his career with a loss to Danville. Too bad you didn't hire Woods to replace Vince. Then you wouldn't be worried about how to beat him.2 points

Chatard is praying for a Heritage Hills win. Two game losing streak to Danville.2 points

Whew - so glad someone articulated that fear and our prayers. Seriously? Danville is not winning Friday IMO and IF they do, then Chatard will be more than happy to end the "losing streak" at LOS and run at least 6 swinging gate plays after we are up 35...should we get there. I would think Mishawaka and HH are great teams who could win and go to LOS - - - Danville....is not. stupid1 point

Why would Valpo be taking a bus to the game?1 point

From the way they have played since the start of the postseason, this is a different Danville team than the one that played WeBo a month and a half ago. They appear to be hitting harder, are more crisp offensively, and are very solid defensively. Somebody on here compared Danville to Gibson Southern, am I right? I think Danville is better on both sides of the ball than GS is....didn’t GS have HH down 20-7 late in that game only to let it slip away? If Danville gets up 20-7 late, they won’t let it get away from them.1 point

Good teams like Indianapolis Memorial, erghh? We aren't counting regular season games... Oh the horror, an hour trip from Indy to Bloomington!1 point

As a statistics teacher, let me add a couple of things. First, the bell curve only applies in a symmetric distribution of data (first graph). In this case, that would be by enrollment. Enrollment numbers aren't symmetric, they're skewed to the right (second graph). As NLC commented, this means that as enrollment numbers increase they are much more spread out in 6A (3200 difference) vs 1A (160 difference). This doesn't change anybody's position, just pointing out that we have to watch how we use the statistics. Not trying to be a smart alec or anything. IMO from a financial standpoint, the IHSAA would probably make more money having a 6 week Class 6A and a 5 week Class A schedule, than having a 6 week 1A tournament and 5 week. Plus 6A athletic budgets are a lot bigger than those in 1A.1 point

the only thing that annoyed me in this thread is when posters said that we hadn't seen speed or athtletes like Cathedral had. As Muda has so graciously pointed out, we are a suburb of Indianapolis. These boys have seen city speed since second grade. Played basketball and football against the top athletes Indy has to offer. Won a Basketball regional semi-final against Avon. Came within a shot of beating Ben Davis. Won a state championship in football defeating Zionsville, Michigan City and Decatur Central. To act like our boys had no idea what they were gonna see is asinine.1 point
