Salisbury steak is wasted on the young. When I was a kid, I always hated that the cafeteria staff were so "haphazard" and had the mashed potatoes touching the steak and the gravy and that they wouldn't drip the gravy off of the steak ... there was just too much of it. Fast forward to today and I'm much wiser and understand the intricate pleasure of Salisbury steak, gravy, and mashed potatoes and also realizing that there's no such thing as too much gravy when you are talking about Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes.

It's a step, but I also think add in what happens at the high school level; a 15 yarder for illegal participation. Had that been in place, Oregon never thinks about that 12th player as it would have put OSU in FG range.

I too would welcome them and would love having them in the conference. 2000-2009 they became Judsons main rival (outside of knox). It felt like every sport we were meeting them in the sectional championship. If Knox and LaVille did not leave the conference i feel they would of been a much better fit. Now, they may feel too big for the HNAC.

Interesting. Tomlin doesn't strike me as the type to allow a contract to determine who he plays. Wouldn't be surprised if the Steelers truly believe their offense is better with Wilson. Or they at least want to see how it looks.

Correct on Penn with one caveat. You mention “team speed” and are absolutely correct, but Watson can absolutely FLY. I hate the term “football speed” because speed is speed (if you do enough digging, I think there’s a thread on here about it, lol). Watson is possibly the fastest player in Indiana. Problem is LN has 3-4 guys right there as does CG and Cathedral to a smaller extent. The stars have aligned for Brownsburg, at least as far as the sectional is concerned. If they don’t pull it off this year, some serious reflections will need to take place. Can’t remember a year since the inception of 6A that we have had this much conversation around a handful of teams at this stage. Exciting times for sure.

I don't get a vote, but I'd welcome the Bombers into the HNAC. They have a historic rivalry with the Jays, and all the coaches I know over there are good people. Their kids play hard and we've never had an issue, even being on the bad end of a couple of blowouts. I think it would be a good fit, but again, I don't get a vote lol.

Several years ago as part of the Committee from the IFCA that introduced the success factor and how to classify each school, there was a Free and reduced lunch portion. The IHSAA took our proposal that was created by coaches form all levels and socio-economic background schools and threw most of it out and kept nothing but the success factor. They however did not stay with our recommendations on that either in that we suggested a 3 year cycle. I would never change our tournament as a all in system, but I think I would change the way we classify.

Its crushing...... 2 years ago, I visited all 4 kitchens and rated the Salisbury Steak from each Kitchen (both Elementary schools, middle and high school). Then sent full on ALL CORP wide email. A few days later Superintendent sent me an email and said, thanks for the good laugh !! 🙂

Multiple states have fully adopted UFSMS, providing free meals to all students regardless of eligibility. Michigan and California do this.

Max preps says that Dash had 153 passing and 89 rushing. Ferree had 54 yards rushing. Asher Ratliff had 224 yards passing. Gino Prescott had 155 yards rushing.

Lafayette Jeff has the highest FRL in Tippecanoe County, but has the best football team in Tippecanoe County. Jeff will be 9-0 after this Friday.

Not an educator, so I have no idea how the FRL is calculated/reported, and this is not meant to be a wise-ass question: could it be they don't have lunch program at all? Indy Lutheran has no lunch program, but certainly has students that would qualify for FRL. How are those numbers reported?

The reality is the Trojans will be playing for a Regional and the dream pupz won't.

Your numbers will be somewhat off though, especially in private school reporting, as the FRL for most private schools will be 0, actually non-existent, in the IDOE spreadsheet. In general, LCC belongs to the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana and the Diocese has roughly 13% FRL across its network, but LCC has FRL around 19.8%. That won't make too much of a difference with regard to the new range that you have, but there are other private schools that would likely be counted as 0 because if the IDOE spreadsheet that are actually non-existent, but actually do have decent sized FRLwhich may impact class changes. The biggest of these, tied to rankings and traditional power, would be Luers which sits at around 42% FRL. As other private examples, Bishop Noll's FRL is around 56%, yet would likely show up with FRL as non-existent in the spreadsheet. BTW, Chatard's FRL is a bit over 17%, while Cathedral's clocks in a bit under 9%. For some comparison in the Lafayette area ... West Lafayette clocks in around 18.7%, nudging out LCC for lowest FRL in the area, Harrison is around 29.6%, Jeff is close to 69%, while McCutcheon is around 43%. Faith is listed at 0%, but I suspect that's because of non-reported numbers as opposed to no FRL at all.

Tells me that neither Valpo or Elkhart are very good . I would be shocked if Elkhart takes out Snider .

North Daviess (+21) at Springs Valley Mudas favorite team once again somehow has a low spread. Nobody has came close to competing with them since Paoli beat them in week 3. North Daviess has a good record but didn't really think they were that good when they played WW. Gimme Valley in another tune up before the showdown with Providence. Valley wins 49-14 Paoli (-28) at North Knox Another team with a seemingly low spread. North Knox has struggled and are typically a tough game for the rams, but not today. Rams 48-12 Perry Central (-21) at Mitchell PC hasnt looked good all year. Mitchell has looked worse. Luckily for PC most the PLAC is pretty bad. I'll take PC 42-18 West Washington (+7) at Salem If WW comes within 7 of Salem I'll stop crying about the flexbone offense for a whole week! WW struggles to score. It'll only take 20 points to easily cover. Don't think this is close. Salem wins with colts cheerleaders watching 42-6. Eastern Pekin (+4) at Charlestown I'm taking the Pirates mostly because they are home. WW is the only team to let Pekin score more than once all the way back in week 1. Charlestown seems bad too but maybe less bad. Charlestown wins 20-6 Providence(-10) at North Harrison Some how North Harrison lost to Salem. But have gone 6-1 since. Providence just got through taking it to Corydon. Providence is fast and big. Maybe they have a let down looking forward to tourny time? Maybe. I'll take the Pioneers to get it done with speed 35-20. Scottsburg (+17) at Brownstown Best team in MSC conference looks to wrap up against a good Scottsburg team. Brownstown has it all and looks ready to make a run to state. Can they? Maybe. But we got time to talk about that. I look for the Braves to finish off things on senior night with a bang. 48-21 Silver Creek (-3) at Corydon First off thoughts and prayers to the Corydon Players, coaches, and community after the sensless tragedy that happened over the weekend. I cant fathom losing my child that early. Im rooting for them to come out ready to go and win on senior night 24-21. Bonus Game of the Week: Tell City (+1) at South Spencer Tell City lost their studs. South Spencer is usually a tough team. Ill pick them this week 28-6.

We’ll do the best we can. Our schedule really won’t change all that much. Outside of Washington, and possibly Mt Vernon- no other conference schools come remotely close to having the socioeconomic and demographic challenges in regards to student population and participation compared to SR. (Would be REAL interested in the proposed Iowa model and the shake up that would bring- but that will never see the light of day) Not an excuse- but the reality of the situation. It seems everyone has been throwing dirt on the Raiders for quite some time- but we’ll continue to fight the good fight
