This whole thing is funny. Danville couldn't stop a last second touchdown at the end of regulation and even the ensuing 2pt play. To even make the claim that the officials lost the game for them is not what they should be worried about. They should be worried about their end of game coaching and playing. It is the typical sour grapes approach that we see all too often anymore. I'm sorry it happened the way that it did but they did it to themselves.2 points

There is. Antonio's Italian is right down the road, great food. Downtown Elkhart 5-10 minutes away has plenty to choose from, nice brew pub Brass Elk brewing is down there and a few other eateries.2 points

South Vermillion with an incredible win... they earned a ton of respect from me, and I'm sure a lot of folks...who like me, wondered about schedule strength come time to march deep in post season. I say this with the complete memory of people saying the same thing about Linton year in and year out when we were in Southwest Seven and on a huge run of unbeaten seasons etc I remember the frustration. The back n forth with the Vikings was awesome, and I thought NP had gotten the win with that last score so late. The poise Dom showed, and the receiving unit and Oline as well... that was truly an awesome thing to watch unfold. I know it was terribly hard for NP and their fans... but this senior class from SV is in uncharted territory. Linton came out strong against Sullivan, jumping up 14-0 quick... and up 30-7 at half. That's how it ended... so the 2nd half wasn't as dynamic. Defense for the miners was very stout... but I have to admit Sullivan's QB didnt play due to concussion on the final play of regular season. Defending the pass with SVwill be a task. Miners will have to be able to put points up, and hopefully in doing so utilize time off the clock and keep #1 off the field. Clearly... he doesn't need time lol... 43 TDs against 4 ints is impressive. I also think Miners need to pressure and hit the QB. Greencastle has to be favored against BC... and I honestly know little about the Eagles. Greencastle has been hit n miss, but they may have hit their stride at the right time for sure.2 points

The QB was Lindauer and I would bet good money the WR who chewed him out was his cousin, Branson Combs, who now plays at Wake Forest. Do you think Catholics aren't supposed to cuss? Why the f do you think we go to f'ing confession?2 points

Zioinsvillle scores a TD on the last play of regulation to pull wiithini 28-27. Eugine Hilton, TY's son, from the wildcat formation, runs in the two point conversion. Zionsville goes to Westfield, Carmel goes home 29-28.1 point

Sounds like the face mask should have been enforced at the end of the run...then check the line to gain for the down. Following that, you have a dead ball Personal Foul against Delta that ALSO should have been enforced Following the mark off of the 1st penalty. If the line to gain is past the 1st down then that is where the ball is These are NOT offsetting penalties! They are BOTH enforced. And it could *i guess be possible for the ball to wind up at the spot of the original end of the run...but I highly doubt it.1 point

Keep in mind, due to the number and structure of contests, your "conference" does not have as large an effect on your schedule outside of football. Football has 9 regular season games, if you are in an 8 team conference...you have two non-conf games. Thats it. Some sports compete in a vareity of Invite/Tourney formats....lots of opportunity to compete against state wide talent. (XC, Wrestling, Track, etc) Some sports may have 20+ regular season contests....a lot more opportunity for non-conf competition. (Baseball, Basketball, Volleyball, etc) A bad conference set up CAN have a more significant impact on your football program than most other sports.1 point

NIC schools like Penn, St. Joe, Marian and the South Bend Schools do well in various sports. Penn has had a strong showing when it comes to the none football sports this fall. The issue with the NIC is that these programs are performing despite the conference's limitations. NIC teams already play a heavy Region and Fort Wayne schedule outside of conference...Now that will change some because in baseball and basketball the in conference games have changed. Dikos (Penn's baseball coach) has already complained about the changes to the baseball schedule. I don't think Penn's best bet is going independent in football only....I think they should petition the DAC and see if they will take Penn in, if they don't....I would then reach out to similar sized schools in our area and Fort Wayne and see if organizing a new conference with them is a possibility...I would explore those options before trying to go Independent...But, if Penn went that route...you now have two Indy schools that would want to play Penn each year moving forward....Almost a guaranteed win for both schools at this point.1 point

Just a guess, but there were reports that the Brebeuf AD was one of the people who confronted the officials on the field after the play was over, but before the ruling was made.1 point

Maybe the conference as a whole isn't as strong as what many including myself thought it was. Obviously Adams Central is the outlier. I think they are more than for real still, but only four teams remain in the playoffs, and I gotta think there's only going to be two after tonight. Southern Wells probably wouldn't be playing tonight if they didn't have a bye round 1. Tough to say with Bluffton having to face Adams Central round 1 and not getting to play a non-conference opponent instead, but I think even Bluffton wasn't as tough as many thought they would be this year.1 point

That's correct. I expect a good game, but think the Lions come out on top by a score or two, still thinking around 6 to 10 point margin.1 point

Had you taken the time to read any of the half dozen or so posts I’ve made on this subject, on this and other threads, you’d know that I’m on record as saying this was a mistake by the crew. After seeing the video, my opinion is that the proper foul, if any were to be called, would be unsportsmanlike conduct on Danville, not illegal participation. Since UNS is enforced like a dead ball foul, the play counts and the game is over. Now, so much for my being a “ref apologist,” a “moron,” or “asinine.” Let’s see if you’ve got the sack to do the right thing.1 point

Wow they have moved up since I last checked a few weeks ago then! I'm just not sold on Snider this year..worst timing to be in 6a..ik the others are thinking the panthers still have enough ammo to win..I'm just not seeing the guns..how u speak of penn is slightly how I feel about Snider..last two years I would have taken them in the sectional even with Carroll lurking..this year they just seem off..even beating wayne without their star rb/lb looked as if they could do barely enough..I've been wrong b4 though. Can Elkhart throw and do their linemen play both sides?1 point

I think strength of schedule is more important now than it was 20-30 years ago. Back then you only had a handful of teams to worry about. Not you have about 15 teams to worry about. You just can't play a cupcake schedule in 6A and expect to go very far. Success breeds success. Carroll wouldn't be where they are now if they continued in the cupcake conference (by 6A standard) they were in. They grew as a program when they entered the SAC. Same with all the suburban Indy schools. If you want to be the best, you need to know what the best looks like in the regular season.1 point

Interesting. I haven't heard about that. Whitestown gets their water from Citizens and has no issues that I'm aware of. I'm in Whitestown daily. I can see the infrastructure being put in all over the place to support new development as well as new neighborhoods getting built. This is all within the Lebanon district around Gold Club of Indiana (West of I-65 and West of Indianapolis Road) as well as to the east / north / near south of the old town of Whitestown. The neighborhoods that line Indianapolis Road feed into Zionsville as well as the neighborhoods east of I-65 and south of 500 South. Here's a recent article about a new development proposal that mentions Whitestown is planning on going from 13-14K in population to 26-30K within 10 years. A huge percent of that growth has to come form the Lebanon district. There's not much left to develop in the Zionsville district. I have no idea how much that will increase Lebanon's enrollment. https://fox59.com/news/110-million-retail-and-housing-development-proposed-in-whitestown/1 point

South Vermillion @ Linton - I think the Wildcats have earned some praise around the WRC! They've shown that they can compete with school their size and not just beat up on the smaller schools (good for them). Just like that nutty guy said this is basically the sectional championship. I like SV's qb and athletes to keep it close for them. Physically I think Linton wins that battle. I'll take SV winning on another buzzer beater 35 - 32 South Putnam @ Covington - Watching the way SP beat my role model Coach King's Mustangs there is no way this will be a close ball game. Coach King had the perfect scheme for the Eagles but they are just too big, physical and athletic. I think SP will make it to state. South Putnam wins by as much as they want. Starters out at halftime Riverton Parke @ North Vermillion - This game was a nail bitter last time. RP giving the game away in the second half. NV can score some points but can they stop that slow, mythical, ground and pound offense that RP has? Panthers take this one from the Falcons and I don't see it being as close as the first meeting. Riverton wins 44 - 211 point
