  1. After a very long night (it's not after 4:00 a.m.) We are back. More to do, but we are functional, enjoy. More from me after I get some sleep. ...g'night, DK

  2. We still have all sorts of errors that you guys don't get bothered with popping up that I'm chasing. After I get the server's configuration all set up for our purposes, I will work on setting up the new booster group for this year. I'm glad you guys are all still here and enjoying yourselves.

  3. While we are all feeling the euphoria of the site being up and running again, it's probably a good time for folks to remember that the site runs completely on donations. Do your part to be a site booster [donation of at least $40] and help carry the load! https://gridirondigest.net/clients/donations/

  8. I agree. Just gave the $40 -- and encourage everybody else to do the same. You don't know what you got until it's gone (for a few weeks)!

  10. Well after the multi-week hiatus; Brownstown may have their best team I have ever seen. I was surprised to see how bad New Albany actually looked against them. Silver Creek 0-3 with a bad loss to Salem in week 2, inexcusable. Salem has impressed me with their grit and determination given their circumstances. Corydon beating NH for the first time since the IPhone 6 came out! Scottsburg at 3-0! Lots have happened, glad we are back! MSC Power Rankings 1. Brownstown 2. Scottsburg 3. Charlestown 4. Corydon 5. North Harrison 6. Salem 7. Silver Creek

  11. https://unherd.com/newsroom/why-is-the-media-silent-about-iryna-zarutskas-murder/ I can't even find this story on the AP news website, which I thought may still be the last bastion of objective news reports. It's pretty much true there are no objective, 100% fact-based, major news outlets any more. They have all co-opted by some kind of political idealogy. A sad time for America.

  14. How bout them Spartans. Was the QB out against Westfield as well? Was at the Carroll/CG game. Came away impressed with both teams. Carroll was the harder hitting team. Can never discount Mishawaka, but East Noble is on a mission. Not only are they good, but they've got swagger. Lethal combo when kids are kicking ass and having fun while doing so. Thanks for the New Pal correction. East Noble may be calling themselves champions this year. But if they fall asleep against Dwenger, their season will come to an end. Just my thoughts after three weeks. Good to see the Saints back.

  17. Luers is gonna frustrate every offense they play this year. They might go 2-7 but I also think that front 7 on defense is going to take them deep into the 3A tournament. If the young offense could put some points on the board...

  18. Carter has been very impressive this season! Kickers are such a huge weapon that opponents can do nothing about.

  19. Slide Carroll up to #10. East Noble to #15. Penn to #19. Would like to see Merrillville in there somewhere, not sure who I'd eliminate though.

  20. Carmel apparently is getting their money's worth by luring back former coach Kevin Wright. Three games, all at home, but still, only Westfield's 31-10 loss to them was the closest of the three games. They and the 'Burg could be headed to a LOS showdown Thanksgiving weekend.

  21. It didn't surprise me that TH-South beat the North Cougars, but the shutout was surprising. North had a big turnover of players from last season and is thin in experience at several positions. They seem to be a team that will run hot and cold on the season. They did beat BNL after the Stars had knocked off Martinsville by a wide margin which kind of indicates that they are going to have an up and down season. They have Bloom. South this Friday and I will be surprised if that game is close even with the rivalry aspect to it, since South is much deeper at most positions on both sides of the ball. One area that South needs to cleanup is with the penalties and they have had a ton of them, especially of the major category, in the first three games. Against TH North, they had 10 penalties for 120 yards. In the Bloom. North game, North had just 91 yards total offense in the game. It was 6-0 TH South at the half, and the Braves used their running game, a little over 300 rushing yards total, to control the second half.

  22. I watched the NA Brownstown game on Glicod after I got home Friday night. Brownstown is so good, but in no world should a 5A school get running clocked by halftime by a 2A.

  23. Snider was tied with Warsaw with 4 minutes to go, not a shameful loss, but giving up 480 rushing yards is awful. East Noble kicked the snot out of the Panthers and while the Knights are a very good 4A team, Snider losing to them the way they did is a bad look for the Panthers. Beating Luers 9-0 with 3 field goals is not a good look either.

  24. After being so rudely interrupted, here are the CI standings through Week 3. As expected, it sure looks like the conference championship game will be the South/Col. North game on Oct 3rd in Columbus. It also looks like Southport and Terre Haute North's game will decide who gets the only win on the season for those two teams. Both teams, with new head coaches, look dreadful so far in the season CONFERENCE INDIANA ALL TIMES EASTERN CONFERENCE ALL GAMES W-L Pts OP W-L Pts OP Streak Bloomington South 1-0 49 13 3- 0 129 47 Won 3 Columbus North 1-0 54 0 3- 0 155 14 Won 3 Terre Haute South 1-0 23 0 2- 1 76 67 Won 2 Bloomington North 0-1 0 23 1- 2 43 71 Lost 1 Southport 0-1 0 54 0- 3 0 133 Lost 14 Terre Haute North 0-1 13 49 0- 3 28 139 Lost 6

  25. In my years of FB. I have only had ONE game that this was a VIABLE option. And it was basically ONE team that was the issue. It was WAAAAY more than a FB game that was the issue, and the culmination of issues far beyond sports.

  26. Sounds like there's trouble in the locker room, fighting on the sidelines, and an injured RB.

  27. Their record doesn't show it, but South Adams is a very dangerous team in 1A. I think they have a chance to go to LOS. I don't know what the south has, so can't confidently say they win state, but I think they are the favorite to represent the north this year if they can get by Madison Grant whenever they would see them. Other than that, I don't think any of the other teams make it to Thanksgiving week, but there will be some Sectional champs and maybe a regional champ or two sprinkled in there.

  28. Average at best QB play, no big play/homerun threats on the outside, and inconsistent line play has doomed the offense. Haven't scored a TD since the 1st quarter of week 1. Oh yeah, and committing a million penalties a game hasn't helped either. Defense has played well in spurts but still way to susceptible to the chunk plays and they are consistently put in a tough spot by a sputtering offense. There's a few wins left on the schedule, but may have to wait until next week against Southport. They may be back in 4A in two years if New Pal isn't bumped to 6A after the season.

  30. Looks like a real possibility: Hot Dogs are now 0-3, having been outscored a total of 129-8 in those three contests. Not even competitive. A "4A" school getting drubbed by two 1A and one 2A program. Yep, the new Monon Athletic Conference looks to be a schedule upgrade. For losses. A 22 game losing streak and counting.............

  31. There are several oddities, I’ve not had a lot of KY schools, but I’ve had a ton of Ohio schools and they’re all very good about understanding when they come to Indiana they play by our rules. And in talking with some of the coaches that play there, they get it. I had bigger issues with KY schools in JV games as Madison and Switz has added county schools from across the river. One school brought their V to the JV on Monday at Switz, yep the exact same team that play on Friday, less their senior, notice senior was not plural.

  35. I should have posted this in the “In Memoriam” thread … but this seemed fitting. R.I.P. George Wendt. Most famous for his role in Cheers. But fans of a certain NFL team, from a certain city … know him as Bill Swerski, #1 fan of “Da’ Bears.”

  37. With the changes to the ICC, Indy Lutheran had two additional non-conference weeks to fill. Significant adds for 2025 are games at 5A New Albany and hosting 5A McCutcheon. A week 3 game with Linton would be a good fit, but could also be week 14 matchup. Personally, while The Roy provides a great game environment, I absolutely HATE filming there!
