  2. Can we talk about 4a football I may be excited to see a competitive 6a game in the state finals But 4a as a class has a lot to offer for the full tournament this year. Lots of good potential matchups I promise I will make a thread tonight specifically for fort wayne and nwi to trash each other if thats what it takes to get this one back on teack

  3. Last year they were primarily led by Juniors. I believe they have 19? seniors this year. Brownstown is well coached, they’re disciplined, they don’t turn the ball over, and they don’t make mistakes. I think the biggest difference this year is OL size and strength. They have a MAC commit and he’s not hard to find.

  4. "To cap off Concord football’s unique 2025 season, during which the Minutemen have not been able to play at their home Jake Field due to construction, Concord will “host” Northern Lakes Conference rival Plymouth at Lucas Oil Stadium tomorrow." First of TWO games they'll play at LOS?

  6. As a Brownstown alumni I appreciate all the support for Brownstown. Coach May definitely deserves a trip to Lucas Oil. As a parent of a freshman it has been fun watching this group play this year. The seniors have been great leaders and role models. I’m looking forward to the tournament and seeing what they can accomplish!

  7. Attica @ SV - I'm still cheering for Attica to get to win #3 this week. I think it's possible, but against a tough opponent in a similar roster position - young and hungry. Both will be fighting for a final win to end the regular season before each moves on to a very tough round 1 sectional draw. Attica 22 SV 14 Covington @ RP - The best part of my week is The Prince's comments and predictions. Far from me to ask the Prince about running up scores when history shows a certain Rockville team coached by The King allowed his Senior QB named Matt King to score 9 TD's in a game against Turkey Run in a 72-0 hammering in 2008. (Source -- Turkey Run vs Rockville | Football | 9/19/2008). Heck, I think even Billy Bettis was on that team too. (Source - Rockville Football Roster (2008-09) - MaxPreps.com). I don't know if RP left their starters in the game or not. Does it matter? PH had 105 yards total offense, 4 fumbles and an interception against RP. No game against even a decent opponent would be close with those stats. And my guess is that RP's JV probably did enter the game and continued the success their varsity had earlier in the game. Their JV throttled Seeger's JV a couple weeks ago by 30 and apparently hasn't lost in a couple years. RP wins big and secures the WRC title. 52-0 Covington gets North Central next week in an very winnable sectional round 1 game. FC @ PH - A battle for WRC's third place finish and then a rematch the next week in Sectionals. FC is rolling and apparently healthy. It will be interesting how the teams play this week knowing they play again the following week with more on the line (Winner gets South Put in the sectional semi-finals). I think FC rolls here two weeks in a row and sets themselves up for sectional rematch vs South Put from 2024's season. Seeger @ NV - Seeger probably got the best draw they could ask for in their loaded sectional. The Patriots will make the sectional finals with a shot to move on to regionals and continue their great season. It hasn't been talked about much, but a win by Seeger and an upset by Covington over RP and the conference title will have co-champs in 2025. Seeger will roll NV in this game and head into sectionals with momentum. NV will get a home game vs RP next week in round 1 of sectionals.

  8. This is one of those times when you get to have a really satisfying conversation with the coach. He’ll say “They touched it before it went in the end zone and we recovered it!” And then you get to say, with a really sincere look on your face, ”Coach, you’re exactly right.” They always get this look on their face when they hear that, and you know they’re thinking “uh-oh, I think I just let everyone know that I’m ignorant of the rule.” I remember a conversation with a coach like that, and after I’d explained the rule to him, he looked at me and said “You just made that up!” 🤣😂😅

  17. I forgot about the Elmore injury, and he's been a big target for Ratliff this season. The Bull Dogs have the better QB in Ratliff, but I believe that the Braves have the better running game with sr RB Tyisaac Corbin lining up in the backfield. It will be an interesting game.

  18. I really think that Columbus North and Terre Haute South game could go either way. I think the Bull Dogs benefitted from playing three of their easiest games to start the year (Whiteland hadn’t figured themselves out yet) before playing their five toughest opponents in the last six weeks of the year. I know North is dealing with some injuries as well. I don’t have any knowledge of the severity of the injury Parker Elmore sustained against Bloomington North last week but, if he doesn’t play, I think it’s safe to say Terre Haute South wins. If Elmore does play then I think that favors Columbus North.

  20. Week 9 games in CI. This is it for Conference Indiana with the regular season coming to a close and it is sayonara, au revoir, etc. for the conference. Without knowing what is happening at Bloom. South, Col. North, and Southport right now as far as conference affiliation, it's looking to me that those schools may be scheduling an independent next season. For the final weekend in the conference, two games look to be competitive while the other two have a running clock written all over them. As usual, my favorites are in boldface. Center Grove (7-1) @ Bloomington South (8-0) The 6A No. 4 Trojans played a much tougher schedule coming into this game, and while the 5A No. 2 Panthers have run the table up to this point and have been dominant in doing so, I just don't know how good they are against one of the best 6A programs in the state. This game will be a good measuring stick for the Panthers as they enter the sectional. The Panthers are averaging 443 yards per game and have a game scoring average of 45 ppg, but the yards and points will probably come grudgingly in this game. The Panthers lead the series against Center Grove, 10-8, but the two schools haven't met since 2009 when Center Grove won a sectional game over South. The last time they met in a regular season game was back in 1997 when the Panthers had Rex Grossman under center, with the South winning 28-0. My heart says the Panthers will win this game, but my brain tells me to go with Center Grove with the Trojans winning by one to two scores. Harrell's site prediction: Center Grove 38 Bloomington South 28 Terre Haute South (6-2) @ Columbus North (4-4) A hot Braves team travels to Columbus to take on a struggling Bull Dog team. The Bull Dogs are certainly good enough to win this game, but they have lost four of their last five games, with their only win over that period being against a horrendous Terre Haute North team that everyone has pummeled including a bad Southport team. On the other hand, 5A No. 12 TH South has won 6 of their last 7 games with their only loss during that period being a home loss to Bloom. South. The Braves will come into the game with all of the confidence in the world, so I see them taking this game by one score. Harrell's site prediction: Columbus North 35 Terre Haute South 31 Bloomington North (5-3) @ Southport (1-7) No need to go into much detail on this game. The North Cougars are going for their fifth straight win, while Southport only win was against winless Terre Haute North. This game has running clock written all over it. Enough said. Harrell's site prediction: Bloomington North 38 Southport 14 Terre Haute North (0-8) @ Brebeuf Jesuit (1-7) I have seen both teams play, and Brebeuf is light years better than the North Patriots despite having just the one win on the season. Brebeuf could put this game into a running clock situation. Another enough said. Harrell's site prediction: Brebeuf Jesuit 38 Terre Haute North 21

  22. Sparty by by 43- Cadets score late and miss a PAT while Homestead attempts to figure how they have not become the greyhounds of the north....Colors? check, rennovated field? check, coaching?? Carroll by 21- Dinan goes vanilla as he attempts to keep guys healthy, Coach K will have his team do what they do and if this game were off south calhoun i'd give them a better shot. Legends by 9- Good grief, take these panthers off life support and just end the season already..North relishes a victory over the blk and gold this year along with the majority of the city..haters gonna hate n the legends will be dancing like its 1990.. their last sectional title.. Saints by 35- Archers try to play keep away with those athletes yet CYO ball is in full effect come October. I might attend this game just to hear those hits..and enjoy the food trucks of course... Bruins by 27- Generals play their hearts out while Bowen just allows his playmakers to do their thing, with vengance on their mind hopefully the penalties wont get out of hand..

  24. BNL (6-2, 4-1 HHC) at Columbus East (4-4, 4-1 HHC) #8/9 Floyd Central (7-1, 5-0 HHC) at New Albany (0-8, 0-4 HHC) Jennings County (3-5, 0-4 HHC) at Jeffersonville (3-5, 2-3 HHC) Seymour (2-6) at Indianapolis Crispus Attucks (7-1)

  25. 23 thinks the winner of EN/Dwenger will make a run to Lucas so he is on board. I’m not there yet, would like to get there though. Wondering if Leo can ruin that matchup

  27. Columbia City to the west, Adams Central to the south. That's NE Indiana in my opinion. Warsaw, Penn, Mishawaka = North Central. Okay, I had to get out my ruler for this. If you want to eliminate Central Indiana and just roll with NW and NE, then Mishawaka is right on the line. They can just choose which side they want to be on. Technically? Penn would be considered NE Indiana by maybe 5 miles.

  28. Any love for Lawrenceburg? 6th in the AP, 4th in the IFCA should have VERY smooth sailing through their sectional. Always a team that seems to turn it on in November...

  30. Still think they should of went outside the program to get a coach. Also need to change the Schedule , we need to play more 6A teams or equivalent from Indy area , IL,OH or MI .

  31. Not in danger I am the least bias user on this forum Also crown points schedule does nothing to say they would win either. So why dont you go and win this thing so we can get to next August and start ranking cp as a top team for another year

  33. Penn's schedule lends nothing to support that Penn will be competitive in this game. The first time we play any semblance of a football team (no offense to the weaker teams in the conference) we turned the ball over three times and looked rusty. Since Elkhart, we played another bad football team and now we have St. Joe which Penn should win in similar fashion to the Elkhart game. Our best competition was back in week 2. CP has at least played Merrillville, and the rest of the DAC including Pike. I think Penn would be #2 in the DAC this year, that is specifically based on the fact that we have not played a football team at our level yet this year. How this team responds to that pressure in a few weeks will show us all who Penn is. I want Penn to win, I think based on the last decade(ish) of football tells me that it wont happen. I understand that these are different players and for the most part coaches, but, you have to prove it on the field at some point.

  34. No arguments here. But I think most Indy politicians would be pissed at any insinuation they’re trying to be like Chicago (but those bozos couldn’t dream to match the corruption in Chicago politics). I’ve said before on here there’s a reason the rest of the state just keeps getting worse and the donut around Indy keeps getting richer.

  35. And let me be clear , Cp may beat Penn for the third year in a row . I just don't think we should crown them Sectional champs until the games played .

  36. Touchback. Since the ball was never possessed it's still a kick. A kick that crosses R's goal line plane is always a touchback.

  40. Their defense seems to be playing more lights out this year, even more so than last years team. I’m not sure we’ve yet seen what Brownstown’s offense is capable of putting up, especially since the JV is finishing out most games. Just my two cents
