  1. You talked me into it. I’ll be at Dwenger before 6 pm, so I usually beat the parking hassle.

  2. It has been a year of adversity for the Trojans. Coach Moore will never make excuses but the Trojans did a terrific job having a 10-2 season even in the face of some adversity. They definitely be better for it several players getting a lot of playing time and the young QB1 gained a lot of experience. I was surprised that WC won given that the game was at CG, but I was not surprised that WC was able to compete and win the game. They have a very solid defense and the offense has been right there on the cusp several times throughout the season. Much more improved offensively for the Warriors. I definitely feel Brownsburg is the favorite because they are solid at darn near every position but the Warriors will fight hard. Congrats to the Trojans on a solid season.

  3. I have been following this for a few months now. Have to admit it seemed pretty grim. But he went in for surgery at 5am and posted this around 2:45 today. It's been inspiring to see him remain so positive though the whole ordeal. Continued prayers through recovery Bernie.

  10. Personal opinion - any team that gets moved up a class (or more) and wins a sectional should not get to drop back down a class. They’ve proven they can compete and find “success” in a class above their enrollment classification. No team should be eligible to drop back down a class until they do not win at least a sectional. They should stay up until they lose a sectional. It is silly to me to let a team drop to a lower class when they’ve been winning in a higher class. Barr-Reeve’s principal was the driving force behind the rule change to 3 points so their highly successful volleyball team (which has been success factored from 1A to 3A but couldn’t win a state championship in 3A) could move back a class to 2A. Wouldn’t you know it, Barr-Reeve volleyball dropped to 2A for the current cycle, won a regional last year, and a state championship this year. Don’t be surprised if there is a push to move the point total back up to 4 points to stay up a class after the Vikings don’t win 3A the next two years.

  11. Have you thought of the "Catholicism" surrounding this contest? This is DE PLACE to go to on Friday on the Northside of town! We are absolutely in agreement on this one! I'm saying that as a Lutheran. Bubba's 33 opening up today is also an issue. Head to Laycoff's get a Pizza Roll .... well, any damned thing! Wonderful place pregame, IMO! @Sparty my skinny azz can't eat hours before any contest... ugh!

  21. I would never judge a parent on not showing up, I have dealt with enough kids to know that putting food on the table and providing a roof takes priority over showing up to sport contests. I had talked with some guys who pointed out his son was on the team yet werent entirely sure. I thought if he was on the team it would be awesome that he comes out to the games yet could undertand why he wouldnt.. I honestly had no idea. I should have worded it better. I still remember the days when the grammar police would get me when I mis-typed or misspoke. Mea culpa..

  22. Not a fan of teams needing 3 points to stay up. Should’ve stayed at 2 points.

  23. Yeah, right back to where they were at the beginning of the season with the long snapping operation. That’s a problem that wouldn’t be able to fly under radar against a full season of actual competition. I can see why they kicked since they’d been clean except for the first PAT, but I would not have hated if they lined up to go for it there either. More importantly, I would have liked to see the offense incorporate a little of that old fashioned Penn screen game at times to help Hall out. Carroll’s ability to go under center and lean on a defense really rounds out their attack, and their qb’s ability to handle pressure and escape from the grasp of defenders was the difference, for me, in this one. Gee, it would be nice to see a team like Carroll in more than just the last game of the season ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  24. Is that a judgy subtext? My dad never came to any of my matches or programs. He was a high school assistant principal, so he was busy. When he wasn't, he didn't want to make me nervous. It wasn't that he didn't want to be there. He told me what was up. He did the same thing with my brother. He didn't want to hover over us. He wasn't famous, either. But, anyway, it appears other posters have pointed out you might just be missing him. Solid.

  25. Was not shocked with Warren winning. Knew it would be a close game....they continued improving as the season progressed. Finch didn't play in their first game and that young man is special. Why he is Alabama bound....although would have loved keeping him in state.

  26. Penn had an excellent season and I really think they are close to being a year in year out force in 6A. Let’s see how it plays out

  30. No matter what class it is... 3A, 4A, or whatever, once we get to semi-state the topic of conversation almost always turns to roster size, how many are playing both ways?, etc. If roster size was much of a deciding factor HH wouldn't have made it out of the 4A sectional. Definitely not out of Regional. I have a feeling this game is going to come down to a four factors, as they always do: Health, Turnovers, Who wins the line of scrimmage, and Who has the most SEC commits. 😄 Seriously though, I don't think the size of roster or who plays both ways is going to decide this one. It's gonna be battle of two teams who are hitting their strides at the right time, and at the end of it the firetrucks will be waiting at Denny's to give an escort through Dale, Mariah Hill, Santy Claus and back to the Jungle. HH-3

  31. I know the numbers and the math and somebody told me this morning that Harrell has this as a 2 score game. While this may be where our roster size catches up with us, we certainly aren't going up there to lose. Everybody has counted us out...I'm really wondering how this matches up. We are the lone public school that is left in 4A. These young men will do their best to make the south proud. And hey, you only need 11 guys that want to play!

  36. This is incredible. An innovative way to take care of the grass that Real Madrid plays on. 120 feet below the surface is a system to move other surfaces to the top; like a grass field for the Dolphins and Commanders game. So, while this field is on the surface, the RM pitch is below in a greenhouse that also includes and autmated cutting system. The grass on the fields has also been developed. Another flooring option includes a hard surface to host concerts. Far more advanced that the system in Arizona where the Cardinals field can be rolled out of the stadium to get plenty of natural sunlight since the stadium is enclosed.

  37. Cascade has a 3 headed monster running the ball... They have a big strong kid that runs between the tackles and they have 2 kids that pretty good on the outside. They also can throw the ball when they need to. If GS rolls down and plays 8 in the box, I think Trebly (QB) will throw... Then when they drop and only have 6-7 in the box, that 3 headed monster will come out. If GS QB1 was playing I think this is an extremely tight game that could go either way... With a backup QB in, I think Cascade will win. Their Defense is fast and their OLB (Turner #27, Sophomore) is a stud.

  38. We had a tie at the top of the standings this year for the first time ever. While I had intended to use the tiebreaker I came up with last year, I realized over the weekend that the wording I used to explain it wasn’t very clear or concise. See the tiebreaker rules below. 1. Did you predict the correct winner of the game? If this doesn’t break the tie then we move on to #2. 2. The person whose score prediction is the closest to the actual total points is the winner. (For example, person A predicted a 35-21 score for a game with a 42-21 result. Person B predicted a 52-7 score for a different game with a 70-14 result. Person A would win because their total score of 56 was 7 points off the actual total of 63. Whereas, person B’s total score of 59 was 25 points off the actual total of 84.) If the tie still isn’t broken, we move on to #3. 3. The person whose score prediction of the winning team is closest is the winner. (For example, two people were off by 4 points in their total score predictions in #2. Person A predicted a 24-21 score for a game with a 28-21 result. Person B predicted a 35-3 score for a different game with a 34-8 result. Person B would win because they were off by 1 point on the winning score while person A was off by 4 points.) I have mentioned this in maybe one or two previous posts but tiebreaker #1 was only meant to be used in the event there was a tie going into the final week, there were multiple games going into the final week, and the score was tied after the final week. For instance, Person A and Person B are tied going into the final week. The final week contains two games. Both Person A and Person B are required to pick a final score of just ONE of those two games. Here’s a random scenario to illustrate this. Person A picks BNL over Heritage Hills and Floyd Central over Bloomington South. Person A picks the BNL game as the one he wants to give a final score to. He has BNL winning 28-21. Person B picks BNL over Heritage Hills and Floyd Central over Bloomington South as well. However, he picks the FC game as the one he wants to give a final score to. He has FC winning 21-10. Now let’s say BNL wins but FC loses. Both Person A and Person B have the same picks and would each get 1 point. However, Person A gave a score prediction to the BNL game (which he had BNL winning) and Person B gave a score prediction to the FC game (which he had FC winning). BNL won and FC lost so Person A would win the tiebreaker due to having the correct winner in his score prediction game. Therefore, this particular tiebreaker was never meant to be used if someone was a point behind going into the final week. This all made sense to me in my head but, looking back on it from an alternate perspective, it’s completely convoluted. As a result, I think I’m declaring @boilerfan87 and @LC_Bears_04 as co-winners of the HHC Pick ‘Em contest for 2025. Going forward, we will use the same rules but I’ll provide more clarity when needed as to whether tiebreaker #1 is needed. Hopefully this makes sense and still isn’t convoluted. Pick ‘Em Contest Winners 2020: @boilerfan87 41/52 (.788) 2021: @Frozen Tundra 40/49 (.816) 2022: @LC_Bears_04 39/49 (.796) 2023: @boilerfan87 47/51 (.922) 2024: @LC_Bears_04 44/48 (.917) 2025: @boilerfan87 & @LC_Bears_04 27/30 (.900)

  39. 1. WRONG! 2. I watched like 4 minutes of this game but do know it was 27-14 in the 3rd. So kind of right? Maybe? Lol 3. CORRECT! 4. Fell short, WRONG AGAIN! 5. CORRECT x2! 6. Almost spot on, CORRECT. 3 or 4 out of 6 isn't too bad. Shoutout to Carroll and Cascade for proving me wrong! Good luck to all teams moving on!

  41. @ASJCPUMA also just happens to leave out a major point to the loss to Penn. St. Joe lost 38-6 to Penn while Dwenger's two losses were by 3 points each. Then don't forget to add in the details of Carroll (FW) beat Penn 41-30 and Dwenger beat Carroll (FW) 9-6. I never like when people just leave out details just to try and make an argument. Hope all Fort Wayne area teams win and make it to State but at this point of the season a game can go either way because it is played by 16-18 year kids.
