  1. I”ll ask the same (apparently idiotic) question I’ve been asking since this whole debate started. Just why can’t the adjustment be made until the end of the two year period (at the end of next year) as it should have been done normally? Why the urgency to make bumps/drops/adjustments a year early? If I were a conspiracy guy I would say that its all because the IHSAA just couldn’t wait to bump Cathedral to 6A and had to validate that decision somehow…..but then I’m no conspiracy guy….. With that, I’m as ticked off as anybody about Chatard getting moved down to 3A. I really thought they could make a deep run in 4A this year….almost certainly next year (if they could have stayed “up”). Still, 3A has been a heckuva class the last few years and, apparently, Chatard is back in it. Looks like only Memorial will have the honor of pulling off the 3A/4A championship run for the time being.

  2. Actually, I really didn't have any feelings about the source listed....just simply pointing out that the sad news was everywhere. A young man with a beautiful wife and guessing a wonderful family tragically lost his life....with his whole life ahead of him. I think we as father's on this forum can feel the sadness in a young person's life that is suddenly lost. I need to do a better job personally empathizing with all young lives lost when I read it in the paper or hear the story on the news. All of us love football, especially high school football on this forum. I just hope all of us remember what is important, and that we have much more in common than we do different. And so what if we see the world differently....makes it far less boring. Please call me out when I forget this......

  3. Dante isn't even a factor right now in their #1 ranking. They're #1 without him. The odds are against ND to retain that ranking, but I'm not sure I'd bet against Freeman's capabilities. I'd be thrilled with Top 5. I mean, this is Notre Dame after all.

  6. Sheridan was 10-0 in 1975 and didn't qualify for the 1A tourney. They were 9-1 in 76 and qualified. We were 10-0 in 1980 and still had a chance to not make it. We did and won the state title. The points system was just as bad as the cluster system. Let 'em all in.

  7. I am the observer that hopes OSU and Michigan beat each other senseless to a 0-0 tie. When both teams play, its a Joe Dirt mullet convention.....

  8. I’ve said it for years but 4A “was” most years consistently the best class pound for pound. With that, its best teams have generally gone on to consistently be the dominant players in 5A and, on occasion, break into 6A…which has watered down 4A from its prior glory.

  9. Be interesting to see the new 6A South sectional alignment. Cathedral in a sectional with LC, LN, and North Central likely ensures the Irish will remain in 6A on an almost permanent basis (nothing wrong with that either). 4A would have been a good barometer for Chatard. New Pal (I believe) will be loaded the next year or two and Kokomo bumping down strengthens 4A which in my opinion has been one of the weaker classes for sometime.

  10. There will be a couple of kicking camps that will be returning to Roncalli this summer. We will be hosting the Kornblue Indy Camp on May 14 and the Kicking World Indy Camp on July 23. I have partnered with Brandon and Brent for quite some time now primarily because of their model - they keep numbers low so that the kids get plenty of instruction and also keep their costs more reasonable than a lot of the larger camps. If you know of someone in your program who might be interested in attending I hope that you will consider passing this along. If you have any questions feel free to email me at CStrykowski@Roncalli.org

If you're also going to get the loaded baked potato soup, you're gonna need a container to go.

  15. I'll meet anyone at the Dollar as long as we go inside, enjoy a breaded tenderloin and wash it down with a couple of malted beverages. Getting too old for this alley stuff. At my age, have become more of a lover than "wrastler".......well, don't verify that with my wife....she would probably only buy into the "too old" stuff. Takes a little more effort to convince her to "wrastle".......ok, a lot more effort.....😉

  19. I played for Luers in 1973 and 1974. 73 was the last year for one class, that year Luers ended up #2, #3 and #4 in the 3 polls that they had back then. Luers had around 800 students at the time. There was no way the IHSAA was going let Luers play in 1a.

  24. Probably. Especially if you write a song about it like Dennis Leary did: Folks, I'd like to sing a song about the American Dream About me, about you About the way our American hearts beat way down in the bottom of our chests About that special feeling we get in the cockles of our hearts Maybe below the cockles Maybe in the sub cockle area Maybe in the liver, maybe in the kidneys Maybe even in the colon, we don't know I'm just a regular Joe with a regular job I'm your average white, suburbanite slob I like football and porno and books about war I got an average house with a nice hardwood floor My wife and my job, my kids and my car My feet on my table and a Cuban cigar But sometimes, that just ain't enough to keep a man like me interested (Oh, no, no way, uh-uh) No, I gotta go out and have fun at someone else's expense (Whoa, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah) I drive really slow in the ultra fast lane While people behind me are going insane I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, what an asshole) I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, such an asshole) I use public toilets, and I piss on the seat I walk around in the Summer time, saying, "How about this heat?" I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, what an asshole) I'm an asshole (He's the world's biggest asshole) Sometimes, I park in handicapped spaces While handicapped people make handicapped faces I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, what an asshole) I'm an asshole (He's a real fucking asshole) Maybe I shouldn't be singing this song Ranting and raving and carrying on Maybe they're right when they tell me I'm wrong... Nah I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, what an asshole) I'm an asshole (He's the world's biggest asshole) You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna get myself a 1967 Cadillac Eldorado convertible Hot pink with whale skin hubcaps And all leather cow interior And big brown baby seal eyes for head lights (Yeah) And I'm gonna drive in that baby at 115 miles per hour Gettin' one mile per gallon Sucking down Quarter Pounder cheeseburgers from McDonald's In the old fashioned non-biodegradable styrofoam containers And when I'm done sucking down those greaseball burgers I'm gonna wipe my mouth with the American flag And then I'm gonna toss the styrofoam containers right out the side And there ain't a goddamn thing anybody can do about it You know why? Because we've got the bomb, that's why Two words: nuclear fucking weapons, okay? Russia, Germany, Romania, they can have all the democracy they want They can have a big democracy cakewalk Right through the middle of Tiananmen Square And it won't make a lick of difference Because we've got the bombs, okay? John Wayne's not dead, he's frozen And as soon as we find a cure for cancer We're gonna thaw out the Duke, and he's gonna be pretty pissed off You know why? Have you ever taken a cold shower? Well, multiply that by fifteen million times That's how pissed off the Duke's gonna be I'm gonna get the Duke, and John Cassavetes And Lee Marvin, and Sam Peckinpah, and a case of whiskey And drive down to Texas and (Hey! You know, you really are an asshole!) Why don't you just shut up and sing the song, pal? I'm an asshole (He's an asshole, what an asshole) I'm an asshole (He's the world's biggest asshole) A-S-S-H-O-L-E Everybody A-S-S-H-O-L-E I'm an asshole, and I'm proud of it

  31. There was nothing incorrect in the story I posted the link to. It also was in no way controversial. You clowns harp about mainstream media then complain when alternate citations are proffered for news. It's very transparent why a couple of you did complain, and it wasn't about the accuracy of what was being reported. Friday is a Holiday, Silver Dollar has an all day extravaganza scheduled in the alley, sunset rule has been waived. What time can you and @DE be there? I'll make the reservation.

Gonzo strikes me as the type of guy that sifts through websites LOOKING for the most controversial one so that he can get a reaction while he mixes his Metamucil in the AM…then sits back and watches the fireworks while pulling up his tube socks for pickle ball. HE doesn’t believe most of the nonsense he posts but it’s better to be controversial and interesting than it is correct.

  39. No one, or I should say no one in Sectional 28, was surprised when Chatard ended up in 4A in Roncalli's sectional. No one from that sectional will be surprised to see Brebeuf end up in there with Roncalli either. And certainly seeing Chatard back with Guerin. The only thing that would somewhat surprise me, but wouldn't put it past the IHSAA, is finding a way to get LCC into Sectional 28 with Chatard, Guerin, West Lafayette. 😃

  40. We go three times per week. We have an hour per day scheduled in the weight room and an hour and a half for field work. The weight room is also available earlier for a couple of hours to accommodate players schedules. But we are a mid sized 3A school. Different schools have different needs.

  46. MISERY loves company. Thanks to there other 9 Big 10 teams to join my Boilers..... tough first weekend.... no doubt. interesting stat: PU is 17-3 in 1st round games here in their last 20... the 3 losses, 2014,2015, 2021: ALL IN OT. this team exceeded EVERYONE's expectations this year, sucks to go out the way they did, but they have not been shooting the ball very well since Sasha went out with Covid, and the lack of making shots from 3 from working off the post was a huge issue last month . IVEY stock was bought by me way back in December 😀

  47. I’ve done a lot of work in the healthcare field from the buildout standpoint. What you typically find is there is a mishmash of corporate entities in any given hospital enterprise. Some are for profit and others are not. For instance locally there is a company that owns all of the hospital’s real estate, they are for profit. While the hospital itself is non-profit. You also have various subsets within the hospital that are for profit, for instance if the ER is staffed out of house, or radiology I believe is require by law to have a third party read test results, etc. Long story short it’s very difficult to say it is or isn’t a non-profit business.
