  1. The problem with us East fans is we’ve been overly spoiled by 17 seasons of tremendous success. I barely remember East football before 2004 because I didn’t have a reason to follow them. My love of high school sports didn’t begin until I was in high school. We went 7-5 my freshman year (2003 season) and then the team took off after that. I’m not going to get on here and bash Coach Vogel though. I know the guy and am aware of how much he contributed to the success of the team behind Coach Gaddis. To be fair to him, this team has the least amount of talent and depth I’ve seen (Again, I didn’t truly start following until 2003). We should’ve seen this downfall coming. I think we did but most of us didn’t want to accept it. On the flip-side, I’m not seeing the same amount of energy or swagger I’m used to seeing from East. I’m with @Olympian06 in that I also believe Gaddis would’ve figured out how to protect the lead last night and pull out a win. Regardless, this team was going to lose an HHC game whether it was last night or sometime down the road this season. The players are the ones that have to execute the game plan and they just seem to lack the talent to do so. My biggest concern about all of this is we have a very fickle fan base. When we aren’t winning, we don’t show up unless it’s the rivalry game against Columbus North. The new home stands that were built before the 2014 season, I’ve slowly seen them become less and less filled since 2018, maybe 2019. A bad East team is really going to hurt attendance. On top of that, there’s not a lot of excitement anyway because the students aren’t allowed to be. Not going to name any names for the reason why but, in my opinion, it’s ridiculous and only hurts us. Nevertheless, I’ll still be at East games when I can. That won’t change. And if we are going to fall off the HHC pedestal, I hope more fans of other HHC teams will join or return to this message board. I like the five of you or so who get on here and interact, but it would be nice to see fans of Seymour, Jennings County, New Albany, and Jeffersonville as well.

  2. You are a typical FC fan.....play a soft schedule so you can talk about your precious wins and losses, and complain when the competition gets ratcheted up to get better. If I gave a damn, I'd go back and find all of the mentions you have provided over the years about how much you love Bragg and the staff. You are the epitome of a Floyd Central fan. You know nothing of what you speak when it comes to personnel, you know nothing about what goes on in that locker room and in coaching meetings or at practice, but you sure seem to have all the answers. You provided numerous laughs among the coaches from your ridiculous rantings over the years. Voices from the Stands, starring Fkfootball. Go fill out an application and help coach since you know so much. But I know it's easier to just show up on Friday's, have a little bitch session with your buddies in the stands about how bad the coaches are, and then blast them sitting behind a computer screen.

  3. That's probably what they said about the 14 currently active players from there in the NFL. That's 1 more than IU has

  4. They’ll get better coaching, nutrition, training, and education going to college early. Plus NIL money so why not go early if you can? we have selfish fans who care more about the high school teams then individuals so understandable why they might not like this trend

  5. This is actually a fairly common scenario, and the tip-off is that it was a QB sneak. By not coming set before the ball was snapped, the QB gets a rolling start … which is an unfair advantage. This is a foul. The more interesting question from the officials’ standpoint is: exactly what foul is it? The talk about stopping for 1 second is significant, but perhaps not for the reason you think. The QB was, in effect, in motion at the snap. His motion was illegal because it was forward. Even if he actually came to a brief stop, but not for a second, he would be considered to still be in motion. So, the proper call is illegal motion, not illegal shift, a live ball foul at the snap. Play continues until the down is over. But … There is also a school of thought out there with the philosophy that we don’t want to run unnecessary plays or replay downs. So, if you can call something a pre-snap dead ball foul — like false start — that is preferable. Proponents of that philosophy — including the rebel group’s leading proponent @JustRules — might call this a false start, on the theory that the QB’s movement was the “start” of the play, but the ball had not been snapped.

  6. Chatard is the best winless team in the state. I don’t care what @Lysandersays.

  8. It’s a Husky tradition for the team to eat breakfast at Erika’s Place in Cicero on game day. They usually meet at 6 am before school, but since today is an elearning day, they met at 9. My kids brought brunch home for me, one of Erika’s famous Breaded Pork Tenderloins. The mustard is on the bottom side.

  9. Let's stop pretending that what they've done the first three weeks isn't impressive. Congrats the the Pirates on a fine start to the season.

  10. No and no there are up to 6 eligibles on every play. The 4 players in the backfield and the 2 widest guys on the LOS (widest on each side). The slot receiver in above is covered to ineligible even though there are only 3 players in backfield. if he goes downfield and pass is beyond the LOS it is ineligible downfield if he catches a screen pass it is illegal touching.

  11. I was laughing at some of the predictions also. If those 2 played 10 times I wouldn’t be surprised if it was an even split. As far as being in the NIC I think logistically it makes sense, but I’d love to see them make a move.

  12. That's generous, I will be happy if it's not a running clock in the 2nd half. Chatard has shown they will fight until the end, but the Roncalli game showed just how outmatched they are physically this year. Cathedral has Roncalli's size plus great athletes at every position. Chatard will have to wait at least one more week to get their first win.

  13. Sure. While they're 18. Then regret it for the rest of their lives.

  14. Yep. I ran off to spend more time with my own kids who are now all in school. They are right across the street from me. I don't care. Truly I don't. I just like to call a spade a spade when I see one. Your incoherent and flip-flop rants don't normally bother me, seeing as how your knowledge of the game compared to the coaches on the field is the equivalent of a butter knife in a dual. BTW, Bragg never scheduled Male or Manual. And football is 100% funded by fundraisers and the booster club. But I'm sure you already knew all that because your a donor and as such are knowledgeable about the inner workings of all things FC.

  16. What? I want kids to enjoy their senior year of high school. Those memories will outlast their playing career. I also want to make sure they are mature enough to handle what awaits them on a big college campus. Selfish? Hardly.

  19. Crown Point already has over 2800 students. How many do you need to "kill everyone"?

  20. I’m not at all sure that’s what happened. It does not appear that the K player ever actually possessed the ball. The only question then is whether the ball broke the plane of the goal line. Can’t really tell from that angle. If the K player did grab the ball in the field of play while airborne, and landed in the end zone with the ball having broken the plane, that’s a touchback. He hasn’t completed the recovery until he returns to the ground, so when the ball broke the plane, it was still a kick. Which brings me to the real substance of my post: that is absolutely terrible officiating by that back judge. He should be nailed to the goal line in that situation. If the ball was either possessed or touched by the K player in the field of play, there should be a beanbag at that spot. If the ball broke the plane, he should signal the touchback. After the play was over, he needs to kill the clock, and point in the direction the receivers will be going. And he needs to look like he gives a s*it while doing it.

  24. Agree - I didn't say winning out would be easy but with our defense alone I like our chances. We really need to be prepared for Chatard on Friday as records are typically meaningless for rivalry games.

  26. I do love Coach Bragg. Coach Bragg is a heck of a guy. I respect him tremendously. And I know he’s your friend. But this program is going backwards. I have a much bigger issue with them thinking they can play against Louisville Schools and they can’t even cross the 40 yard line against Silver Creek. Id like for someone to tell me, how getting your @@@ kicked 3 times in a row, is making anyone better? I boost money into that school. My family boosts money into that school. So yeah, I have a right to be irritated.

  27. Three team race for DAC, but the whipping of Crown Point last night sent shockwaves around the Region. Chesterton had an impressive last minute win last night over Michigan City, and Valpo is in great form offensively.

  35. Yeah, the Panthers got off to a fast start and looked like they were going to run away with the game and then they started shooting themselves in the foot with major penalties and TH North didn't do themselves any favors either in the game. They had some defensive mix ups/breakdowns in the secondary tonight that needs to be addressed and I don't know what happened since you couldn't really get a good camera angle on what happened in the game.

  36. Wow. Chris Mullen escapes a sack and fires a deep strike to the end zone, putting Chesterton up 27-20 with 43 seconds left

  39. Kiser named the starter against FSU. You have got to love everything about this story and this kid. He embodies everything that’s good about our game. https://www.si.com/college/notredame/football/notre-dame-football-jack-kiser-ready-to-shine For some reason I’m unable to post the text of the story. But there’s a video clip worth watching.
