There seem to be a few posters on the GID today that may have over-indulged themselves last night or, through no fault of their own😏, were over-served...5 points

From a Facebook post: What do you do when about three to four inches of snow covers your football field on the day you are hosting a Regional? For the Southridge Raiders, you put out a call for help. After the word went out on Facebook, an army of snowblowers, shovels, and more showed up to help get the field cleared off. Southridge Raider Football Team will take on the Lawrenceburg Tigers for the 3A IHSAA Regional Contest on Raider Field @ 5:00 PM EST.3 points

As a Chatard fan, it was a lot of fun watching Kolton Nanko (Yorktown) play his heart out last night. What a tough kid who absolutely played his tail off. Not really sure how he kept dragging himself back up off of the turf but it showed a lot of heart. In a dog fight I’d put my money on him as a “last dog standing” every time. I’m sure their entire team gave their all as they played penalty free football (which shows discipline and focus) but he really stands out. That kid has a future in football for sure. Good luck to him and the rest of their seniors and thanks for a fun game.3 points

It’s ridiculous to call New Pal a paper tiger. There’s no way you’ve seen them play if you think that. They are monstrous. Literally. They were the most physical team I’ve seen in a long time - like old school GCL mean. There are only a handful of teams in the state that could compete with them and none for which a victory could be assured ahead of kickoff.2 points

Congrats to the orange Tigers. SE IN flipped the script on SW IN this year.2 points

What about when the referee mishandled the ball at half tIme and cost Roncalli the opportunity for a field goal (literally dropped it off his foot). Or the numerous holding calls on the edge of the pocket on key third downs that were missed? Or the no call on the pass interference on Roncalli’s drive immediately following their second score? Or the numerous spots NP benefited from both with and without the ball on key third downs? I’m sure New Pal fans can come up with a similar litany of times they were hosed. Both teams played their hearts out. The officials were balanced at worst.2 points

Glad I could drag you out of the shadows! Always good to see all is well and Lysander posting!2 points

I agree that our crowd was not up to par. It's a shame because our kids played with a lot of heart and battled a clearly superior opponent for 48 mins.2 points

And on the other side of that, Monrovia played great, their defense gave up yards between the 20's but really played well inside the 20 holding OV to 3 scores, the goal line stance at the end of the 1st half was huge for Monrovia and of course the one to end the game. When you play a great offense like OV you're gonna give up some plays at times which Monrovia did but their defense was really good once inside the 20. Bravo to the Bulldog's! Happy to see titles being won again in Monrovia! Espacially at the 3A level..2 points

Congrats to both teams but as someone who still has Enlow PTSD was I mistaken in thinking there wasn’t a literal ocean of people in the Enlow stands like year’s past. I, perhaps mistakenly, recall those stands as being full to the brim during the various whoopings my beloved Trojans were bestowed there.2 points

I think East Central will have something to say next week as long as they hold onto the ball.2 points

The Roncalli folks I’ve talked to disagree with your assessment, but doesn’t really matter at this point.1 point

I’ve seen both this clip and the sideline Hudl view. Neither is helpful. You can’t see most of the runner’s body on the end zone view, and the sideline view is from the opposite side of the field. The runner’s body is between the camera and the football. The one thing I did notice was that the linesman is coming in about to make a very emphatic “down” signal, and he had a better view than either of the video angles. I don’t think there’s much of a controversy here.1 point

Kudos to Monrovia for coming into our house with a game plan and executing it to perfection. They ran the ball straight down our throat and made the big plays when they needed them all night. Owen Valley didn't make the adjustments and straight up got out coached and out played. Good luck at semi state Bulldogs! Bring it home On a side note, we need to get replays brought into the game during the playoffs. There's been several calls throughout the postseason that deserved a second look because the refs blew the call. I'm talking blatant horrible calls/no calls.1 point

They paid the Middies with the whole second half today! Watching Navy football is tedious!1 point

Congrats to the Tigers for a really good season. It is a testament to how high the bar has been set by recent teams when a Regional appearance seems to be a bit of a let down for some. Considering how the season began, IMO the Tigers did themselves proud getting to the Regional. They just ran into a better team last night.1 point

That was a rout by the Slicers, I think their back, Charles Salary run for over 200 yards. That was a talented Snider team, young though I believe, they went on and won state the next year.1 point

I’m a fan of both EC and Roncalli but EC probably should have won that earlier game this year. Lots of self-inflicted injuries by EC in that game. In my opinion, NP, Roncalli and EC are far and away the top 3 teams in 4A (with, apparently, Brebeuf not too far behind). The South continues its domination of 4A.1 point

Just glad this is a semi state match up...for once the sectional alignment/draw got this one right. Can't wait to see.1 point

Four turnovers on downs - three inside the 35 yard line (and twice on fourth-and-1). Just struggled to sustain anything offensively tonight. Congrats to Roncalli - their line dominated the game and they should be fitting themselves for rings in two weeks. It's a shame geography meant this game was played this week instead of on Thanksgiving weekend. Next season starts tomorrow. NP graduates a huge, talented senior class but has a very good freshman and eighth grade group. Will have to replace 4/5 of the offensive line, the QB and the top two receivers on offense, as well as the entire LB corps on defense.1 point

I wouldn't pencil in Reitz in a Regional until they actually win more than 2 games in a Sectional..1 point

this game was dominated on both lines of scrimmage by the Rebels. period. Congrats to Roncalli.1 point

Linton hasn't played a clean game all year. We have spurts every game we look unstoppable, but also spurts we look very beatable. Hard to explain. Has to be 4 quarters of our best football next Friday or we don't stand a chance.1 point

@StinkTownClown Stink- If you and the crew are looking for chicks and don't mind Catholic girls, then by all means you gotta stop in Ferdinand. Its right on your way and there is a dormitory on a hill that is just crawling with nothing but women of all ages and they're all sisters. And they even make their own brew. It might just be a dream experience for you and the crew. Here's a link to their website... https://thedome.org/1 point

I just forgot about this last week. Was on a road trip to watch my daughter play in her 1st College basketball game.1 point

That was floating around but is incorrect. Their first-round game was drawn to be at Shortridge and was Shortridge's home game. At IPS/Shortridge's request, it was moved to Roncalli due to the better field and larger stands (the visitor's side at Roncalli has more seats than Shortridge's field has at all). Even though the game was moved, it remained a Shortridge home game. Because Roncalli was the "visiting" team and Attucks the "home" team in the first week of the sectional, Roncalli was the host team for the second round game against Attucks. Some might have interpreted that as an Attucks home game because it was in the bottom bracket and both teams were home the previous week, but Roncalli's game was a designated road game. Attucks plays its home games at the old Northwest HS, which has an old facility but is adequate for this level of game. Even if New Pal had played a road game, regional and semistate host is only based on who was home/away the previous round - both teams were home, and the odd-numbered sectionals have the tiebreaker when that's the case, so Roncalli would have hosted even if its Week 1 game had truly been a home game (there is a caveat for semistate that if one of the teams has not hosted the sectional final or regional, it would host the semistate).1 point

I believe the Attucks game was a scheduled Roncalli home game, but Shortridge was a designated road game that Shortridge agreed to move to Roncalli.1 point

So what does the University have to do with whom won? Bell went to Purdue and Kiser at Notre Dame. Seems both University are good at Academics, You referenced NFL money which means ones in NFL and one is still playing College Ball. You seem to be the one interested in drama1 point
