Fingers crossed, this will be the first HH game I'll have attended since 2015, I believe.

Who are some players in the running for Mr. Football currently? I know Garrett Sherrell for Brownsburg seems to be filling up the stat sheet against some of the best competition in the state. Through 5 games he has 129 carries for 1049 yards and 13 TDs. Averaging 8.1 yards a carry. To go along with 3 catches for 144 yards and 2 additional TDs. Thoughts?

I think if we combine the teams in sectional 24 East Central would only be a 2 TD favorite.

Would they be playing a potential regional game in a parking lot, on grass, or on field turf? I need to know more prior to making my pick... Also, how close does one team have to be close to a major metropolitan city for them to be considered in the "city speed > country speed" discussion? Asking for a friend... I'm worried about the LN/Ben Davis game. The Giants cannot play anywhere close to the way they did against Warren and be successful. That said, with all the mistakes, that's a game they would have lost in the recent past. They got lucky, and they did enough to win. I agree largely with your picks. Poor North Central. In 2019, they were MIC co-champs. In 2020, they were competitive and in the hunt. The drop has been precipitous. Hopefully Derek Hart can turn it around.

I'd say Josh Ringer RB East Central is probably the early front runner. On pace for a 2500+ yard season and 50+ TDs. Plays on arguably the best team regardless of class that should go 15-0 en route to a 4A state championship.

They have several P5 recruits and beat Trinity earlier this year although Trinity may be down. Thinking the Irish will need to play extremely well, turnover-free football to win.

Nobody in 4A is going to beat EC. Put it this way: Cincy Moeller beat Dwenger something like 57-0. 6A Center Grove needed OT to beat Moeller by 1. EC beat Moeller 38-28. EC was phenomenal last year. And they returned a lot of kids.

Both Parke County teams kept it close last week, and you know this princess was hoping for an upset between the Woofs and the Seegers. I was very disappointed when those Woofs didn't pull the upset so I could eat my words for picking the Seegers last week. I'm pretty sad that in his driving around, @Donnie Baker didn't find me or @Lucy Draper. I'm pretty hard to miss in Parke County with my princess dress always on. They just don't make princes like they used to, with eyes of all things, I guess. From what I've gathered Attica played a clean game, which does deserve a shout-out. I'm glad they're receiving that shout-out. Coach King was in typical fashion of trying to take it easy when he needed to. He definitely COULD have run up the score, but there was no need. Glad to see the Mustangs having fun-- even letting the linemen have the ball. Who would've thought?! The Princess's Picks this week: North Vermilions at Attica-- North Vermilions walks away easily with this W. Hopefully North Vermilions will be somewhat merciful on the Ramblers once they get up on them. The Woofs at Covington-- This game could be the wildcard game at the bottom of the conference. Covington's injuries have plagued them this year, which is unfortunate for their first year HC. I think it will be Covington on top of the Woofs by a close margin. Seegers at Fountain Centrals-- game of the week for sure. It will be close. While I know Coach King will be chompin' at the bit to get this W, I think his 'Stangs are right there with him on the want for revenge. Last season, this game was decided by ONE point. In watching Coach King in the past, he'll do everything he can to not only get the W but to make sure his team has no question left on either side of the ball while they go battle the Seegers. I'm taking the 'Stangs to win this one AND take their first Bi-County title in a number of years and still be in the running for a WRC title. I would apologize to @Ballhawk for not picking his family's old stomping grounds. But I'm not sorry, and I was always taught to not apologize unless you're sorry. South Vermilions at Riverton Parkes-- I do not like southern Parke County (Sorry, Lucy Draper). Never have. Never will. I'm a Woof princess through and through. Also, have I told you how much I like visors? Because I really like them. So I'm guessing SV continues their dominance of a majority 1A conference and takes the W over the Panthers.

Looks like the IHSAA did a NW/SE cut for the North/South in the last classification. I suspect they started from the south and realized that, since Zionsville had moved to 6A finally, when they got to Plainfield and Decatur Central, they needed another two teams to make four in that sectional. Anderson ended up odd-man-out and got put in with the three Fort Wayne guys and TSC schools, Harrison and McCutcheon, were the other two schools closest to Indy.

Only 21-0 at half. Do better EC.

I am going to give much credit to North Posey. I'm guessing they are going to give Southridge all they want. Great team. If not for a couple penalties and a couple mental errors, this could have been a different outcome. @Cappy Good luck in sectionals....that is a good team and I'm really glad for a couple slip ups....

I don’t know about Jasper at 6. While I know it is splitting hairs at this point, I think they should be at least 5, if not 4. Both North and Jasper have played Memorial and Reitz (their only two losses, Castle has not played either of those teams, and has already had two losses hung on them by the field. There is a real possibility Castle gets three more L’s this season.

Plainfield or Harrison would be who I’d predict. Think the Bloomington schools are pretenders.

I personally believe that nobody in the South is better than last year's Whiteland however teams such as Plainfield and Bloomington South are capable of playing them close.

I think he'll get a chance to compete for the starting spot next year if Fisher decides not to play football, but he'll be a back-up this year.

I was down there at the beginning of the season for a MS game. Played two games and I don’t recall an issues with numbers, but frankly I’m old and can’t remember what I was doing five minutes ago.

Fair. He definitely will have the opportunity to fill up the stat sheet against some of the competition they will play throughout conference play now, as well. I don't think I am taking EC over BD, Burg, or CG though.

Plainfield has to get by Harrison (again) and most likely 1 of the 2 Bloomington schools. They're in a good position as of now, but would be underdogs against Bloomington South (according to Sagarin). Hope they can keep up the great season and keep winning 1 game at a time.

Lot of ranked matchups this week including Ohio state vs Notre Dame, Oregon vs Colorado, Alabama vs Ole Miss, Florida State vs Clemson, UCLA vs Utah, Penn St vs Iowa And Washington state vs Oregon St

Can he call plays? Walt Bell is awful and will yet again be the downfall of what should be another disappointing season. That 4th and G play all alone should be a fireable offense.

While I wasn't 100% bought into the Northwood hype going into the season. I am surprised they are sitting at 3-2 and essentially eliminated from an NLC title 3 games into the conference season. I thought they'd be fine until the weather turns bad during the post-season, didn't think it would happen this early. It will be interesting to see what the Panthers are made of going forward. They have an opportunity to learn and grow from the early setbacks and use this as a wake-up call that leads to a nice playoff run (essentially reversing last years fortunes). Or have one of the biggest let-downs of a seasons I can remember from a Michiana area team.

To be fair, the Saints got hammered by Carroll and will get hammered by Snider in a couple weeks so I am not on the Saints bandwagon. Leo and East Noble are better than Dwenger this year
