  1. No disrespect to Donovan Hamilton, but to not select Noah Coy or Nitro Tuggle as the WR is a joke.

  7. Patsy Central? They scheduled LSU and Florida in the non-conference. Name another P5 team in America that scheduled two SEC opponents in the non-conference. It’s not FSU’s fault Florida sucks. They went 13-0 in a P5 conference on top of playing LSU and Florida. That should get you in the CFP every damn year. The CFP has made it clear on-field results no longer matter. This is the end of the ACC is we know it. Clemson, Miami, FSU are on the first flight out.

  14. Doubtful. This is 100% a lose-lose for Florida State, especially if some of the top guys opt out for them like I think they will. Beat Georgia and it's because Georgia didn't care and had players op out. Lose to Georgia and hear for the next 6 months that the committee got it right. I still maintain that if Alabama had lost to any other team in the country not named Texas, even if it was UT-Chattanooga, they would have been in along with FSU. The only reason FSU was left out is because the committee couldn't justify putting Alabama in over Texas given the head to head result.

  15. If it's the four best teams, then Georgia should be in. If it's based on field of play and what they earn, the Alabama should be out. Like I said earlier, the committee needs to pick a lane and stay in it. I still think they were "terrified" of the bible belt aftermath if they left the SEC out.

  16. FSU: -Beat more bowl eligible teams than any team in the country -Beat as many teams in the CFP top 25 as Michigan, Georgia and Texas -Had a better strength of record than both Texas and Alabama Me thinks you don't know what you're talking about.

  19. Exactly. Reitz or Jasper will probably win the sectional and then be the favorite in the regional. Semi-State would probably be quite the roadblock with the winner of New Pal/Roncalli/Chatard.

  20. Great question? His stats above against the level of competition he played against as well..... Did the young man from HSE have better stats? I hope it was not because they didn't want to award 2 kids from the same school or because he's playing baseball at ND.

  23. No disrespect to the players at all, but I do find it a bit frustrating that kids get placed on all-star teams and lists in positions that they don’t play. For kids that actually played the positions and had great seasons, it has to be a real bummer.

  24. I love that the Committe admitted the health of Travis played a part in their rankings. Especially since they ranked FSU ahead of Georgia. So, FSU without Jordan Travis is better than Georgia? Ok. Glad we're going to an expanded playoff next year. It'll have it's faults but it beats this quagmire.

  26. Thanks for doing these! Great info. How about Castle? Led the conference in scoring offense but gave up the most yards. Well, we know what their focus will be for next season. Fortunately for them, I believe they return a good amount of defensive players, so I think they will be improved in that regard. Another thing I noticed looking at it...Reitz had another impressive statistical season, no doubt. The one outlier for them? Rushing offense. Now, I do think they will be pretty good again next season. But they definitely need to establish some sort of rushing attack if they want to break through and get to that next level. If they want to run their perimeter screens and spread the ball downfield, they need a rushing threat to open up the field more or to fall back on at the least. Good run game seems to be a common denominator among all the teams that made deep playoff runs. Just my two pennies worth.

  28. Im sure the "alliance" that B10/P12/ACC held together didn't factor at all. If you remember 12 teams was supposed to be this year, but this gentleman alliance created by B10 with P12 and ACC to uphold the ACADEMIC (laughable) integrity of the NCAA during all of this was probably part of the algorithm It stinks to high ever, like @temptation said, why would guys like FISKE and #5 or #4 the other dude off the edge who is a high NFL prospect step onto the field for the Orange Bowl, insane if they do. I am on the spectrum of the entire university say no thanks and just pay the players what they would get in cash from the Orange Bowl swag....... it will be JV FSU vs JV Georgia......yippee

  29. Then why rank teams for 8 straight weeks if none of it is going to be considered? The committee knew 3 weeks ago Jordan Travis was out for the year yet still moved Florida State UP in the last regular season poll after Ohio State's loss from 5 to 4. How does #7 Texas jump #4 Florida State after Florida State beat a team ranked higher than the opponent Florida State just beat by the committee's OWN rankings? Make it make sense! If the CFP is all about eyeballs and ratings, just come out before the season starts and say these are the 4 teams that will be playing in the postseason because these are the 4 teams that we believe will draw the best ratings. Save everyone else the time and trouble.

  31. Welp - the woke are meeting the opposition they were trying to help..... https://www.fox5atlanta.com/sports/native-american-group-sues-washington-commanders-over-erasure-of-redskins-identity WASHINGTON - A Native American group filed a lawsuit against the Washington Commanders in federal court this morning that upends a long-standing cancel-culture narrative about racism in sports. The Native American Guardians Association (NAGA) accuses the NFL franchise and new owner Josh Harris of defamation, civil conspiracy and civil rights violations for their role in suppressing Native American history, in a complaint filed in the United States District Court of North Dakota. NAGA led a viral petition this summer demanding that the organization reclaim its traditional Redskins identity. It generated 150,000 signatures. "Commanders is a fitting name for oppressors," the suit stated. The group seeks $1.6 million in damages and "a seat at the table to share Native American history," plaintiff attorney Chad LaVeglia told Fox News Digital. "We believe the complaint is without merit, and we will address the matter in court," said a Commanders spokesperson. The complaint also names the powerful National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) for its role in erasing from public discussion the image and history of real Native Americans. The suit claims that the NCAI contributes to a legacy of cultural oppression suffered by indigenous peoples. "The name ‘Redskins’ carries deep cultural, historical, and emotional significance, honoring the bravery, resilience, and warrior spirit associated with Native American culture," the NAGA complaint states. The Redskins were, it adds, "the only team in the National Football League (NFL) to honor an actual Native American." Central to the NAGA argument is that the Redskins name and logo were inspired by real historic tribal leaders who played influential roles in American history and that this factual narrative was obliterated by the NCAI. The franchise adopted the name Redskins in 1933 and, since 1972, the team logo was a portrait of celebrated late Blackfoot Chief John Two Guns White Calf. Featured

  32. Nailed it. Embarrassing that the committee views a loss to a single player more damaging than an actual loss on the field. Basically told every single ACC team going forward that you don't control you own destiny and the only avenue to the CFP is hope and pray there are enough SEC/B10 teams with (several) losses in front of you.

  34. Good read about FSU's snub and I understand his view about Washington......would have been nice to give the PAC 12 their final Rose Bowl. Can argue Washington earned it. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39033710/cfp-anger-index-unpacking-outrage-florida-state-snub-2023 Then we moved to a four-team playoff, and the whole point was to eliminate the hypotheticals and let a champion be crowned by the actual results on the field. If you won your games, you had a chance to win a national title. Turns out, all of that was a charade. None of it mattered. The games are pointless. What happens on the field is less important than what a committee thinks might happen in a future matchup. It is an absolute slap in the face to every player who has ever put on a helmet, laced up cleats and marched onto the field to battle for a victory, because a bunch of folks in a conference room in Texas decided their sacrifice was not as important as the Las Vegas line on a potential playoff matchup. It's a joke. Let's be real about what happened here: The committee members couldn't leave the SEC out of the playoff. They didn't care that Alabama needed a miracle to avoid a loss to 6-6 Auburn two weeks ago. They didn't care that Georgia's own injuries -- playing with a banged-up Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers -- likely played a large part in why the Tide won Saturday. They didn't care that the ACC has a winning record, head-to-head, against the SEC this season. They didn't care that Alabama beat 2023 Georgia, not 2021 or 2022 Georgia. They cared that Alabama and the SEC had to have a spot in the playoff by birthright. And as a result, they sent a message that what happened on the field -- the blood, tears and sacrifice that players made all season to win every game on their schedule -- was less important than getting the most compelling TV matchup. But hey, there'll be a 12-team playoff next year, so all is forgiven, right?

  42. Not sure of the inference there, but frankly if a kid just wants to go to school and be done with it, I don't see anything wrong with that. That's his life. Had a lot of friends in school who just wanted to do their required school time and that was it. Never wanted to do a minute more than what was required by the state at or with the school ... everything else was "their" time. Some of them went home and played music in their own bands. Some read. Some worked. Some hung out at their local church or community center. More power to them. Frankly, the reasoning for not being active isn't really anyone's business.

I don't know about long-term and they've only played since 2006, but LCC has and will have a natural rivalry with Guerin since they are the only two Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana. LCC is the smaller, older brother and Guerin is the bigger, younger brother ... and you know how siblings can be.

  46. This legislation is a Trojan Horse. It doesn't take an oracle to see the future. This move is disguised as a way to stremline adminastration, but it won't be long before schools are forced to combine again when the state siphons off more money from small communities or passes more legislation to incentivive consolidated schools. The older genaration can tell many sad tales of once striving little burgs that lost their soul when their schools closed and combined 50-75 years ago.

  48. To be “technical”…Zionsville is further south than Carmel. Carmel sits on 131st (Main) st…Zionsville sits on what would be 121st if it went all the way thru. Both are further south than Westfield or Noblesville which both sit north of 32. HSE & Fishers always go together based on IHSAA desire to bracket schools in same district together. They are both off of 126th on opposite sides of 69. Of course IHSAA May decide to change things up and do something else for completely illogical reasons.🤷🏼‍♂️
