From what I’m seeing I think Brady just wants to be done with the recruiting process. he said in an interview earlier that he has been doing this recruiting process for 2 years now and just wants to focus on the teams goals. Those were his own words. Notre Dame also has a 5 ⭐️ QB for 2021 committed I believe. From the interviews today and what he has said about Purdue leading up to today....I think he just loves the place and sees himself in a great spot going there. I see no reason to think he will flip other than there is a coaching change....because he really loves the Brohms. it also probably helps that when Brady Visited last year for the Vanderbilt game, Sindelar threw for like 500 yards in that game....which if you have a QB on visit that is like a dream come true for the recruiting staff3 points

And the grind might well be rougher on smaller schools as you've got plenty of kids playing both ways and at some schools. It'll be tough on most kids, but the 1A kid who's the QB, safety, punter, kicker, and bus driver will be worn come Christmas of 2021.3 points

They are all in the same county; so county rivalries for small communities are not bad things.3 points

Here is where I think ihsaa is screwing up. Set attendance at on 50% to start the season. Schools should charge $10 to enter instead of $5. I'm not a technology advanced person but can you charge people to watch a YouTube channel? If so stream game and charge each person $10 to watch. I think everyone would be willing to help out the schools by paying 5 extra dollars to have football in fall and also get money to schools that need it.2 points

Since 2008 it is true Bellmont has not won a state title, but they had a nice run between 2011-2015. Two sectional championships, a co-conference championship (NE8), and big wins vs 6A Homestead, 4A East Noble, 4A New Haven, Concordia and Bishop Luers (All Ranked Teams) during that five year span. Not too shabby!2 points

Yes, but they have to attend school for a minimum of a single course and are subject to the same "on-campus" days that their non-homeschooled classmates are. They also have to pass the same state tests requirements as their non-homeschooled classmates. I would expect that one thing that might change with regard to the COVID situation is a rewording of IHSAA guidelines that is tied to "acceptable attendance" measures as determined by the school as tied to their general delivery methods ... i.e., if the school as a whole goes to online instruction, which they are able to count as DOE days for state funding purposes, then student athletes would be counted as "in class" for purposes of IHSAA eligibility. It would be something, since it would be tied to the general population delivery, that would likely only be enacted in extreme circumstances.2 points

If it's the likes of 3A schools like Chatard and West Lafayette, I'd think so2 points

I’ll give you some credit....only a HS football geek would go so far into the weeds that you’d dig deep into Belmont’s schedule and notice they open the season with 1A teams. Sounds like something I’d do. That said, once I realized it I wouldn’t have cared much either way given their record last year.2 points
-
Those two schools have beaten Bellmont for the last 4 seasons so I'd say that is solid competition for them to open with.2 points
-
I believe football in that little Adams County is pretty good. Those two 1A's are small competition compared to Bellmont, but they (AC/SA) play some pretty good football.2 points

Harrison was an early president but the controversy surrounds him leading the military against Native Americans before the was president.? I dont get the controversy. He was the 9th president of the USA...and he was governor of the Indiana Territory. He was fighting FOR the USA.. I would honor him. This revisionist push cant come to Indiana. We're by definition 'the land of the Indians" What about Chief Elkhart or Chief Wawasee? Indiana Princess Mishawaka.? What about General Anthony Wayne (for whom Fort Wayne is named)? What about John Newton, a soldier in the revolutionary war, for when Newton County (South and North Newton high schools) is named.? I'm sure they led battles where many died. Speaking for myself, I dont want to look into the background of everyone whose name adorns and school, town or county to find something that could be considered wrong in the modern day. I like the fact that Indiana honors both generals and Native Americans.2 points

Now, you're talking, coach!!! When we get to the playoffs, half the classes play Friday and the other half play Saturday. 😉 (and the world will be a better place)1 point

Up here, Portage announces Wednesday (7-15-20) that they will have no in-school classes for the first nine weeks (beginning Aug. 12) .. Portage Township has 7,000 students. All athletics have been suspended. Lake County (LC, Crown Point, Munster, Lowell, Merrillville, etc.) has not done that. They still plan to open.1 point

Correct. I'm confident a Wal Mart "Health Ambassador" will inform an incoming customer of the mask requirement and the result will be similar to the video.1 point

Indianapolis implemented a mandatory public mask policy last Thursday. A lot of business owners and their staff are not complying. I went to Kroger yesterday and there was a Marion County Sheriff's Deputy and a Beech Grove Police officer in uniform and neither one were wearing a mask. The Wal Mart in Beech Grove is a massive Super Center. I expect some fireworks starting next Monday.1 point

I agree with you philosophically. However, this was not — as is usually the case — a situation of short-sighted planning. This was truly unforeseeable, and the shortfall represents money that has, in essence, already been spent. My only real concern is a practical concern: once you give the government something, it can be awfully hard to get it back when the crisis is over.1 point

They are the ones most likely at risk. That's understandable. There are a lot of studies out there, but the one I believe says students (especially elementary) are very unlikely to contract and/or spread the disease especially to adults. But there is still a risk between the adult staff.1 point

The public was not allowed to attend. Only family members who were given tickets by the players. Everyone was screened before the practices and everyone was screened before entering the gate for the game. It was streamed on indianasportsnetwork.com. I don't know all the details. That's all I was told. As far as I know, no one tested positive.1 point

Yes, a county football rivalry, but one that only started up again within the last 3 years as the Frankfort football program fortunes continued to decline. Prior to this the Hot Dogs non-conference schedule included mostly quality programs like Tipton, Western, Logansport, and Twin Lakes. CC and CP smell 'blood in the water' and a chance to defeat a hated larger county school while its fortunes are down, while FHS hope eking out a win against a much smaller opponent will inject much needed confidence into a moribund program.1 point

In NCAA lacrosse, the top 20 DIII teams could compete in DI. In fact, just a few years back, perennial DIII lacrosse champ Salisbury, beat top ranked DI Duke in a preseason scrimmage. More specifically, at year end last year, Sags had a 3A team as the 6th best team in the State overall (5th in “Predictor”). Just a few years ago, when 1A LCC was on its several championships runs, I’d challenge anyone to say they weren’t among the top 20 teams in the State all classes.1 point

I believe the charts are based on what was reported. I wish the reporters would have dug in deeper. My guess is these particular agencies mostly just reported positive cases and not just tests. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt to say it wasn't intentional. So if they reported 98% positive and 521 cases, but are now saying they only had a 9.4% positive rate, they probably mis-reported the total number tested. If that's true the case numbers are still accurate the percentage positive is off. The other possibility is the number tested accidentally also got fed to into the positive column. If that's true then the number of cases will be lower. There is a common term in data analysis...garbage in garbage out. Big data is complicated and accurately reporting on it is complicated. This is a glaring example of that. Things get classified wrong, queries are inaccurate, human error if forms are being completed manually. Just because the numbers are wrong doesn't mean it was intentional. Investigate and determine the cause. My guess is ultimately this was a system or process issue and not some intent to mislead.1 point

Here's your link https://www.change.org/p/eric-j-holcomb-indiana-for-the-safe-return-to-schools?recruiter=909614038&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=psf_combo_share_abi&utm_term=psf_combo_share_initial&recruited_by_id=e70cf530-de31-11e8-ad1b-b11cd2c2db4a&utm_content=fht-23371659-en-us%3A1 I'm not sure why you think I have a lack of respect for teachers. I am just pointing out what I see. In fact I have a teaching degree, and I taught for years before I got into my profession now. You cant act like I'm being unfair. Teachers are demanding that they get to stay home. In my book they are essential workers. I am an essential worker and so is my wife. If I would have told my work that I would not deal with a covid + patient, they would have sent me packing. Why all of the sudden to teachers get to demand things, like staying at home. If we elearn my wife will have to drop hrs at work. Now she makes 43.76 an hour. How is that fair at all? Teachers demands will hurt families more and more as they get to sit home and get full pay.. petitiom says hazard pay?!?! Hahaha.. why didn't I get that? My wife? We both cared for COVID positive patients. But they want it because they can't stay home. Its unreal.1 point

If the season is pushed to the spring.....I really see nothing wrong with it........in the fall we start in warm weather and end in cold......just be the reverse in the spring......the real advantage will be with the spread offenses getting to play in the warmer spring weather during the play-offs, as a opposed to the terrible late October and November weather......that can hinder that style of attack1 point

Has anyone seen instructions/protocol for cleaning of endzone cameras after normal Friday night use? Picture, if you will: It's a cold, rainy October Friday night. Following a Sectional game, the endzone cameraperson gets a sore throat and a cough. They are feeling under the weather, but this happens during football season with the weather being what it is. Cameraperson A calls on their back-up for the big Sectional Championship. Cameraperson B fills in nobly for Cameraperson A, but following the game, they start to feel sick. They end up testing positive for Covid-19, which they were infected with by using the Endzone camera that wasn't properly sanitized from the week before. How do we avoid this Endzone camera Covid transmission?1 point

based on Twitter, then entire state of Indiana Football got better yesterday and overwhelmingly excited to "Be Back" 😀 Trust me I love all the positive vibes, but I have only seen one time where a coach posted something opposite of rainbows and unicorns and I thank @Coach Jennings for that a few years ago. Our Day 1 went well. We are taking the slow and steady approach, which I would imagine is what the majority of the state is doing. I think everyone in our coaching profession understands you cannot make up 4 months in 1 day, 1 week, etc.1 point
