I quit paying attention to him after his second retirement. Anyone advocating the contraction of HS Football programs clearly does not understand the point of a HS Football forum. I assure everyone, Roncalli will be fine. Coach Rosenberg will be fine, and the sun will most assuredly come up tomorrow.3 points

As an unabashed Brady fan, the most amazing thing to me is that he has played the position at the very highest level, even as the position has evolved dramatically over time. Playing QB in the NFL in 2021 is nothing like playing the position in 2000. Yet, he was able to evolve and maintain over that dramatic change in the skill set needed to play at that level.2 points

I for one hope VL finds their way back on our schedule. Lots of good, old-fashioned, clean hate between our two schools.2 points

John Rodenberg was the easiest coach to work with I've ever known. I had a conversation with another assistant coach today where he stated, “John has been an absolute dream to work for!” As for bouncing around, he was at Moeller for twelve years before resigning after two difficult seasons. He admittedly struggled to implement his style of culture at Lawrence Central, but went 25-2 at Roncalli. His kids and grand kids are in Cincinnati, where he has spent his entire life. The community he will be serving is widely considered the most desirable place to live in the Midwest (median household income is north of $215k). He’s likely going to make significantly more money as well. So, no, Tim he’s not difficult to work with.2 points

Jasper has the perfect home and they won't leave any time soon. 812hoops does some amazing things for local kids and their exposure but this suggestion was really really dumb. There are several divisional conferences in the state. I say add Tecumseh to Small school PAC and Vincennes to Big school PAC and call it a day. Scheduling just got a little easier in the PAC and the SIAC gains some much needed non-conference matchups. Seems like a win, win, win.2 points

Its' a DAMNED shame that in a league 70% (+/-) African-American. in 2022 there is only ONE Head Coach that reflects any ability for those who would even choose to think about their future within the NFL beyond that of an "assistant" continue to use the guise of the Rooney Rule to circumvent and continue the old-boys network as a way to further their idiotic hiring practices.... Eric Bieniemy should have been hired 3 years ago as a HC in the NFL! The Jaguars "may" hire Byron Leftwich as their HC....again "MAY". That's IT! The NFL has done a better job with their officials (selection/promotion) in giving/providing a diverse representation to the those of us on that end of the spectrum; Than anything the ''OWNERS" have ever done in trying to find and promote those within a minority community to lead their franchises. SAME OLE, SAME OLE.... Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Recycled, and not updated! But with the same 'suit". 🤬1 point

Not at all lol every year I’m like “oh cathedral is playing for a state title? No surprise” this last year I was at LOS but the Gibson Southern vs Brebeuf game ran for probably 4 hours almost and I had a good drive to make and traffic to beat out of there.1 point

How long before we reach the point when it is just important to recruit the transfer portal as it is to recruit high schoolers?1 point

Ask any of the ‘85 Bears who the best player on their defense was, the guy who really made it go. There were multiple Hall of Famers on that defense, but on this question there is unanimity.1 point

I will stand by my claim....Singletary is one of the best ever to play the position, and was definitely not overrated.1 point

My dad (Schurz HS) played against Butkus (Vocational HS) in the Chicago Public League. The way he described it sounded very painful.1 point

This is just crazy talk....well of course the OLB's were better athletes.....that is called good coaching. Put the better athletes outside. But to say he was underrated is just silly. I will say, he was better than Butkus. Spend some time learning about Singletary. He understood the entire defense. He was a coach on the field. He was the heart of that defense. He was tough taking on blocks, including double teams. While he was undersized, he was powerful and hit as hard as anyone on that defense. I would add the most overrated......Urlacher.1 point

Anyone who knows a little bit about Coach Rodenberg's history would know this is a great move for him for all the reasons you just listed. Indian Hills is a great school to coach at, I think it will be a great fit for him and the school.1 point

I think he was referring to trading out Washington for another of the PAC juggernauts like Pike Central, Tell City, Forest Park, or Tecumseh to form the new Big 8. Personally, I think Jasper leaves the SIAC right after Michigan leaves the Big Ten to join the MAC.1 point

Hartley and Whitmer defeated Luers by a wider margin than Snider did in three of those four games. Coldwater is a small school, but I bet they would give Snider, Homestead, and Carroll a run for their money much the same that Luers does. Chatard is on a level playing field with those teams most years and even better on occasion. I'm not sure losing to Snider by 30 points (average margin of victory last 6 meetings) prepares Luers any more than a more competitive game against 4a program like Leo or East Noble. Maybe it does, but I doubt it. I completely understand your point of view and even sympathize with it. But at the end of the day, Luers will be just fine and will benefit from seeing different opponents during the regular season. I don't think seeing the same 9 teams year in and year out does any program any good.1 point

To piggy-back, what is Roncalli's endzone camera situation? What rig do they use, how old is it, do they have more than one, etc??1 point
