Saw another SIAC commit today. Jay Smith of Reitz will continue his football career at Rose-Hulman. The engine that kept the Panthers going the past few seasons seems to be a perfect fit for the Fightin’ Engineers!2 points

That’s like comparing the best player on the campus flag football champ to the Heisman Trophy winner.2 points

I quit paying attention to him after his second retirement. Anyone advocating the contraction of HS Football programs clearly does not understand the point of a HS Football forum. I assure everyone, Roncalli will be fine. Coach Rosenberg will be fine, and the sun will most assuredly come up tomorrow.2 points

He provides more content (agree with it or not) than every other user on this board combined. You pretend he doesn’t matter and you pay him no attention but you take a shot at him below the belt at every opportunity.2 points

Its' a DAMNED shame that in a league 70% (+/-) African-American. in 2022 there is only ONE Head Coach that reflects any ability for those who would even choose to think about their future within the NFL beyond that of an "assistant" continue to use the guise of the Rooney Rule to circumvent and continue the old-boys network as a way to further their idiotic hiring practices.... Eric Bieniemy should have been hired 3 years ago as a HC in the NFL! The Jaguars "may" hire Byron Leftwich as their HC....again "MAY". That's IT! The NFL has done a better job with their officials (selection/promotion) in giving/providing a diverse representation to the those of us on that end of the spectrum; Than anything the ''OWNERS" have ever done in trying to find and promote those within a minority community to lead their franchises. SAME OLE, SAME OLE.... Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Recycled, and not updated! But with the same 'suit". 🤬1 point

I'm currently reading 'Race and football in America" by Dawn Knight. It highlights George Taliaferro and by the title alone am hoping by reading it I can continue to do my part to make this world a better place. I know Dick Dullaghan wrote a book, "Reflections of Indiana football". I've read "Chasing perfection" and 'The right kind of Heros". I was wondering what other books are out there written about HS football.1 point

I think we are on the same page. Although sports offer kids many life lessons, it's not the end all be all.1 point

I get that, but from the lens looking the other way; people could look at the record of teams I was a part of and say I had very little success. But for me, I look at many of the young men I have coached and see the things they are doing; working hard, being great husbands and becoming great fathers and leaders, and see some getting into coaching and teaching as well, and I know.....as John Mellencamp says "an honest man's pillow is his peace of mind". I would say the coaches I have been blessed to work with, regardless of win loss records, we have been successful.1 point

Mishawaka has had their share of sectionals as well as a few regionals the last 10 years or so and I think they have been very successful. Sure could be a lot worse.1 point

Chesterton, maybe. But Ben Davis? Why on earth would Concordia even consider playing the Giants? That is definitely a mismatch if I ever saw one outside of the state championship Cadet team.1 point

Honest question. Where does Michigan turn this late in the game? Similar situation happened to Michigan State about this time two years ago and while they took some lumps year 1 they came out alright. They wouldn't promote Gattis or Michigan Man Mike Hart would they?1 point

Cant imagine this goes well for Jennings... in talking with a coach who had an assistant that interviewed for that job, he said that the call came before Christmas that he didnt get the job after interviewing. With that much time lapsed, and the time it will take for a new approval, cant imagine any of the "no's" are interested this time around.1 point

Driven T/DT/HHF knows how to stir the pot. AND...I agree. Kevin O'Shea would be a good fit at Roncalli if he decides to pursue it.1 point

You are both guilty also...you just can't keep scrolling. HHF/DT is that girl you pretend you don't like but you just can't quit her.1 point

This is very encouraging to hear as an alum who no longer is in the area. Even after a step back last year, I truly believe Coach Morris has the Hatchets on the right path from the varsity program all the way down to youth league ball.1 point

I think there’s a difference between a successful program and an elite program. For instance, Columbus East is a successful program but Cathedral is an elite program.1 point

That wasn't the implication. Washington wouldn't want to jump from the frying pan to the fire. this was just make believe anyway. By the way, Washington's current middle school squad is good.1 point

And I wish her the best of luck. I doubt if an Indiana school was ever a consideration. I’ve had the pleasure of watching her play since she was a 6th grader. Phenomenal player1 point

Never understand why people always want to see these out of state games. Play teams affiliated with the IHSAA. I get that these games happen at times for various reasons, but I would much rather see Ben Davis play teams in Indiana rather than out of state. I do not care about how good teams from chicago or cincinnati are.0 points
