Many of my coaching colleagues know that in addition to my football coaching duties that I own and operate Cozy Acres Golf Complex in Madison, Indiana. For some time know we have had Paul Loggan Foundation Logo Golf Balls for purchase. We are attempting to raise funds for Paul's foundation at North Central High School. Thank You For Your Support. Paul Loggan was the Athletic Director at North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a father figure to many student-athletes and a friend to all that knew him. Paul was a LB coach, a true 4-3 guy. Hence his two sons Michael and William along with his daughter Samantha made up the Loggan Family Linebacker Corp. Sadly Paul was taken from us way too soon. This past April, we lost Coach Loggan to COVID-19. He was such a special person. Paul would always take time to talk, to see how you were doing, and would offer guidance and direction if needed. If you were Paul's friend, you had a friend for life. I met Paul some years back through the Indiana Football Coaches Association and the North/South All Star Game in which Paul was the Director. He both directly and indirectly made an impact upon my life. In turn, I would like to return that favor. The Family has created the Paul Loggan Foundation to assist students of North Central in times of need. Now I know it may not be your community I am directly speaking of, but I feel that there are a lot of those who support what Paul Loggan stood for. I felt compelled to do my part. I think the biggest takeaway so far is the IU defense. They've been up to the task every week. I remember years ago, when every team would just score at will on the Hoosiers. IU would have to score 40+ to win. Tom Allen has changed that since he's been on campus. This could be the best defense IU has had in a long time. They're creating turnovers and limiting big plays. The offense still has some improving to do. Especially that offensive line. No push on a lot of those run plays. Early in the game, Penix was under a lot of pressure. They got it going a little later.

Why would you give up that advantage if you don't need to? Perhaps you should have a 'Coke and a smile' and bring it down a few notches....

Loved how Urban Meyer said IU is the second best team in the Big Ten East, especially after the Buckeyes took down Penn State. I really like IU's chances against Michigan this year. The IU defense dominated yesterday in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Rutgers had only 60 yards of total offense at halftime. In the second quarter IU only gave up minus 6 yards. That's quite impressive. IU still has a tough schedule but they are playing well enough to be in every game. Allen had to be proud of his team yesterday. It seems like he is the coach that IU has needed for years.

Congrats to the Knights on Sectional 42 championship ! Can't help but wonder how much this season has affected LCCs progress !

Shows how good a football conference the Mid State has been the past few years. And how bad a football conference Tech plays in. When they somehow won 3 games this year.

Watched the Pioneer-LaVille game on the internet. Pioneer has speed that LaVille could not duplicate in practice. The Pioneer offensive line was very intentional and confident in what they ran. Pionee's offensive line opened holes that were just big enough for the speed of the backs to get through and they were in the secondary in the blink of an eye. That speed doesn't neet gapping holes to get through. LaVille just did not have any answers for the handful of looks that Pioneer gave them. Kudos to the LaVille Football team that could have packed it in back when they were sidelined early in the season. They came together, thanks in part due to a senior class that was hungry to lead and hungry for success. Coach Hostrawser and his coaching staff did a fine job of utilizing the talent they had this season. That roster might not have been a big one, but Coach Hostrawser made the best with what he had. They made adjustments from a year ago on offense and that defensive mindset that Coach Hostrawser brings continues to get the job done. Kudos also to a freshman QB that was thrown into the fire following an injury to their senior QB. He came in and did an admirable job given the circumstances. It was nice to see the Doyle kid return to add depth and chip in on offense, defense and wherever he could. That was a very young offensive line to go with a young quarterback, and a couple young runners in the backfield for Coach H to build around for the years go come. The defense was equally young, as at least half of those boys were underclassmen as well from what I could see. On this night, Pioneer the better team with more execution and weapons than the Lancers. Not the result the Lancers wanted, but this Pioneer team is a solid team. IMO, Bremen will have its hands ful next week for a sectional championship. Be interesting to see if the Lions can use the film scout to find something different, a wrinkle, a gimic to use to slow the Pioneer offense. Pioneer sets the play, acts like they don't care if you know what it is and challenges you to stop what they do. And do well, I might add. NJSP, Pioneer, and Winamac left standing in the HNAC. All the best to that trio as they move forward in state tournament. Early precincts say NJSP and Pioneer playing for a regional. as always the game is better from_the_sidelines007

Terre Haute South’s QB was awesome last night. Never panicked. Hung in the pocket. Picked apart a stout Irish secondary. They had zero run game or defense, but the Q kept them in this one, especially in the first half.

I think it was a pretty impressive stat that was snapped tonight. Tough night for Penn (used to have quite the following around here) and big night for Chesterton... As @johnny U called for the upset, Trojans losses on the year were by very good teams, folks dismissed Trojans bc they lost to Pioneer, no shame in that, but I stick up for small schools.

I like the idea of moving the game along with the running clock, but it so doesn't allow the bench players much time on the field. I enjoy hearing the cheers from player's families whose young men don't get much playing time. I don't like the idea of running up the score!

By my count there were over 100 Indiana Hs football games that took place last night not counting the the 4 that will occur sat night. That’s over 200 teams participating. Thousands of families in the stands. Passionate families from what I saw last night. Thousands of memories. Some good... Some tears. That’s what it’s all about.
