  1. Forest Park returns 7 starters on both sides of the ball. There is definitely some optimism of continuing to build on the last couple of years. I do feel that if the Rangers could get down to 1A (right on the cut line as the numbers look now), they could definitely compete for that 1A sectional title!

  2. The GREATEST rivalry. In the GREATEST country on Earth, with the GREATEST heroes and leadership. God bless ALL these men and women. We are in such amazing hands! Take a moment and realize what matters. From the Ellenwood Family- THANK YOU!

  3. I don’t think this is what Woody was after, I swear to God I don’t. But since you opened the door I’ll say this right to your face. If you’re a Hall of Fame coach you shouldn’t suck on defense no matter who the DC is. STATE LAW!

  4. I don't know that I submitted any ID but they should know who I am since I'm a multi-year Booster and they should be able to tell from my payment info. As for the down votes, that's the pot calling the kettle black. You throw a mini tantrum (like you are here) anytime someone doesn't go out of their way to praise your team or agree with you. Aside from that, the votes mean almost nothing. I don't think they even accumulate in a reputation score like they used to. You could also rectify that problem by agreeing with me more often.

  5. Aren't you the guy who used to downvote folks in the CIC pick'em if they didn't pick Eastbroook?

  6. No problem man it's all entertainment. We all have our opinions and then we see how they hold up and adjust them over time. I think my 2A prediction before the playoffs started, had I been so bold to offer one up here, would've been Pioneer and Triton Central. I honestly hadn't seen much of Luers over the past few years until they beat Eastside. They look like a 2A favorite next season though. That passing attack will be tough to stop.

  9. I’m not in any hall of fame, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express one time. Had to fire the guy running the defense last year. He got his @ss kicked lol

  10. It can be hard to hire coach/teachers at a school with an enrollment of 240 period. We have a great situation at North Vermillion though in that regard. Very supportive administration. Having coaches in the building has been a big part of sustaining our success.

  11. At Center Grove our youngest contact league is for 2nd graders but 1st graders are accepted if the parents prefer. Much of the fears posted above are unwarranted IF the league is properly run. The coaches, league officials, and referees need to be properly instructed and supervised and the equipment needs to be high quality. If you have those things in place you should have minimal problems. You will not have zero injuries. They happen. Yes, we should be worried about AAU type football teams and tournaments. I see rogue teams being formed and seeking players and my biggest concern is who the coaches are and what do they know. National championships for 8 year-olds is ridiculous. There is a team forming. now that is talking about playing January tournaments. That's a horrible idea. Play football during football season. I recently saw that our Jr. Trojans were ranked in the top 20 nationally for 11U. Seriously? Who does this kind of stuff? Do they honestly think their rankings are credible? Usually there are adults trying to profit from over-zealous parents but they've never approached us for anything.

  13. I was just kidding with you my man. By the way I didn't predict my Luers making it out of the sectionals lol.

  14. This is what worries me about starting too young. I am sure I will get some flak for this, and I am not making a blanket statement about youth coaches, but are there enough good coaches teaching proper fundamentals and safety techniques? It is hard enough to fill high school staffs with people who are willing to put in the time to learn and then teach all of this correctly while still making it enjoyable for the KIDS. I love getting kids involved in the sport, especially properly. I worry that having 8 year olds having to travel from South Bend to Orlando to play for a championship gets away from the fundamentals/teaching process and exerts an emphasis on winning way too early. Maybe I am wrong, but I would think youth football programs at that age are our sport's equivalent to t-ball and I don't think we have t-ball tourneys/national championships...at least I hope not!

  16. Agreed. HOF coaches cover all the bases, I gotta go... I think the DC is a tough position at all levels.

  19. Is D Coordinator the hardest position coach to hire? At least in small school football?

  20. I expect the Vikings to be improved, returning a skilled senior class with many becoming 3 year starters next year. QB Bender showed signs of playing at a high level and has two all conference receivers returning. Our big problem has been line play, and I have high hopes of improvement. Our JV should be solid after a one loss season this year with a nearly all freshmen team. Most of those freshmen should be able to stay on JV and add to them an undefeated 8th grade team (Our first since the 90s)

  21. If you agree that part of good parenting is teaching your kids good decision-making skills, then you need to involve them in decision-making long before then. They don’t just wake up on the morning of their 18th birthday, having been dusted overnight by the “good decision-making fairy.”

  22. Bud Wright Stadium - home of the Sheridan Blackhawks. Still active, but I think 9 state titles and 2 runners-up allow you that honor.

  26. Really limited on when MIC schools can be schedules with any team. Mic teams are usually only available to schedule non-conference weeks 1, 2, and 9. The Cincinnati schools Cathedral plays happen 4, 6, and 7 which is when most teams are playing their conference schedule.

  28. T-Ball. I was approached by another parent when my youngest son was 4, asking if I wanted to join their travel T-Ball team for a weekend tournament in Indy. (In hindsight, it was probably the big place in Wesfield.) I laughed before I realized he was serious. Driving from Evansville to Westfield for a 4/5 year old T-ball tournament wasn't my idea of a good time.
