I'm assuming no less than "17 D1 players" since they are (reportedly) even better than last year. I wonder if they will also receive " 5 offers from army and navy" that "decided to go to marion (sic)" just like last year. With that, you can anticipate that if they lose to another team there will be "5" or "7" or "11" starters who didn't play (for a variety of reasons that only seem to exclude a mass kidnapping from ancient aliens)....regardless, the number of missing starters in any loss seems to be variable. But aside from that, they are the best team in the State of Indiana. I think I've covered it generally.3 points

Merrillville is pretty good, just like the were last season at this time. Then, they jumped on I-65 and played Chatard…2 points

Why hasnt the clock stopped in the 4th quarter of this Adams Central/ Parke Heritage game??2 points

Penix is off....bad reads, throwing into coverages while guys are open; not moving well in the pocket to buy time. The defense has played well considering the offense has put them in horrible spots all day.2 points

Just stop is Lysander...stop it! Why are you trying to deal with a "reality" situation? STOP IT.... 😂1 point

Notre Dame wins! 41 yard field goal. 41-38 final Lots of things to work on next week.1 point

Just throwing out there that Castle doesn’t have the ability to schedule non-conference games because the SIAC expanded to ten teams and they all play each other.1 point

I don’t like the word “soft,” since to me it implies less than 100% effort, and I wouldn’t accuse someone of that just because of the style of their offense. But there is no doubt that the game has changed dramatically. It’s now much more of a scheme, matchup, one on one game than ever before. Now, it’s all about getting the ball to players in space, so they can make a big play. Reminds me a lot of MLB these days, where record numbers of homers are being hit … along with record numbers of strikeouts. Both football and baseball now live by the big play. I halfway think that the reason is our video game, internet, text message, social media culture simply lacks the patience, and the attention span, to be effective at doing it the old way.1 point

I would imagine Merrillville has the athletes. The 3 teams they have beaten are all 1-2. Valpo and City should be their tests1 point

The lesser of two evils. These are very basic procedures any varsity level back judge should know.1 point

That parcel was always problematic. RV Welch built that office building fronting Emerson (might have actually been his first office project) and the lower level and elevators in that building were always underwater. Add that most all of that parking lot was notorious for flooding back in the day.1 point

I think AMS still plays there, judging by the photos and their website1 point

That’s some good news for VL then, I only saw the final score and the game box, so my knowledge of the game, other than stats, is little1 point

The final score wasn't much of an indicator, but Lincoln left the Reitz Bowl with a much better feeling than they did a week ago. This was only a 7-0 game until the waning seconds of the 1st half when MD made it 14-0 at the break. If they are going muster a win or two in the conference, it's gonna have to be on the back of the defense. So many young guys and first time players offensively.1 point

Reminds me of Jerome Bettis. Did you ever hear him mic'd up? Hilarious. I saw it many years ago on NFL Films. Wish I could find the video now. He was constantly talking and whooping when he carried the ball.1 point

Mertz was atrocious. And that’s putting it nicely. Feel like Wisconsin wins by at least 10 if he was on. These Week 1 matchups like Wisconsin/Penn State are tough. I would imagine both teams would have played exceptionally better had they played a mid major this week and then met in Madison next weekend. The QB’s in the Clemson/Georgia game looked pretty bad as well. As always Bama makes playing a P5 in week 1 look easy.1 point

Wasn’t the only thing backwards yesterday. I think the number next to Indiana’s name on the scoreboard would have been more accurate had it said “71” instead of “17.”1 point

The home side stands runs from 10 yard line - 10 yard line and maybe 40 rows high, I would guess 5,000 packed in home side and 1,500 visitors side plus all the fans along both sides of fences makes it a bigger place than some might realize. I would except it pretty full on Friday.1 point

There were quite a few mid-term graduates at Hamilton Heights. And that was the 1973-74 school year. I started out taking 4 classes(3 of those were electives) but dropped 3 at the beginning of the semester. Gave me more time to sleep before heading to school for my 1 hour a day(10-11am). I usually stayed about an hour after class was over to talk to underclassmen girls I had a crush on. Guess my memory is a lot better than @Grover's1 point

What? I want kids to enjoy their senior year of high school. Those memories will outlast their playing career. I also want to make sure they are mature enough to handle what awaits them on a big college campus. Selfish? Hardly.1 point

They’ll get better coaching, nutrition, training, and education going to college early. Plus NIL money so why not go early if you can? we have selfish fans who care more about the high school teams then individuals so understandable why they might not like this trend1 point

Not sure about that. Chatard has definitely struggled to start the season, much like the teams in the HHC. They are clearly getting better, as will the teams in the conference as the season progresses. I will be honest the amount of coach bashing since last night is a little disappointing to me, particularly from the CE fans, who seem to be a little more educated than some of the others. Coach Vogel has been an integral part of the coaching staff during CE’s run. During the last few years probably a much more integral part as a coordinator than the HC, and that’s not a slight on anybody, it’s just how established programs operate. You people doing all the bitching about coaching are exactly one of the reasons schools in this conference struggle with football. Instead of bitching about how bad your coaching staff is doing, what are you doing to support your program? @Fkfootball throwing money at the problem isn’t always the answer, if it were we’d have no drug or poverty problems in this country. I was at East Central last night, and EC has had some mediocre seasons over the years, but the stands are always full, it’s a rocking environment, and last night they spent about 25 minutes introducing their youth players. The youth players were in their game jerseys, out on the field with the team for warmups, etc. EC got pretty much physically whipped in the game, I haven’t seen the first post bitching about their coaching staff. EC routinely plays GCL teams and gets physically whipped, and you don’t see their fans posting anonymously bitching about it. Wins and losses are not the messing stick when it comes to measuring the success of a high school program. What kind of young people are they producing? That’s the measuring stick.1 point

I LOVE the movie, and thought MLB did a phenomenal job with this. The setting was perfect. I think it was on par with hockey doing their outdoor games. It's unique...fans love it and the players look forward to it as well.1 point

We had plenty of midterm grads. I needed so few credits my senior year that I was done before lunch. After flirting and usually failing with the pretty girls I would go to Pizza King with the current CG safety's dad. I'd get a Tex BBQ and dominate Galaga and Donkey Kong. You know...stuff a 17 year old should be doing. But I have no idea how many grad requirements I had filled leading into my senior year.0 points
