Nobody in SW Indiana has had more football move-ins than Gibson Southern and Reitz over the last several seasons. Those are facts. I guess it’s not called recruiting since the school is free?

Well the season has come to an end. Congratulations to our 6 State Champions and to our 6 State Runner-Ups. Well deserved. It was a great season being here again this year on the GID. I love this community, I do not always agree with everything that everyone posts, but as long as its not derogative towards anyone, I listen and read. Just a reminder as the season has come to and end. The banner up top is the Coaching Changes that are happening. Please be reminded that the rumor mill is to be kept on the DL, and only Posted Openings and Posted Hirings are to be placed on there. You’re right, you beat who was on the schedule. Where are the 6A teams on that schedule? EC knew this was going to be a great year, schedule up and challenge yourself

Homestead was snoring that game. They came back a week later and outplayed Indy's best team for two quarters without their best player. I didn't want to hijack the 6A title game, hence me saying "forget it" instead of: Snider was also a 45 yard field goal from bowing out to Mishawaka. Everyone in the state of Indiana not in attendance at that game deemed Snider "average." At the end of the day, I don't know why Ben Davis almost lost Warren Central anymore than you know why Snider lost to Homestead or almost lost to Mishawaka. Who really cares. None of it changes the fact that both Ben Davis and Snider are state champions.

You must have cringed every-time the announcers talked about how gracious the Colts are for allowing the IHSAA to use LOS.

Lol IU has never had a short term fix to have that problem. Give me a guy that wins 7-8 games a year for 3-4 years and gets hired away than a guy who wins 2-3 games over 3-4 years and lets the new guy start from scratch. IU football history the last century in a nutshell.

Three p/p schools, whose total constituency make up probably around 10% of the football playing schools in the IHSAA, have just taken home 50% of the available state championship trophies. The p/p hegemony continues unabated, with the "success factor" doing little more than rearranging the deck chairs. This will continue as long as the IHSAA stubbornly sticks to a primarily enrollment based classification system, and not a system that truly measures the historical success, or lack thereof, of Indiana high school football programs.

Things were going well for LCC football in the 1960's. How bad was it for LCC in the early 1980's? In 1981 Keith Lehnen was the coach and there was about 300 students at LCC. There was only about 30 players on the 1981 team and LCC had just joined the Hoosier Conference again in 1980. They had to play WL, Harrison, and McCutcheon. Coach Lehnen had concerns about whether football might die out at LCC. The Freshman team only had 13 players in 1981. Here are the names of some of the Football players on the 1981 team. A football program can go from good to bad in just a few years.

That 1983 team is important despite going 0-10. It was the impetus for the development of the youth program.

Lol challenge themselves? They're under contract with Moeller(d1 ohio) Harrison(d2 ohio) and Roncalli.. Moeller lost in semi state, Harrison lost in regional and Roncalli was down this year. Their conference schedule is what it is and that won't change.

Moeller: top 5 division 1 Ohio 2 Top 10 3a teams: Lawrenceburg/Batesville Harrison OH: 9-4 record. Outscored opponents 740 to 98 If running clock rule was allowed in state finals they would have put a running clock on every indiana team they played. What would they do against a 6a schedule? Anyone's guess. All I know is they dominated every team on their schedule.

We don’t have to “ forget it.” It’s great conversation. Unlikely any BD players are reading this forum…you don’t need to shy away from branching off onto other topics. We can respect what BD just did and still have our opinions. Look, the HCC is the best conference in Indiana , top to bottom. Folks are going to continue to pile on unfairly until they win a title which I guess is fine. It’s an easy target. However, you have to be “on” each Friday night or you are going to get snatched. Hell, Snider found out that one bad night on the wrong night against middle of the road SAC squads can get you beat. The difference is there is no Concordia, Wayne, Northrop, our South Side on the schedule for HCC teams which is why I was adamant Snider would be a middle of the pack HCC team were they to play an HCC schedule. Once again, that is not diminishing the accomplishments of Snider. It’s just my opinion. They have a significant enrollment disadvantage against the teams you mentioned and the wear and tear of that schedule every 7 days would take its toll. I always end these debates with you with the same Homestead/Noblesville story from a few years back…

They won't claim Anderson though, even though it's an Indy burb. Hopefully I get some laughs on that one.

Everyone in the country knows Fitz’s capabilities. He was at NU 17 years. They don’t need to see him win 7 games at IU to hire him away. If a big school wanted Fitz, he wouldn’t be available to begin with.

My #2 didn’t crap the bed against a mediocre Homestead squad. They showed out every Friday night this fall.

Sagarin had North Posey an 8.5 favorite over Luers only 45.5 points off.

Well, now here we are. This has went off the rails. This game carries the stench of Rome!!!! Anyway, here is the deal, we knew what we were running into. The kid that had the 3 ints said it best, "We are used to this". 34ish seniors, 1 two way player, etc, etc..... Here is the fact publics--deal with it. We at HH have dealt with it on and off for over 25 years in the playoffs, what is the answer? The answer is until the brain trust at the IHSAA changes the rules (which they won't) we have to get bigger, faster and stronger. Period. I'm with @hhpatriot04--go do some Oklahoma drills. Just learned during the game yesterday that Dickert is from the same small town my grandparents moved to when they moved back to Wisconsin from Lemont, IL. We spent a lot of Summers as kids in Oconto, WI. I like Dickert too. Lord knows what happens with them next season as far as a conference goes. Two other names come to my mind….Mike Hart is one. He has been in the program at IU as a coach, so he has some idea of what needs to happen. Brian Hartline is the other. Both know what it takes to run a top 5 program. I would add there is one to avoid….Tommy Rees. Just never thought a lot of him as an OC, a job he would likely maintain if he were a head coach somewhere. And I am sure he is going to be actively looking. IU also needs to fire the asshat who included the huge buyout as part of the contract extension Allen got after the 2020 season.

Tom Allen has been fired this morning according to ESPN.com. Hie will be paid his full buyout, which is approximately 20.8 million dollars, which is one of the largest in college football history. I never want to see anyone lose a job in today’s world, but 20.8 million is plenty to live on. Incompetence ruled Allen’s last couple years.

With something like 50% of those wins without Harbaugh on the sideline. The guy is probably going pro, does Michigan really need him?

The most exciting round of the entire tourney was the Regional. This weekend was terrible. I couldn't watch one complete game. So boring. Semi-States weren't much better, there were two decent games there.

I was impressed with Luers. It was the first time I was able to see them in person all year. I left them for dead after weeks 1 & 2, but they are clearly a different team now. I think Kyle Lindsay should be looked at for Coach of the Year. For the record, I think Luers vs Lutheran or Luers vs Adams Central would be good competitive games. Congrats to Luers. No matter what they say about the level of play in 2A, the bottom line is this: You'll be remembered forever as the 2A champ. And 95% of high school football fans don't even know what the GID is. So most are oblivious of the "this class is weak," or "this class is watered down" talk. Fans are enjoying these championships for what they are. Gotta love high school football.

This is what I was saying at the time. The defense was doing decent early and to try an onside kick against a fundamentally sound team like EC is just not the play. They were not caught off guard at all. I’m guessing if you asked Coach Andrews he’d say they were playing to win and felt like they had to be ahead at half. That said it should’ve absolutely been 14-7 at worst at half. Over time then EC wore out Northwood and are to be commended for . Congratulations to both teams, you represented the public schools well.

I think it means they could definitely beat heritage hills. Direct comparisons aren’t always a guarantee to be accurate, I agree with that. I do however think that AC would beat luers. We don’t have to agree. Glad for Luers, though. Fortunately snider and Luers were able to represent the 260 well, as did the Jets, just in a losing effort.

I dont think Lutheran or ac are anywhere close to a lock to beat luers. Though I'll concede this is an off year for 2a as a whole

The disrespect to some of the teams in 2A, especially in the North, is quite laughable. Good news for Lutheran and AC, they can prove thed be able to walk through 2A the next two years.

My "evolving" thoughts on classification: 1a = smallest 32 2a - 5a = classes of 64 6a = top 32 No P/P allowed in 1A SF is rolling 4 year cycle.

I would like to see them make 1A 32 teams and 5A 64 teams. Bye week could really help rosters of less than 40 players. Be fun to shake things up a bit.

If the Papists can win 3A in Chatard’s absence, and Chatard takes 4A, we’re one step closer to the p/p sweep. I fully support this.
