Ev. Reitz Memorial (currently 3A #1) is looking for a Wk. 8 game series beginning next year. I believe that is KY Wk. #7. I have passed your post along to our AD.2 points

Well I accidentally hit accept on EL, looks like I’m headed to Madison Saturday morning as well. I told the bus driver not to wait on me. I’m sure there’ll be a trip to the Red Pepperoni after and I’ll probably enjoy a cigar on the way home.1 point

I began V in 85 and we were working 5-man. There were still a lot of schools only paying four. There were a lot of nights I wasn’t getting paid.1 point

The short answer is yes, but you have to understand to be one of Coach Ralph’s “Dragons” means something to these kids. It means something at school and in this town. They would play both ways and work concessions at halftime if he asked. The guy gives everything he has for his players and they enthusiastically reciprocate.1 point

Easily. If you can come back from a week 3 loss to NIU and comfortably make the playoff, you can easily bounce back from two early season close losses against solid opponents. Freeman will have to do his best coaching ever however.1 point

I agree with everything you’ve said. Not only that, but adding two officials at the Regional level and beyond would give 48 more officials the opportunity to work deeper into the playoffs. Frustration with the tournament advancement process is a significant contributor to the decline in the number of football officials. It could be a part of a retention strategy. The IHSAA has always taken the position that adding officials to work unfamiliar positions with unfamiliar crew mates, and the changes in crew mechanics that would be necessary outweighs any advantage in better coverage.1 point

I will YELL to the hills that IN needs to go to a 7-man crew past the 2nd round of the tournament. I'm absolutely amazed that in some sports it's "published policy" to ADD officials once the playoffs begin, but with FB.... Well, it's 5-man for the ENTIRE tournament. How's about having a Side Judge and Field Judge? Of course this doesn't solve the issue that is being said via the U by @btownqbcoach1. But it is better coverage (IMO) than what we have now as the tournament gets further and further toward the Championships.1 point

Not really worth debating. I just know that I saw a fun game for 3 quarters until CG pulled away. It's really more about how Carroll performed their first couple of weeks. I was impressed with how hard Carroll hit compared to Center Grove. I was expecting it to be the other way around with all of their D1 guys. They played HSE within a touchdown without their top offensive weapon. Either way, doesn't really matter how we as fans want to interpret it. I personally think Carroll will be a tough out in the northern bracket, but that's just me.1 point

Let Stink Remind you.......Tigers have won six out of the last nine you see also have played for two Rings during that time, while Casket Town was practicing basketball most of those times. So your bark is loud, but your bite is not vicious....Can't wait until next week, for your visit! Keep the car on the tracks if you can.....Stink thought they only drove on Golf Courses in Pirate Land.1 point

YORKTOWN TIGERS AND ITS AWESOME well at least Coach Wilhelm taught the 2015 North All Stars that at one point that week said they did it at Yorktown !!!1 point

All of the teams you mentioned have 1 or more losses on the season. Did the teams they lose to also do the Haka, and if so they must have done a better job for them to lose to them? It would be interesting to see two teams performing the haka on the field at the same time. Some might call it a haka-two-a battle.1 point

LOL. You're kind of right. Isn't real convenient from anywhere except Sullivan and Washington. It will save the remaining SIAC schools some travel costs (especially for the non-revenue sports). Maybe not Jasper so much, but they have plenty of moolah in Dubois Co. anyway.1 point

I think Fountain Central beats Riverton Parke if Herb would have had them do the Haka in pre-game. You might put a bug in his ear for the Sectional.1 point

Beginning next season, the SIAC will be a 9 member conference which will enable all schools to schedule 1 non-conference game.1 point

As a Hoosier who follows football in all parts of the state, I'd say that your best bet to scheduling a game against a school in Indiana would be Gibson Southern High School. Gibson Southern routinely schedules teams from out of state, including in Western Kentucky, and teams in the Indianapolis metro as well. Gibson Southern is 3A in Indiana, but they are in the top tier of 3A football. You probably won't get much luck out of teams in the SIAC (Evansville metro) as they tend to play conference-only schedules. Good luck to your new, consolidated program!1 point

New Pal's biggest game was against Decatur Central. Cathedral has played Ben Davis, Brownsburg, Cincinnati St. X and Bishop Chatard to date, with Center Grove and Warren Central yet to come. Don't base your opinions on W's and L's!1 point

I would under no circumstances ever advocate for a punt. I'll run between the tackles on 4th and 99 before I punt.1 point

Not quite the best numbers in program history, but it’s awesome to see him doing well. Proud of him as a former player of mine, great to see the program having some success. Nick and his wife are both Crawford grads, just had a baby. He won’t be going anywhere as long as the program continues.1 point

there is absolutely 100% nothing anyone will say to me that will convince me that Northwest Indiana has a harder trip to semi state than literally any other area. we could put a team together of GID members and make it to semistate in any class if we got to start out of the northwest1 point

And just like that the “It’s unfair that Private schools recruit and public schools wholesomely play by the rules. ” narrative died a quiet death. RIP sweet child. 1907-2025. It was a good life. You will be missed by many, I am sure.1 point
