  3. ok...that's fair....much of the AI stuff I ran listed him as an "up and comer"....this Star article seems to align with your thoughts more as well as this 257 article. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2021/03/26/indiana-basketball-looking-back-when-bob-knight-hired-iu-hoosiers-history/6996601002/ https://247sports.com/college/indiana/article/knight-time-in-an-unruly-era-indiana-basketball-looked-for-a-disciplinarian-and-found-a-legend-in-bob-knight-219346470/ It would be fair that Knight took IU to another level....a true blue blood program during his regime.

  6. Go Monrovia, their sectional is about the only one I pay attention to from the south in 2A. One public school surrounded by a bunch of private schools in the sectional. Go get'em Bulldogs!!!

  7. I love and support Fort Wayne area football, but dude, this is too much. Northrop being mentioned with the blue bloods is blasphemy. We are talking like 56-7 whipping bad. Northrop better hope that Carroll takes care of them in Sectionals as if they line up against Carmel, it might be another 40 years before they rear their head again…

  8. Kinda weird not seeing West Lafayettes in the 3A discussion

  9. One week to go in the regular season but with the draw being last night, figured it'd be as good a time as any to generate some discussion around the 1A tournament. The north portion looks pretty wide open on paper as a handful of squads who are heavy sectional favorite could provide for a must see regional round. This seems to be a very balanced side of the bracket. In the south, it appears that the two best teams are in the same sectional in South Putnam and Riverton Parke. They would meet up in the sectional title game, should chalk hold. South Putnam's lone losses are to 3A Edgewood and 4A Northview, whereas Riverton Parke has yet to be challenged. Springs Valley and North Decatur appear to be the best from the other half of the south bracket. The Blackhawks have been rolling people, though their schedule strength barely cracks the top 300, whereas North Decatur's lone blemish is to 2A powerhouse Linton. Temp's Title Odds: South Putnam: 30% South Adams: 25% Pioneer: 10% North Judson: 10% North Decatur: 10% Carroll (Flora): 5% Riverton Parke: 5% The Field: 5% Whatcha say?

  16. It’s Hate Week. ☘️Beyond the Echoes: The Greatest Intersectional Rivalry In College Football The Notre Dame-USC football rivalry began in 1926 and is considered one of the fiercest in college football. The rivalry game has been played every year from 1926 to the present with the exception of 1943 to 1945 when the game was cancelled during World War II and in 2020 when the Pac-12 Conference cancelled all non-conference games in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic therefore interrupted a streak of 73 consecutive years in which the game had been played. The 2021 matchup marked the first time in series history that two consecutive games between the rivals were played in Indiana, although the games were not played in consecutive years. The teams play for the Jeweled Shillelagh, a trophy that goes to the winning team each year. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 50–37–5 and also leads 35–30–3 since the introduction of the trophy. Despite many close games, the series has had dominant runs by both sides: USC went 12–2–2 from 1967 through 1982, Notre Dame went 11–0–1 from 1983 through 1995, and USC went 8–0 from 2002 through 2009. However, while Notre Dame and USC have played in landmark games enabling one of them to move on to a national title, the two teams have also played spoiler to each other several times. A No. 1 undefeated Notre Dame beat No. 2 undefeated USC in the Coliseum en route to the national title in 1988. The Irish also spoiled Trojan title campaigns by giving them their first loss in the last game of the season in 1947 and 1952, as well as handing them a first loss in 1927, 1973 and 1995. The Irish also tied No. 1 ranked USC in 1968 21–21, knocking them down to No. 2 behind Ohio State, who then beat USC in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in the Rose Bowl. The Irish tied the Trojans again in 1969 14–14, the only blemish in USC's 10–0–1 season.

  18. Gonna have to screenshot that one coming from a GS guy 😂😉 Side note but I was able to watch some of your game against Heritage Hills. Props to Gibson Southern for being able to finish that one out with the win. That was one heck of a game by two very talented teams.

  20. "Good team, but not ready for the best 6A has to offer." And I replied with the fact that I don't think they'd be ready for the best 5A/4A has to offer either.

  21. The first time you play that offense, it's like your head is in a blender. it doesn't matter how well coached or disciplined you are - good luck.

  22. Carmel vs whoever should be fun in the finals. Kevin Wright showing there's levels to this, and he's at a different level than most coaches statewide.

  25. And he is playing on a torn ACL. He is 6’2 215 and the backup is 5’11 155. The arm talent is decidedly different. If the starter had played against Cathedral the Trojans likely win that game by 2 scores and this entire conversation is unnecessary.

  29. 4-2 with some softer part of schedule coming up next 4 games: Saints at HOME Ravens ROAD Bengels ROAD Giants HOME Never easy to win on the road, but like our chances at 3-1 in that stretch, 2-2 is palpable, 1-3 in that stretch and throws out the 2 road wins you earned last 2 games Bears will need to make a decision, zero sum game with NFL Kickers, who do they believe more in the rest of the year, MOODY or SANTOS, because they cannot carry 3 total kickers on a 53 weekly, insane to do, so someone is going to get cut, IMO, the SECOND you put Moody back on practice squad he is going to get signed, Santos perhaps too. Nice to see Gordon and Edwards back out there, tough 1st half as left Washington within striking distance after really controlling every aspect of the first half, but not enough to seperate Run Game looked fantastic last night DISGUSTING PENALTY by stripes to take a TEDDY away from ROME, so bad, but each week you can call some arbiturary penalty like that, who does and who doesn't at key times.... ugh. fought thru it

  31. Don't count Eastbrook out this year. Coach Adamson has his team clicking on all cylinders as they snapped Mississinewa's 30 game regular season winning streak. Look for Eastbrook to make a deep run and very possibly play Thanksgiving weekend.

  32. Brownstown made the playoffs in ‘77 when the point system was still going. Lost to Paoli in Round 1, who only made it because Lawrenceburg forfeited all their regular season games.

  33. If you go to a team page and click on “Tournament History” you’ll get a rundown of all postseason championships won and all postseason results played. As you can see here, Brownstown has been to semi-state three times but has never gone further.

  34. They had some success in the late 79’s and early 80’s under Howard Jackson. I’m pretty sure they made at least one and possibly two playoff appearances. But they’ve never advanced to a final.

  37. How wrong you are. I have been negative about Carroll and Crown Point to the extent that 23 and Counting has called me out on it. I was more just searching for a 2nd choice from the North should Carmel stub its toe….

  43. Peru was conference champs 2 years ago should they leave too? Peru also lost to Mac by 3 this year. NW was tied with Mac going into the 4th last week. 2021-2023 Mac was 2-6, 6-4, 7-4. What happens when Robinson, Sims and Tarrah graduate? Are they still as dominant? I don't know as much about Rochester, but they were 0-8 the year before Shaffer came in. I am NOT bashing on these programs. They are really good programs at the moment. However, to say they need to leave as if it's always been this way is nuts.
