  1. A thread for the 2022 broadcasts. If your school/team airs games, post 'em here so those of us who are home on Friday night (or in the car) can find them. I'll start: New Palestine: All games audio on NewPalRadio.com. Coverage begins one hour prior to kickoff. Home games video ($) on IHSAAtv.org/NewPalestine

  2. We have a fair amount of data at this point, you might want to read up a little on how ineffective all this shit was, not to mention how destructive it was. No I’m not going post link, you’re a big boy at least you play on the internet.

  3. This is entirely the fault of the GOP. Trump was in the White House and the Red States fought mask mandates and distance learning. https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/coronavirus-data/covid-death-rate?active[]=32&chart_type=map Mississippi leads the way in COVID deaths per capita. Utah made people pull into weigh stations to screen for COVID. Hawaii and Vermont are at the bottom, to no surprise.

  4. I understand what you are saying, but I don't quite agree with it. Sure, two big hitters squaring off will fill the stands in any round, but I think you will get MORE butts in seats if those two face off in round three versus round one. There are plenty of folks out there that have huge loyalty to teams and you'd be hard pressed to get them to break away their first round game to travel to another game, big ticket or not. Impossible if they actually have a kid or family member on their team playing that night. Now, if their own team gets knocked out first or second round, that fan would be much more inclined to roll a county or two over to watch the two heavyweights duke it out since their own team is done. And I'd venture they would be a little, or even much, less inclined to make that trek if it ends up being a game that will likely end up lopsided since one of the only two real contenders has been knocked out first round. In my highly uninformed opinion with absolutely no evidence to back any statements up, the first round of any given sectional should more or less be attended, overall, roughly equally throughout that sectional, no matter the randomness, or not, of the matchups. That is to say, if you're going to have about 8000 fans attending the first round of sectional X, you probably won't swing the pendulum too far one way or the other if the two top teams meet in that round or not. Local fans will be local fans. I'm hitting GS whether they are playing Heritage Hills first round or Washington (no offense Washington). But if GS is sitting at home the week of the sectional championship, I'm more likely to be at that championship game if it is the 1-2 seed versus the 1-5 or 2-4. I think that's how you get your better attendance later in the rounds, the marquee matchup. Of course there are plenty of football fans that aren't particularly loyal to any school close to where they live, so they'll certainly hit up whatever matchup looks best whether it is week one or week three, and maybe even travel several hours for it But I'd imagine the vast majority of first round games are attended by the family, friends, and loyal (and maybe even the casual) fans of the two teams playing whether it is a 1-8 game, a 4-5, or whatever. I really feel seeding would be more likely to get more folks traveling to games in the championship round once their own team is out. Not everyone is quite as diehard as some folks here on the GID, so it oftentimes just takes more hype to get them on the road once their own season is over.

  6. Nope....Nothing is better than beating SC 🤣 My favorite moment from that championship game was Joe Montana being interviewed afterward. he holds up the horns sign and says now I know what this mean; we are number one in both polls.....Classic

  7. And now we are at the final "comeback" that your fat-ass can muster. You, and the GOP, drove the country into the ground every time they held the Presidency in the 21st century, and one BIG time in the 20th. Your ballot is responsible for many of our nations woes, and it's provable. Suffer, prole.

  8. Which illustrates how much deeper the SIAC is than the PAC. Our second place conference teams were in 2A state finals and 4A semi-state. See the difference?

  9. What about a team that goes 9-0 and only returns 2 offensive starters the next year? Is a joke to expect them to take a step back? I would disagree with Mr 812 and think the JCats should be much higher on the rankings. They are a tough bunch and it’s gonna take a solid team to beat them. But in the preseason, every team has ?? that won’t be answered until they get into live action.

  10. Because 4th and 5th place in SIAC is weighted more than 2nd or 3rd in PAC.

  11. If this wasn't an expectation for Trump, it's not going to be an expectation for Biden. If it's Biden vs Trump in 2024, I choose Biden.

  12. No. I'm the only one calling out the BS by the GOP. Have you ever noticed that, since 1920, for every major disaster in our country's history, there was a GOP President in charge? Great Depression? Hoover, GOP 9-11? GWB, GOP Great Recession? GWB, GOP COVID-19? Trump, GOP It's like they, and the people who vote for them, plunge the country into chaos every time they are in charge.

  14. Yeah, I get it but if you want to be taken seriously as a 5A/6A contender you can’t get wrecked by a 3A school, no matter how good they are.

  15. Too many high level D’s saying no to 24, and they’re not saying it behind closed doors, in my opinion virtually zero chance he’s the nominee. I read an interesting article the other day, Biden’s 24 run is based on whether Trump runs or not. In his mind I believe he honestly isn’t in his comfort zone, I think he has reservations about running, but he believes he’s the only person who can beat Trump. This will ultimately play out with his handlers, they don’t want to give up power, but they may not have a choice. And given the chance to hitch their trailer to a winner, they’ll flee like rats off a sinking ship. Regardless of your politics, if we take a look at the last year and a half, I think you have to agree it’s been a shit show. Joe Biden couldn’t lead a line of ants to a bowl of jello. But in an all out war to displace the Orange Man, half of the country were willing to destroy the country. And as far as the COVID response, BOTH parties are to blame, it was a boondoggle from the beginning.

  16. Cluster in 83-84. IHSAA reaction to bias of point system that left out some top teams (example: Heritage Hills 1980 and SB St Joseph with consecutive undefeated seasons and then sued IHSAA ). Same result as point system, left out top teams. Can read previous comments by Irishman on how messed up it was (could play Wednesday night football to conclude regular season and then cluster tie breakers on Saturday) All in started 1985. Read Daniel Engler's book on Indiana fb playoff history for details.

  21. I have been going back and forth on 4a, but I think I have landed on New Pal as my favorite to win it. I know Brebeuf lost a lot, don’t know how Roncalli will be but I’m sure they will be one of the top teams as well. Memorial and East Central should be up there too. We will see how Kokomo does, they’re only 4 years removed from a state title appearance. Definitely leaving some contenders out but 4a is probably the deepest class in terms of programs who can win it all.

  22. WL renounced their Catholic faith and were exorcised out of the Sectional of Death. Got a pretty favorable placement in S25. Will still have to likely meet Mishawaka Marian in regionals or Chatard in semi-state, but I have to imagine they will welcome the odds in S25 than the previous seasons where they had to always have that early exit at the hands of their "Catholic brethren" looming in their minds when the ping pong balls started bouncing.

  23. yet somehow the recent coaches that have failed to turn Pike around didn't come from private schools. Jimmy Graves or Pat Echeverria couldn't turn around that program and neither were private school football coaches. Echeverria took a Eastern Hancock team to the state championship, and yet had a 5-25 record during his 3 years at Pike. You want to try and make some correlation between regarding private school coaches and lack of success at schools that historically have subpar football programs, knock yourself out. But my point is that as many, if not more formerly successful public school coaches have experienced the same lack of success at the same or similar programs when trying to turn them around. Don't get overly flustered with someone disagrees with your half-cocked theories based on your lack of comprehension of basic statistical principles. Considering the source, I'll take your immature comment as a compliment.

  24. That's scary. Who of significance are they actually returning other than Marshall? IMO, they lost way too much talent from last year to be thinking a step down to 5A will open the gates for them. Granted, they basically get a bye through Sectionals, but isn't it too premature to be thinking State Finals or bust? 5A North looks wide open to me and should be highly entertaining.

  25. Ever think maybe that is not the whole reason they went there? They are educators too. I would say year 1 (3-8), year 2 (5-7), year 3 (6-4), and year 4 (7-4) is a turn around in the right direction. That was one coach. Another year 1 (3-7), year 2 (9-3), year 3 (6-4), year 4 (6-4) year 5 (1-9).

  26. I never said they would have. Wasting time on hypotheticals here is pointless. My comments are based solely on what has actually happened. I have explained multiple times what expansion would do….bring in line the number of federal districts with the number of justices. Being an “originalist” is a joke. Do you mean the one the States originally ratified? When slavery was legal, but slaves were counted as 3/5 of a person? Did not allow women to vote? Or after slavery was made illegal? after white women were given the right to vote? Or when minority women being able to vote? Or does each originalist just get to pick and choose which amendments matter and which ones don’t?

  27. Seriously? Never figured you would become so partisan to only see one side in this instance, one that has been so obviously partisan. Merrick Garland ring a bell? Then to do the exact opposite with the Coney-Barrett nomination? Granted, RBG's gamble bit the democrats BIG time. She should have retired while Obama was President. What would be the justification for expanding the court beyond the number of federal districts? What is the justification for having fewer justices than districts? The reality is that it will be viewed as stacking by the opposing side.
    1 point
  28. The claim could easily be made that the GOP packed the current court though. It's not as though the number of justices serving has been set in stone. If the point of expanding to 9 was to have one justice per federal circuit courts, then with the current 13 districts, it makes sense to match that, right?

  31. Any news on NLC teams? Warsaw just finished their "Dawn Patrol" week. Every day this week, early in the morning, the Tigers meet at various parks throughout the city and do various workouts/physical tests. Stuff like flipping tires, running hills, bear crawls, wheelbarrow carries, etc. One day they even trained with fire fighting equipment. Tomorrow they head to Manchester University as part of the TMT (Triple - Midline - Toss) Option Camp. There are a handful of teams that come every year. I think this year Fairfield, Munster, Northfield and a team from Illinois and a team from Canada will be there. What are the other NLC schools up to?

  32. The DNC's plan is becoming clearer: 1. Mr. Biden needs to leave office before the 2022 mid-term elections. Either by death or medical incapacitation. 2. Under the 25th amendment, Ms. Harris would become POTUS. 3. Also under the 25th amendment, Ms. Harris will name Hillary Clinton as her successor for VP. This is where "before the mid-term election" becomes important, because such a nomination needs to be confirmed by a majority vote of both houses of Congress. 4. Ms. Clinton is confirmed and becomes VP before the mid-term elections. 5. Ms. Harris declines to run for POTUS in 2024. 6. Ms. Clinton, now VP, announces her candidacy for POTUS in 2024.

  34. Yes, seriously. Are you saying that a democrat POTUS and his handlers would choose less partisan candidates for a justice? And there is no non-political justification for expanding the court beyond it's current size. This is just the democratic side of the Uni-Party coin crying and stamping their feet.
