  1. They have to wait for all the argument threads to get shut down before they can make a final decision.

  2. Exactly @tango. The Jewell is surrounded by restrooms for the gentlemen of Gibson County. The rest of the world just calls them ‘cornfields.’ 😂

  3. Lies??? I guess I have more of a inside source than you and your media articles. FACT is he is becoming healthy again. NOBODY is forcing anyone to play football, it is truly all voluntary. You would think that kids and parents were being held at gunpoint to play. That is so far from the fact. If you don't want to play dont. If you do not want to go to a game... dont go. It really is that simple. Risks are way down in our state. Rising cases and lowering death rates... hmmm. You are the stat guy, look it up.. in the whole state of Indiana today there are 538 confirmed covid patients hospitalized... Lets just pretend that they are all in there from covid only. We are a state of 6.77 MILLION people. Club sports have been going on ALL summer long. Deaths still dropping. I guess #FlattenTheCurve was never about saving people. This has become a pandemic of liability now, not death. Its sad. I am not descended from fearful men, but some of you are. Oh yea... I am a Covid Survivor. I am one of those stats. My dad 76 with underlying health conditions.. Covid Survivor.. The proof is in the puddin.

  4. Can't make a vaccine that works for influenza. No vaccine for RSV. Can't cure cancer. But they sure as shit can make a vaccine in 6 months for an illness that they STILL don't understand. How's that kool-aid taste

  6. So, I thought I would start a thread for this year. It will be interesting to see how season plays out. I'll start thread with news of a kid from Bolingbrook, IL will enroll and play at Snider this year due to IL moving season to spring. Ison Robinson is player, don't see too much about him, so not sure what the impact will be for the Panthers. Guess he/his family has moved to Fort Wayne. Anybody know anything more?

  7. College football players started a movement, behind Trevor Lawrence. It’s called #WeWantToPlay. Indiana High School Football players should be ready to do the same. Almost as important as the above is now we all have the opportunity to show we want to have a season by promoting and supporting #WeWantToPlay. We can all come together on this and apply pressure back against. Everyone who gets mad when some of us when we say you are cheering for the season to be cancelled, now is your chance to prove us wrong and get behind the CFB players. The players have the leverage to get this done with our support. We will see who really wants the season to happen. I am on record as saying I support the #WeWantToPlay movement 100%. I care for the kids and what they want. And they want to play. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/trevor-lawrence-leads-college-football-players-in-speaking-out-to-save-2020-season-amid-coronavirus-concerns/

  9. Enough of the "long term effects" BS from something we just starting dealing with 6 months ago. Its these kinds of fear porn stories why we are being paralyzed by something we shouldn't be anymore.

  10. It really doesn’t have anything to do with toughness. If the health department says shut down, you shut down. Also, all it takes is one positive test, and everything can be shut down.

  11. It is my belief the IHSAA has passed the call on to each school district. If we were in the playoffs at this point, like we were with basketball in March, then it is their call. But at this point they are what poker players call......pot committed.

  12. So u belittle Chatard for winning titles in 3A, the class they’re suppose to be in per enrollment, so funny. While Cathedral has a recruiting advantage over everyone. It’s comical u consider Cathedral in the same breathe as Chatard and other Catholic schools anyway. I always find it laughable that Cathedral never shows the middle school that it’s athletes come from on the game rosters while Chatard lists the deanery schools. Chatard is the reliable Honda that everyone respects while Cathedral is the Tesla that everyone knows the driver has intimacy issues.

  13. Here's the deal. Everyone has their own opinion of risk. To be totally one-sided and not see the other person's side is well...short-sided. To downplay a mother's concern for her child and the fact he could've died is wrong. I hope you don't have anyone you care about get really sick or die from this. Now do I think we should play? The answer is yes. But if people on the team or in their classroom get sick they will have to sit out and quarantine. If they test positive they will miss 4 weeks of the season between the 14 days off and the 10 days of practice, not to mention the IHSAA stating that the students will need to get their heart checked and cleared by a doctor. This is a risk because we don't have any idea about the long term effects of this virus or if you get it once will you be immune from getting it again. So if you are asymptomatic the first time will you be asymptomatic the second time? So if some people feel that they don't want to play or if some schools or conferences don't want to play that is their assessment of the risk. Instead of being a jerk about it accept their feelings.

  15. I would hope not.. there is not supporting data in Indiana to cancel HS Football. Deaths continue to drop and have flattened EVEN with this "spike". Thats even with the lag to death timeline. Testing is inaccurate both ways. Then about 6 weeks ago the term "positivity rate" was introduced as we flattened the death curve.. We can skew that if we want.. everyone go get tested. For positivity rate to mean anything you have to have a constant. And we just have open testing.. im not getting tested unless I am sick. So positivity rate, to me, is a better measure of the chance that you could have covid IF you feel sick. But all of the sudden deaths don't matter. Then the mom of that freshman IU linemen makes a huge post how her son is really struggling, media picks it up runs with it, would have thought he died. Actually he is back with his teammates, attending workouts and healthy.. imagine that.. at the rate we won't play football for a decade...

  16. Does the Jewell still have the portajohns on the visitor side? Back of the envelope math, but 250 fans x $5 a person x 4-5 home games amounts to $5-6 grand. Unless they are gold-plated thrones, I can’t imagine they would cost that much. Then again, I’m not in the porta-potty business, although I have been told I’m full of it....

  19. I thought the main reason for a shutdown was to "flatten the curve." Knowing the virus was going to spread to nearly everyone at some point but to keep hospitals from being too full to handle the ones who would need help. Now hospitals are sitting below half capacity in our area and nurses with 20 years experience are being let go because the hospitals are going broke.

  20. Or we could go back to the old days ... when the officials called penalties using a small horn worn on the wrist.

  21. There is literally NOTHING we could have done or can do, to stop a virus from naturally spreading. Lockdowns only prolong the agony, and create more serious issues short-term and long-term then they do fix anything. Look at places like Australia and Japan and Isreal that supposedly did things "right" by locking everyone into their homes for months. The virus doesn't go away when you are allowed to venture out. It appears to be very seasonal and works its way through the population in given places, however it pleases and at a similar timeframe. When its your time to have the virus, you have it and there is nothing you can do to stop that. Masks or no masks make ZERO difference keeping the virus from doing what it naturally is going to do. The reason why college football and high school football and literally everything else gets shut down or never gets started in the first place is because we are being governed by fear and we have people making decisions who literally have no idea what they are doing. And waiting for and thinking a vaccine will make everything right is about as foolish as it gets. Although with as delusional many people are in this country now, giving them Flintstone vitamins and telling them this will help you, might be good enough.

  22. I would tend to agree. It seems that the Republicans and Democrats love to spread fear and panic, whereas the sensible one seem to be the Libertarians (See Dr. Ron Paul's facebook page. Let's hope sanity and information rules the day.

  23. https://fox8.com/news/lakewood-city-schools-reversing-its-decision-to-suspend-fall-sports-extracurricular-activities/ If you posted stories like these along with all of yours “cancelled” posts, we might not say you are cheering for the season to be cancelled. As it is, you don’t. That’s how I know you want it to be cancelled. Anyone who legitimately wants a season is trying to find ways to have one, won’t even consider the thought of not having a season and would only post positive stories to try and get more positive energy. Whereas, you only post negative stories and argue for why we should t or can’t ha e a season.

  24. Probably around 90 kids. Three 20 minute periods. Freshman vs JV, 1s vs 2s, 1s vs 2s again. Makes an environment where you can see who is playing up.

  25. So many excuses, Little Bro. I wouldn’t trade our state title numbers for your 3A title numbers ever. We both know if you had to go through Cathedral or Roncalli in half of those title runs, you wouldn’t have 1/3 of dem rings. It’s kinda like J/V state. You have the same access Cathedral does. You have half of the IndyWest Deanery on your roster this year. So, don’t poor mouth your Chatard Recruiting ability...

  27. Jeez, IWG, do you take the little blue pills whenever you see the word “Chatard”? It’s like you are responding to yourself. I get it, though,........most of you wealthy antiquarians at Cathedral occasionally need a bit of an “assist”. Good on you Irish for keeping on keeping on, though. Excepting me, of course, we all need a bit of an occasional “lift”. You’re wrong per your earlier self-responding post, of course...no shock there. You belittled comparing the size of schools earlier as regards Chatard v. Cathedral (which in most years is twice as large as Chatard...despite recent declines in Cathedral student population....you guys need to switch some of that financial “need” dollars to regular students) yet you were happy to step out of 6A after you didn’t make the cut. The reality here is that Cathedral can reach out and talk DIRECTLY to every individual archdiocese student and parent by phone and tell them they can be a star and win a State Ring at Cathedral (or, not mentioned during that phone call, simply be gold helmet fodder....). Chatard can’t call anyone (about ANYTHING)....including their own Archdiocese kids. That said, it would be hard for me to imagine that the rest of the state could dislike Cathedral more (as in “hate”) if they recognized Cathedral’s full advantages...... OK...Cathedral is 15-5 v. Chatard the last 20 years. You were wrong (no surprise). I'm thinking Chatard’s 10 State Championships the last 20 years vs Cathedral’s lesser number might have addled you.

  29. Kids will do that. Challenge them to do something different. Pass out seat cushions for kids to put between each other. Make every night costume night Have them dress up is astronaut space suits...or as AquaMan......or in full body hot dog outfits...so they're covered up and cant spread the virus... Schedule the older boys and girls to have a 'Divorce Night' ...... where you sit as far away from your girlfriend as possible.... (too much?)
