Personally, I think MV is overrated. Barely beat a zero win Boonville and barely beat HH despite HH having 5 turnovers. GS feeds them a running clock in 18 minutes. I think HH is a better team than MV and BV.

Yes, I would say very close. While I am obviously biased, HH beats Mt. Vernon if we got to play again. 5 turnovers is hard to overcome (but we only lost by 5) But yes, you are accurate, I believe.

I think both are true. Trubisky is likely better than how he looked while playing in Nagy's offense, but he's still not starter material. The guy needs what Buffalo had him do in the pre-season: A lot of rollouts and narrow down the reads. He can't sit in the pocket and read his progressions. My guess is he'll have a long career as a backup and generate Fitzmagic type buzz when an injury gives him start starts. Nagy is a distaster and should have been fired last season. I listen to a lot of Chicago sports radio while working. The Chicago media was calling for Pace/Nagy's head on a platter last year and National talking heads that make the daily rounds on Chicago sports shows all chimed in that Nagy/Pace didn't deserve another season. The owners son (George) went on one show after the season and was getting absolutely grilled on he could say he wants the Bears to succeed but has a career Accountant (Ted Phillips) running football operations. All he could say is they trust Pace/Nagy to make the football decisions. Nagy is just clueless. I respect Rex Ryan as a defensive mind and here was his view on Sunday: "...thirty drop backs in this game, 21 times to go five man protection, Are you out of your mind? I wouldn't do that with Tom Brady. This is absolutely ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous." It's a valid point. Cleveland's D Line was killing the horribly constructed Bears O-Line and Nagy is still going with 5 man protection. Crazy. The disaster this season will turn into was inevitable at the end of last season with Ted and George praised Pace/Nagy as the football guys. Ted is a career riser on the Financial side of the Bears org and has no business as Pres. of football operations. George is part of a family that has no knowledge of football other than their dad married George Halas' daughter (Virginia). The best hope for Bears fans at this point is for the McCaskey children to cash in on their inheritance and sell the team once Virginia (Age of 98) passes.

I say the chances of this happening in the next 50 years is less than 1/10 of 1%. Memorial and Mater Dei are supported by a fairly large number of feeder school parishes and a few non-school parishes that all pay an assessment (tax) each year to help keep tuition as low as possible for Catholic families. And even with that, tuition has increased significantly in recent years (by almost 100% over the past 8 years). There just aren't enough parishes in northern Vanderburgh County or southern Gibson County to support a third HS. I suspect if the diocese even announced they were considering building a third HS, there would be a lot of push-back. Parishes already complain about the current assessment, much less if they had to pay more to support a third school. You also have to remember that unlike the Vatican, no diocese is sitting on a pot of gold (at least not the Evansville diocese). It would take a significant amount of capital to build a new school, which could only come from private donations. The Bishop would get an ear-full from the high-level Memorial and MD donors.

Agree with this. I was at the Eastbrook v Frankton game and we talked about how many Sophmores were on this team and getting a lot of playing time. If they are able to keep everybody together for the next couple years I could for sure see this team be in the top half of the conference again.

They're a few plays from being 4-2. Last year, they were blown out by Brownsburg, Carmel, Center Grove and Avon. They lost to Lawrence North in OT. That's what put them 2-5.

Your 2 wrong predictions in the HHC this year are against FC. Hopefully this doesn't make it 3 for you.

As a GS fan who has been on this forum since I was in high school at Gibson Southern over 10 years ago….I love this team but I can’t do this to myself again and look ahead GS has been a contender from the south every year since 2013…like every year…top 5 ranked and all…and we do this every year because we see the potential. I would love for GS to make it to LOS…especially since I’m traveling back to Indiana thanksgiving weekend….but let’s just take it a game at a time. Win Today! Never settle! I believe! It’s not about impacting the team it’s more about the fatigue of doing the same things over and over again for the past decade for GS. If the team is good enough to make it there, they will be there….barring an ice storm and a trip to indy

I’m not really in the pick em. But I’ll do some analysis just for fun. East vs Chatard. I really do think East is starting to figure it out. FC didn’t play terribly, outside of a couple bad passes in the Redzone. The East running game is getting better. I think Chatard wins this game but I expect that East will hang around in that game for a while. Seymour vs Jennings County. JC is pretty much a win for everyone. 1 step forward, and 2 steps back. Seymour is an enigma. They can play well one week and not so well the week after. You never know with them? It’s been that way since Goodman left. Seymour here. FC vs BNL. BNL fans probably feel like they should get this one. And I’d be obliged to agree if this game were up there. But FC seems to be getting better by the week, and the schedule softening helps as well. FC hasn’t won a game at home this season. Should be a good crowd on hand, and BNL has a very dangerous QB. However Robertson is the next QB star in this conference and I predict that him and WR Branham have big games. FC in a close one. Game of the week. Jeffersonville vs New Albany. I’m picking Jeffersonville in an upset. New Albany loves to stub their toe. And Steve Cooley teams are known for it. They’re going to lose 1 more HHC game. Either this one, or against FC. I’m picking this one. Jeffersonvilles defense did a great job vs Silver Creek. I think Silver Creek is better than New Albany and Jeffersonville was able to beat them on the road. Jeffersonville in a close one. And before any of my fans bust my chops, these are only “my opinions.” I don’t claim to be an all knowing expert or a Nostradamus of Football. I'll be that guy, for discussion reasons. I've seen plenty of actions similar to this that have not been flagged. Some way worse. What makes this UR. Does history of the particular player have anything to do it? Has he made this type of suplex style tackle earlier and been warned? Was the whistle blown before the foul occurred? I faintly hear what sounds like a whistle and suspect this is the case. What exactly constitutes UR during an effort to get a runner down that wont seem to just go down? Hopefully the young man involved is recovering well.
