Drayk Bowen. Nothing else needs to be said4 points

I imagine @Piratefan101 is at least 5 shots in somewhere on Broadway Avenue for having to deal with the fact the Valparaiso Vikings are kings of the 5A North and the hated Andrean Fighting '59'ers are heading back to LOS. It's going to be a very painful weekend for Cody. Perhaps Warriors4Life makes an appearance.2 points

A lot of people around here thought NP would go to state. Losing our starting RB hurt. But I knew that beating Roncalli did not equal state. Best RB was probably at East Central. What a game.2 points

against the wishes of my court appointed therapist (she don't know nuffin) I will be gracing a team with my presence for the 2023 season If you're a head coach looking for some help in the next year then look no further I will be taking over the role of defensive coordinator and due to my philosophical beliefs; the best defense is a good offense I will also be taking care of the offensive coordinator position. I don't believe in punting, kicking field goals, the one point conversion, sportsmanship of any kind, the mercy rule, throwing the ball before the final moments of a blowout victory, or the curvature of the earth in order to garner more practice time for glorious tackling drills we will only be running two offensive plays Dive, and the fake victory formation touchdown pass we will be splitting practice into two sections everyday 3 and a half hours of weight training and 3 and a half hours of tackling drills I'll refrain from exposing my defensive strategic genius here yes I absolutely will be taking over a teaching job at your school I fancy myself a shaper of young minds However I will only teach Calculus, US Supremacy History, or Art please refrain from any offers below 2a I need the space in my inbox p.s. your town must have a dive bar with at least one old crazy dude in there daily, and I mean absolutely nuts p.p.s. this has been sent to my editor, and he has assured me there is no foul language of any kind.2 points

It has become evident to me that apparently the playoffs are much less interesting without us in it.2 points

On the plus side though, you don't need HandWarmers for your cajones. Lord, I apologize for that there.2 points

Marshall loves running Wildcat off tackle. It has to be demoralizing for a D-Line that can't stop it. Man, I agree with @scarab527. Marshall is a great coach whose style is tailor made for playoff football.1 point

Not arguing that at all and not blaming anyone or saying it’s “unfair” or anything of the sort. I was simply explaining why my previous post stated the Knights were “a lowly 2A team” when talking about Carroll. I came away from this more impressed with Andrean than anything. They absolutely imposed the will of Bowen on Luers. Special player ND is getting!1 point

I think I woke the neighbors screaming at the laptop when the Valpo QB made that incredible play.1 point

I had HSE by 11. The only thing I was right about was that I didn't think Carroll would get wasted by 3+ touchdowns like MANY were predicting. Signature win for Fort Wayne.1 point

Bermuda grass. Great for a grass football field. At least until the first freeze of the year. Then it turns brown.1 point

True David vs Goliath efforts tonight from Adams Central, Luers, Chatard, New Prairie, Lutheran, Whiteland and Valpo. Those 2+ hour climate controlled long bus rides are a bitch.1 point

2013.. Had flurries. And a LOT of dudes in Carhartt Jackets that somehow found their way into the glassed in building at the South end zone for the 2nd half. 22 players on the field. 5 officials. 4 guys on the chains. Coaches...and maybe 30 players per team as subs, left on the turf surface! No Cheerleaders, no fans, no stragglers. Yeah it was cold as hell!!!1 point

Yep, saw this one first-hand too. My son kicked a far-side sky-kick and no one from the receiving team was near it. Unfortunately, the gunner caught the ball in the air before it hit the ground. Everyone in stands was going wild and I'd just shook my head as I knew what call was coming ... I'd actually talked with my son about that rule before he left to go get on the bus and head out. Maybe I should have talked to the gunner? 🙂1 point

Alive, well, and retired in Summerville, SC. I do miss watching the Knights on the field, court, stage, etc.1 point

Didn't help that the crew refused to change FB's did it? I had a nice "discussion" with a few of them earlier this year....It didn't go well 🤫1 point

Agreed, I was THERE! Sounded pretty cool playing the featured game on Saturday, until "Mother Nature" changed the entire thang....1 point

1992 was Danville except colder and frozen mud instead of artificial turf. The lights did work the entire game though..1 point

Stated it earlier in this thread - but eventually the Miners will have to figure out the "MD Curse/Spell" or whatever it is you want to call it that they've had over them since our Sectional 40 days. Totally a shot out of left field as I haven't seen much of these 2 teams , but law of averages says Linton should eventually when one of these. Plus I don't think MD is what they were last year. Give me Linton by 2 scores.1 point

I was the Referee in that game. It was my absolute worst in my career. The mud ruts on the field froze during the 2nd half and you risked turning an ankle with every step. Norwell’s Chandler Harnish was the only one who could get any traction, it seemed. We wore white knickers in those days. I left mine in the locker room trash can. They were beyond salvage. That’s the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been on a football field.1 point

Last year. Sectional Semi-Final at South Adams. Brutal cold and rain all night. Not the fun kind of mud bowl...unless you won the game...which we didn't lol. One of those memories that both players and coaches on both ends will never forget. Heck, my feet are still cold and wet from the standing water on the sidelines and the 4 inch deep mud. Part of what makes our game so unique.1 point

Luers has never really gotten much respect from the locals, at least outside of their program. Fort Wayne is and has always been a Snider/Dwenger town. Every other school is kind of an afterthought when compared to those 2. Now that said, these 2 teams are very evenly matched. Both have good athletes and are playing physical football. Both are very well coached teams with a lot of tradition in the tourney. Give me Luers 31-27 in a slugfest!1 point
