Plymouth had 2 wins last year coming off of back to back Zero win seasons. Not sure it's fair to say pasting anyone should be expected for Plymouth.3 points

You must be new here? He's advocated for the last 15 years that teams take knees for 3 straight plays and punt for the remainder of the game once the 35 point threshold is crossed.3 points

Why? It's perfectly fine to use when applicable. Absolutely no shame in saying Crown Point was better than Westfield on that night. Do I think if Crown Point played a full HCC schedule and then Carmel, Noblesville, and HSE back to back to back weeks in the playoffs they go 13-1 last year? Absolutely not and I don't think many would argue that either. But that's irrelevant. In the playoffs, all CP had to do was be better than Westfield on that night. And they were. And that's all that matters.2 points

I think Sectional 28 with Chatard, Guerin, Brebeuf and West Lafayette a few years ago was also called the sectional of death on this forum.2 points

Hearing the lamentations of their women probably would get my players to play a little harder to be honest.2 points

Tech has a home game this Friday so it's a moot point, but otherwise agree. Tech is a great venue.2 points

Not gonna disagree with the general point here, but do you really think the results in those state games would’ve been that much different had HSE and Westfield played in them instead? Cause I’m pretty sure CG and BD would’ve taken them to the woodshed as well. I do think it’s fair to say though that the “one off” characterization becomes less justifiable when it happens two years in a row. Once can be a fluke, twice in a row and you have to start reevaluating, imo.1 point

Three hours now? First it was 2.5 hours. Does Westfield check googlemaps and always take the longest route? Two hours nine minutes.1 point

I’ve been told VL complained. I don’t get why you can’t start at 6:30 when playing VL or Jasper and 7:00 for everyone else. That wouldn’t be hard at all.1 point

This should be the type of schedule Snider plays, not Dwenger. East Noble has no business on the Panthers schedule. Even if they beat Snider, I will feel the same way. Next year we lose Warren Central and pickup Warsaw. Joy. East Noble, a 4A school, and Warsaw, a 5A school. Nothing to gain for Snider with either game.1 point

In 6A, I don't get how Lake Central is receiving votes. Also, Center Grove is ranked too low and Carmel is ranked too high.1 point
-
Sure would be nice to have start times of 7:00. You know like the rest of the State does. I hate that our conference does 6:30 start times for teams both in Evansville.1 point

I don't think it does either. most of time these kids are now traveling in chartered busses.1 point

Going 1-0 against the HCC in a winner take all elimination game is entirely different than going 9-1 against the HCC which was Westfield's record against all HCC opponents.1 point
-
1.) Absolutely not and they have not proven to be yet. 2.) Except Brownsburg, Cathedral, and Center Grove played Ben Davis on turf fields with no snowstorm or even rain. All 3 matched Ben Davis speed very well. Ben Davis 38 Crown Point 10 Ben Davis 37 Center Grove 34 in OT (speaks for itself) Ben Davis 27 Cathedral 24 (Cathedral drove down the field throwing an Int in the end-zone to end the game) Ben Davis 28 Brownsburg 25 (Brownsburg controlled most of the game)1 point

Really not much to base Crown Point off of. In 2021 CP lost to Merrillville 29-13 in Sectional Round 1, Merrillville went on to lose to Westfield 48-19 in Semi State. In 2022 CP lost to Lafayette Jeff in Sectionals Championship Laf Jeff lost to State Runner-up Carroll. 2023 CP beat Westfield in 2 OT then was beat soundly by Ben Davis. Having watched the games there is no way Brownsburg should have lost to Ben Davis as they were controlling that game. Both Cathedral and Center Grove gave Ben Davis very tight games. In my opinion had Crown Point played Brownsburg, Center Grove, or Cathedral instead of Ben Davis they would have been beaten soundly. That of course is my opinion.1 point
-
Obviously an opinion, but if Crown Point played a predominantly 6A Indy area schedule like the rest of the top teams in 6A, their record would reflect as such. And that record wouldn't justify a #2 ranking and all honesty likely wouldn't crack the top 2. But then again, there is absolutely zero way to quantify this hypothetical is simply why I said it is of "my belief".1 point
-
My belief that there are 6-8 6A teams in Central Indiana better than Crown Point, 3 or 4 of them who would all win going away.1 point

On the right night ? Dude stop . It's far too early in the season for you to start spewing your BS .1 point

Nah, they caught Westfield on the right night. They are a top half HCC team, which is going to be perceived as disrespect but is a compliment in and of itself.1 point

There it is! Show us on the doll where someone ran the score up on you.1 point

Ohatcheee (Small school in AL) Won on a Hail Mary that bounced off of three players I believe. Final Score 71-70. Both teams were running up the score!1 point

I’m just going to say it, if a TB had been called, no one would have cared…….just sayin……..1 point

I do wish some teams would continue to run their offense even up by 35 points. Run it with the JV kids just like you would with the varsity. Let the JV QB get some passes in. Clock doesn't stop so an incompletion wouldn't change anything. Get those guys some reps instead of running 3 straight dives and punting.1 point

I would place Westfield or HSE above FW Snider or Crown Point in 6A North right now.1 point

After 1 week , I would give the nod to Fort Wayne Snider as being the best 6A Northern team . We will know a lot more about CP when they play Valpo .1 point

That would be an acceptable option as well. Thank you for contributing. No.1 point

Don't make him think too much. Muda's mental gymnastics hurt my brain from time to time.1 point

They are definitely on the up and up and the best team in the northern portion of the state. They aren't the 2nd best team in 6A though, not even close.1 point

You were talking last year like they were the next coming of Christ . What happened ?1 point

What kind of publicity do they deserve? Should their names and home addresses be published? Perhaps they should have to write a letter of apology “to whom it may concern.” Man, you think it’s hard to get sufficient numbers of officials now. SMH1 point

I get there’s only been 1 week but Whiteland receiving a first place vote, and even being 2nd in 5a is a crime following a 14 point home win over a program who was 0-10 last year. In addition, Concord, Lafayette Jeff, and even Kokomo are more deserving of a spot than Plainfield1 point

Im confused. Aren’t you the same @BLACKGOLD2007 that was concerned penn had a terrible offense and couldn’t “generate a fart”. Now penn is scoring too much and too quickly for your liking? SMH1 point

That’s not why meeting attendance is important. At your stage, I think association meetings are more important than working a middle school game with one other official. Learn the right way first, rather than having to later unlearn bad habits you might pick up working such games without at least one experienced official who can “mentor” you during the game.1 point

Week 1 in the books...Two things stood out to me from last Friday. While I know nothing about Twin Lakes...good for Plymouth! Putting up 53 points on anyone is a great way to start the season...I hope those boys can keep that going. The second is Goshen...come on giving up 55 to a 3A is tough...I just don't get it...and as I have said multiple times, that game will stick with the young men from Goshen all season. On to this weeks predictions: Columbia City at Plymouth: CC shut out Busco, so they must be doing something right. Plymouth had their biggest win in a long long time and I hope that carries over to Friday. This will be my upset special. I will take Plymouth in a tight one. Plymouth 21 CC 20 Concord at Jimtown: Jimtown played way better than their score showed from Friday. They drove the ball the entire first half against NW, coming up short of a couple of touchdowns. Concord squeaks one out against Elkhart (and people say kicking is no longer relevant in football). I'm not sold on Elkhart as of yet, but good for Concord pulling that out. I think Jimtown will tighten things up from last week and will play Concord well. I think this will be a close game with Concord on top. Concord 28 Jimtown 21 New Prairie at Goshen: Not a whole lot to say about this game...lots of yards on the ground will be seen by multiple players from New Prairie...Its going to be a long night for Goshen. NP 45 Goshen 14 Northridge at Elkhart: NR lost a tough one on Friday as did Elkhart. I think this game is really evenly matched. I still don't know what to think of Northridge. I am taking the home team in a close one. Elkhart 21 NR 14 Penn at Mishawaka: Mishawaka got things going against Marian last week. The only down side to that...this week its Penn rather than a rebuilding Knights club. I think Penn is for real this real and is a well rounded team. I can see Mishawaka slowing Penn down a bit...but the thing about Mishawaka...they can not play catch up with the bart ball. Penn 45 Mishawaka 14 Warsaw at Warren Central: This is going to be a fun game...Warsaw's bart ball vs. Warren's defense. A lot of talk about Warren this year and they shut out a Snider last week. I don't think Snider is as good as they were last year (they should have lost to Mishawaka in the playoffs last year) however, that is not taking anything away from WC. I think Warsaw will make WC work for this win, and I would say it would be closer if it were at Warsaw. WC 42 Warsaw 28 West Noble at Wawasee: Its going to be a long year for the fellas in Syracuse...and lake season is about over. Not much more to say here...West Noble 42 Wawasee 7 Portage at NorthWood: I don't know a lot about Portage (other than they are holding on to that mascot...good for them). Last year I noticed they had some big boys on their team...and then showed size does not in fact matter. Last Friday we saw that NW has a quarterback...for his first game...you couldn't ask for a better performance. NW will need to shore things up on Defense before playing some of those bart ball teams. If they can't get that under control, its going to be tough going. Their offense will be fine. NW 35 Portage 141 point
