Laville at North Judson: The metal/rock music at Liberty Field plus the team in the home locker room are too much for the Lancers. 41-14 Blue Jays Taylor at Pioneer: Taylor has come on strong in the last few weeks. However, Pioneer is clicking and focused. Running clock sometime in the 4th Q. 49-13 Panthers Triton at North Miami: Both teams are fired up for a rematch. Both fan bases are fired up for ham salad! Last time, North Miami had their way with the Trojan defense for the first 30 min. Trojan defense had their way with the North Miami offense the last 18. Triton will have had 3 weeks to prepare by 7pm on Friday. This one comes down to situational football (3rd/4th down and redzone conversions mainly). If North Miami can take away Triton's big plays from last time, I think they win. If Triton has been able to put in some wrinkles, they will be tough to tangle with. Always hard to beat a good team twice. Unfortunate that someone has to lose this one. I'll go with the home team. 27-21 Fightin' Ham Salad Sandwiches I think it's pretty cool that there's a strong possibility of 3 HNAC schools representing the final 4 in 1A north.

I agree. I don’t trust Merrillville either but they still are the best team CP faced or will face through Penn game. Merrillville always has a very talented team but finds ways to lay an egg in playoffs.

#1 Memorial and #2 Heritage Hills have only met 17 times, all in the 3A tournament with 7 games being for the Sectional title and 2 being for a Regional title. The biggest game in Southwest Indiana by a mile.

Arguably, Merrillville is CP’s toughest opponent this season not Penn. Penn won in a shootout over a very average Valpo team.

Yes when you factor in all games at all levels. It's still a struggle to find someone to cover the sub-varsity, middle school, youth leagues, flag leagues etc. Somehow we are covering the varsity games each week. I didn't hear of many games that had to get moved off Friday due to a lack of officials. But I do know crews were scrambling to find subs some weeks, and I believe there were some who worked 4-man crews.

I keep asking myself this question…is there a coach currently in the 6A state tournament that I trust more than Eric Moore? And I keep coming back to the same answer. No.

Thanks for all the replies to this. I was going to register but it looks like it would be pointless to register before April 1st. I’ll do that in April. I officiated for 3 years back in 08’-11’ then had little kids. My youngest just finished 6th grade youth (I coached) so now I am free again. Excited to get back into it.

As SF reflects on casting my ballot this morning, I was re-living the events of 4 years ago where we were told to believe that Joe Biden had received more (legal) votes than any other President in the history of the United States. The most votes of any previous President. Today - The most popular President in the history of our country, according to the numbers of the last election, is kicked off the ballot by his party and replaced with his Vice President. SF is left wondering how it even happened that the "Most popular President in history of our country EVER" was suddenly so unpopular that his own party kicked him out....... Looking at the record number of people waiting in line to vote this morning at my polling place (church) by the house where it normally takes about 15 minutes in and out (over 45 minutes this morning - in the rain) and knowing most of the people in my community, SF thinks the silent majority has been awakened.......Maybe this election will be too big to rig.

Happy Election Day! Two big fights this week Bulldogs vs Tigers and Trump vs Kamala... Many similarities between the two. The "Sleepy" Joe-Joe's decided to step down and give the Bulldogs a fraudulent run at the sectional championship. The dogs keep making campaign promises of a new and improved team fresh from injury, but time will tell if they will also flee back to Kansas... Neither Kamala or the Dogs can protect these borders huh? Just like Trump is standing against rising inflation rates. I have seen this posted too... I didn't see Geske (#14) take his helmet off until after the play... And again, the officials made the wrong call... Because they removed #14 for the play (after the incorrect penalty was called and gave Brebeuf the opportunity to replay 4th down).

Absolutely. Those to interceptions were massive. The Elkhart "drive" of 89 yards was the result of a very long pass down the field that put them at the Snider 10. Long plays count too, I'm not saying they don't. I'm just saying it wasn't the kind of 89 yard drive that chewed up a lot of clock. And yeah, the holding penalty was a major setback. My guess is that they would have been going for a field goal regardless. At the end of the day, Snider made the plays they needed to to win the game. I couldn't help but to feel for the Elkhart kids as they played their hearts out. Unfortunately, one team had to win, one had to lose. Snider seems to take over games midway though the third and into the fourth, just as they did last year against Merrillville and Decatur Central..........both close first half games that turned into blowouts.

Never thought I would be typing this, but IU is a whopping 14 point favorite over Michigan. As long as Rourke stays healthy, I got IU 38-17 winners in this game

How good are the top 4 teams in the HNAC? The only non-conference losses by any of those teams were to 3A Knox (Pioneer) and 2A Bremen (Triton) - who are both playing for sectional titles this week. I think the real measure will come in the regional game between either North Miami or Triton, and Madison Grant. An HNAC win in that game would absolutely solidify the HNAC as the best 1A football conference in the state!
