Was quite rude and mean, with colorful word choice he yelled at those zebras, with an angry big voice he came at them like a dog with no restrain Told them he hopes they never ref again "but sir, you already won" cried one of the crew "you know what? You're out next week and the week after too!" They ended his season, oh but a week shy I've got GS to end their season, and make Cascade go Bye-Bye Gibson Southern Gracious Goodfellows: 42 Crass and Crude Cascade Cadets: 28

  5. And that is why I love the NFL more than NFL minor league system called P4 NCAA, any given game in the NFL, all 32 teams have the ability to win. The 53 man rosters of talent dictates this. That cannot be said in a 4 team or 12 team playoff system. I think having multiple losses at the highest level of the game of Football and become a Lombardi Championship hoister is not a negative, however, I understand each folk is different on how they consume the entertainment preferences of American Tackle Football

  6. Happy 58th birthday to the single greatest game-changer I ever saw in college football, “Rocket” Ismail. I will be eternally grateful that I got to see the expression on Bo Schembechler’s face when he ran that second kickoff back against Michigan in 1989. Wish I could find that on video.

  8. LCC would not be bottom 32 if they were back in 1A. Roughly 283 is the current bottom 32, but there's also the issue that there's a tie for two teams at 283 and Faith Christian is tournament eligible this year, so 281 is likely the cutoff for bottom 32. LCC's currently sitting around 302 and younger classes look bigger than older classes, so likely trending upward if that continues. Given that number, there will still be roughly 25 teams ahead of LCC when they return to 1A with regard to enrollment including folks like Carroll, Sheridan, South Adams, LaVille, and South Putnam. Regarding Lutheran, they were always on the bottom half of 1A, including when they were bumped up and had their runs. Lutheran's currently around 267 by last classification from IHSAA. 267 would put them in the bottom 32 of 1A should they return. They would join other lower-32 p/p programs in 1A including Blackhawk Christian, Greenwood Christian Academy, and Bowman which is a charter school. Faith Christian would also likely join that group once they are tournament eligible. In general terms of records, none of those teams was a threat to the sanctity of 1A as a public school haven. Respective records were: Blackhawk Christian -- 0-10, but played a decently solid schedule Greenwood Christian -- 2-8, one win was over Faith Christian Bowman Academy -- 6-5 Faith Christian -- 2-7 Regarding the Pioneer run, in rolling evaluation, Pioneer would have bumped up for 2018 having received a red ring in 2016 and a blue one in 2017. I'd go out on a limb and say that, had Pioneer moved up to 2A in 2018, they would have likely made it to LOS. The reasoning is that they beat Cass 44-0 in the regular season and Cass lost the sectional to Eastbrook by just 2 points. Eastbrook then turned around and handily won the regional against Lapel and then squeaked by Bremen in semi. They eventually lost to WeBo at LOS by a couple of TDs. The Way Back Machine, I mean the GID Predictor, says Pioneer would have been a TD favorite to take 2A state in 2018 if they had been bumped up due to rolling evals.

  9. I sucked too. Pretty rotten year for me this year. @boilerfan87 and @LC_Bears_04 have proven to be the gold standard. I’m just trying to keep up.

  12. I already gave my prediction, why do I have to give it again? Lets roll with.............Carroll wins if they play to their potential. They lose if they have an off night.

  13. I am making the drive and looking forward to a well-played, hard-fought game. No real expectations because of the way this year have gone and where things are now. Many expected Mishawaka and East Noble. Well, they get the 2 teams that beat both of them. The winner goes to Lucas oil.

  16. A slight correction to a stat I gave. I had New Pal passing for 1,734 ypg when that obviously should be on the season. I wish we could make editing changes whenever needed and not within a five minute or so timeframe from when the post was first posted.

  20. Lutheran has always been in the bottom 32. Current enrollment is 278. I believe LCC would also fit into the bottom 32, but will defer to that crowd. I'll concede that neither would belong there. Covenant was near the top of 1A in 2020 when they won, and are currently 2A by enrollment.

  21. This game will be a dog fight. Both defenses are the strengths of both teams. I agree that SJ will need to find a few things on offense but the same can be said for Dwenger. Dwenger has one heck of a kicker, and it may come down to his leg. SJ will find a way to score once and count on their defense to hold Dwenger to a couple field goals. SJ 7-6.

  22. I wouldn't say all positions. Finch at DE and Thomas at RB for Warren I believe are the most talented at those positions...by a longshot. Overall team, I agree with you.

  23. you make some solid points in your last 2 posts. (see, I can agree) The game would take on much more significance if OSU already had a loss during the season. But you are right...a blemish now, unless a blowout, would not drop them out of the top 4. (certainly not out of the playoffs) Indiana on the other hand being a newcomer, does not have OSU's grace. If they are upset by PeeEww, then they would drop certainly out of the top 4 and I believe would be on the road in the playoffs, assuming they remain. Rivalry games used to be awesome at the end of the season...but perhaps it is time to move them earlier in the season, if you really want each team to give out their best. Certainly top teams already in the playoffs.

  25. I've said this many times...1A should be bottom 32, 6A Top 32. Divide the rest evenly. My post above was just about success factor. I wouldn't be opposed to a rolling 3 year cycle instead of 2

  27. That was another error on the part of the IHSAA. It should have been the highest and lowest class with 32 teams. Why on earth they choose to just split the biggest class in two is beyond me. Not sure there was much thought process when that that decision was made.

  28. Are there any P/P's in the bottom 32? I would rather see 1A be the smallest 32, which might take alleviate some of the P/P issue. I feel like during the Lutheran, Providence, and Covenant runs, they were all near the top of 1A by size - which would fit them in 2A with only smallest 32. I'm not sure about LCC, but @foxbat probably knows. Overall I think SF has been positive. But I wonder if the Sheridan/Zachery run or the Pioneer/Kiser Mr. Football in 2018 happen if the current SF was in place.

  29. I don't mind the success factor. But I've been saying for years that it should be a 4-year cycle instead of two. Maybe 9 points to bump up. I'd like to see at least three successful seasons, maybe even four before a program gets the bump. There are SO many teams out there that are successful due to a two year run on talent. Then the less talented kids get bumped up to the higher class. Doesn't make sense. Been saying this since the inception. If the IHSAA would just sit down with me for an hour, I could fix some of their issues.

  31. Game Day Eve. Once again the Flying Jets seem to be the underdogs to the powerful Andrean 59ers. They will be gunning for the Jets this time. It will be tough against those D1 guys but I'm hoping for another upset win for the Jets! Let's hope we can get 2 upsets Friday night! Go Flying Jets! Go Starfires! GO ADAMS COUNTY FOOTBALL!

  32. But look at the losses. Bergen Catholic beats them by one on a blocked punt with less than a minute to go, then to Gorman in Las Vegas and IMG in Florida. So far in three playoff games in Illinois, they have outscored their opponents 165-21. The Flyers always seem to be tough. You might also note a three-loss team in the Top 10, but glance at their schedule.

  34. Intriguing matchup in Class 4A South Semi-State between Heritage Hills, Roncalli By HPG Staff Heritage Hills and Roncalli. Two teams that know a thing or two about having success late in November and advancing to Lucas Oil Stadium. Friday's game will no doubt be one of the best across the Hoosier State, regardless of classification. Heritage Hills enters with a 12-1 record, while Roncalli is 10-3. Roncalli has been playing extremely well as of late, knocking off Yorktown, 31-27, last week in the regional. The win was the sixth in a row for the Royals, who got another solid outing from quarterback Collin Ash. In the game, Ash rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns, while throwing for 218 yards and another score. Alex Jarvis also had a big game for Roncalli, rushing for 201 yards and two touchdowns. As a unit, the Royals rushed for 247 yards and have rushed for over 180 yards in the last six games. On the season, Ash has over 1,700 yards passing and has rushed for almost another 1,000 yards. Zach Dozier and Jarvis have balanced the running attack for the Royals. Heritage Hills, on the other hand, survived a scare from Martinsville, 35-19, thanks in part to the play of senior quarterback and Ole Miss commit Jett Goldsberry, who made another argument for his campaign for Mr. Football. The regional title was the third in a row for the Patriots, who got 184 yards and three touchdowns on 23 touches and 131 yards and a touchdown through the air from Goldsberry, who was hampered by a knee injury sustained in the sectional round of the tournament. With Martinsville blanketing Tyler Ruxer, who has committed to Oklahoma, wide receiver Micah Toler stepped up, catching six passes for 131 yards and a touchdown. As good as the offense was, special teams was just as bad for Heritage Hills. There were three missed point after attempts, as well as an onside kick that was recovered to open the second half. In addition, penalties proved to be costly for the Patriots. Those are things Heritage Hills must clean up if they are going to win on the road Friday night against a very good Roncalli team. Pats coach Todd Wilkerson knows how good Roncalli is, telling HPG this game will come down to which team's defense has a better night. If that is the case, one of the biggest question marks coming in is how will the Roncalli secondary do against Goldsberry. A week ago, Yorktown's Sam Tokar torched Roncalli for 293 yards and three touchdowns through the air. If Goldsberry has time to throw and pick the Roncalli defense apart and if Toler has another big night should the Royals take Ruxer out of the equation, it could be a very long night for the home team. By the same token, can Heritage Hills play assignment defense and limit the running attack Roncalli is sure to bring? This one ought to be a very good one, folks. Prediction: Heritage Hills 28, Roncalli 27

  37. I think you guys ended up having like 400 rushing yards that night, I was pretty amazed when I saw the offensive formations. Your defense was pretty stout too, Memorial couldn’t run the ball at all. But the uniqueness of the offense was pretty impressive because who had the ball in the backfield lol!
