  1. Riprock, Riprock, Riprock 1.2..3... Glad to join the fun and say what STC thinks about IC!!! It wasn't long ago Daddy Gillin was walking those halls recruiting little Braves from schools all around that could throw or catch a ball. Daddy Gillin made the news once or twice, STC is not shocked that little Gilly wasn't far behind! Shame on IC and the good ol' IHSAA, no reason they shouldn't release this kid and let him play. But like before with so many decisions to be made, it just seems like they piss them away!

  4. The only facts that really matter are 1. that an adult was inappropriately texting an underage person in a sexually suggestive way. 2. The school fired this person (thus admitting to the situation). 3. The school administration said “hold my beer” and doubled down on the emotional abuse toward the family by denying the transfer. There is no explanation for them not doing the decent thing and allowing the kid to go. Do they fear this kid in a Greenwood uniform? Will it cause irreparable harm to the IC season by not having this kid on the team? FFS, be a decent human being and let the family make a clean break.

  6. Pretty admirable effort by BD tonight, especially falling down 21-0 in a hurry, got this one completely wrong. Game was a lot closer than the final score indicated.

  7. The IHSAA has a two step process. The first step is a decision as to whether the student has full, limited or no eligibility. That is based on the forms provided by the school to the IHSAA. If the student does not agree with the IHSAA eligibility decision, they can have the initial decision reviewed by the IHSAA Review Committee. If they do not agree with that decision, they can have it review by the DOE Case review Panel. After that they have to file in the court system. This snippet from a Court decision describes the IHSAA internal review process:

  10. Should honestly be a beautiful night of decent matchups. Concord @ Warsaw - should be a telling game for each team. The Minutemen looked good the first quarter last week, but then NorthWood turned it on and never looked back. The Tiger defense has been stout, but they haven't exactly played any offensive powerhouses so far this season. Also, crazy that tonight is the first game at home for Warsaw. I'll take the Tigers by 10 Northridge @ NorthWood - The Raiders lost a tough one last week, and the Panthers are looking like the cream of the crop for both the NLC and 4A North. Northridge has had their number in the postseason each of the last two seasons, but this is a regular season matchup. Panthers by 28 Plymouth @ Wawasee - The last time the Pilgrims won an NLC game was 9/25/2020 against the Warriors. Meanwhile, Wawasee hasn't started 2-0 in NLC play since the 2003 season. Neither team's defense is very good, which could mean a lot points are scored in this game. I will take the home team Wawasee by 6 Goshen @ Mishawaka - not much to say about this game. The Cavemen get two weeks of warm-ups before back-to-back matchups against Warsaw and NorthWood. Staying healthy is the most important goal in this one. Give me Mishawaka by 21

  11. OMG Donnie!!! I have some wild stories from my younger days that involve Zimas and bad (although fun) decisions, but my lips are sealed!! 🤐 🤣 I am back after a week off! Lets just say that a vaca to Cabo left me feeling refreshed and wearing some new tan lines!! 🤗 👙 🔥 I guess I will try to give my best guess for the games this week!!! 😎 Parke Heritage will win against Attica. The Wolfs will feast on Rambler Dan's kidneys, liver, and intestines before they rip his heart out and feed it to their pups!! 🐺 🐺 Fountain Central will win against Covington. In my experience, when a Trojan takes a pounding like Covington did last week, it is sure to break sooner than later!! Look for the Mustangs to make this game au naturale very early!! Have you ever seen a horse up close???? 🐴 🐎 🍆 THE MIGHTY Riverton Parke Panthers will win against Seeger!! My son and his friends say that Seeger is still good like last year, but they are struggling to fill some holes left by graduation! 😻 😻 South Vermillion will win against North Vermillion. According to my son and his friends the Tigers have the best athletes and team in the whole Terre Haute metropolitan area!! 🤯 🐯

  12. I think I've said it about 3 times in this thread - but this really is a problem of their own making by Indian Creek. Release the player/don't protest the transfer - then this article probably never even gets written. OBVIOUSLY we only have one side of the story, but from just that story - it sure does seem petty/vindictive on IC's part to protest the transfer.

  15. This sectional gets more exciting by the week. Right now I have New Haven as a slight favorite over East Noble. Leo is a good football team though, they'll want another crack at the Bulldogs and are more than capable of winning this thing. Dwenger showing signs of life tonight against Carroll. Wayne could make things interesting, but don't see them surviving this. When Snider hit South Side tonight, the Archers hit back. Stay tuned.

  29. I get what you are inferring. Not necessarily though considering they have the ability to overrule IC not signing off on the transfer. Regardless if IC doesn't sign off the IHSAA makes the decision on if the kid is eligible or ineligible so they don't really fall on the sword but jump to wherever they place the sword.

  30. GREAT point...now that I think about it, it does sort of seem like the IHSAA is unfairly falling on the sword here when Indian Creek should be on the witness stand.

  33. Not attacking your specific quote just using it to make a point. I love people continuing to reference Bosse's great offense. Obviously it was way back in week 1 but VL had them all but contained (until they got a running clock and subbed everyone out based on the copy of the film I watched). Bosse was only able to put up 8 points in the half and nothing from that film showed me they would've scored more than 8 more points the rest of the game had VL not pulled their starters. Then, certain people want to come over here into the SIAC thread and say how bad the VL defense is. Sure they probably have areas of weakness and areas they need to improve, all teams do. I just find it ironic. But I guess both can be true. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

  38. No corporation administrator would talk to any reporter. The first thing an administrator would be told by a competent attorney is "do not make any public comments." It isn't rocket science. It has nothing to do with Doyle. The key facts in this case are undisputed: (1) assistant coach texts 15 year student; (2) parents get restraining order; (3) player transfers and wanted to play football his senior season; (4) Indian Creek refused to release player; and (5) IHSAA and CRP inexplicably side with school and screw student. It doesn't matter if Neddenriep wrote the article or Doyle. The point of the article that that once again the IHSAA chooses school over student.

  40. You and I agree on some of your points and disagree on others in regards to Doyel. A few years back, he left sports to talk about a Civil War memorial being moved out of Garfield Park. The memorial was for Confederate dead that lost their lives while in a Union prison camp here in Indy. I am not about arguing for or against the removal. But Doyel jumped in with his policial views and made statements (to include about his own family ancestory) that was flat out generalizing and stereotyping people on one one side of the spectrum that were misguided and in some cases historically incorrect. I know what a columnist is....and I also know that one should attempt to balance their personal views and be largely accurate when they make statements in support of their positions. I have seem him miss that boat time and time again on social media, and he doesn't care....he has a view and others be damned if they don't agree. He's caustic and will argue to win no matter the facts or the costs. I will never buy an edition of the IndyStar while he's employed.

  43. Having been involved in a successful appeal from a negative Case Review Panel decision for a student in Evansville, all I can say is this process is heavily tilted toward affirming whatever the IHSAA decides, and a family that cannot retain a lawyer to file in Court has almost zero chance of success. Like him or not, Gregg Doyle is making heroic effort to eviscerate the dark underbelly of the IHSAA when it comes to seemingly idiotic decisions denying eligibility. BINGO. He was lead counsel in the case I was involved in. He runs circles around the IHSAA's attorney.
