  1. Sunny, 93 & humid down here in SW IN.

  2. Congrats to Charlie Spegal on his 142nd TD tonight, breaking Brett Law’s Career TD record. Another record broken by this kid.

  3. I thought it said KFC. I just figured Rand loved fried chicken.

  4. Swell song by Eddie Rabbitt. Also could be the weather conditions tonight in NWI. To make matters worse, I saw at least 5 lightning strikes as I piloted the Gippermobile from Q (great BBQ) south to Casa de Gipper. Stay safe out there tonight, fellow Rats.

  5. @Fkfootball safe travels if you come up tonight. Get off at Seymour and get on 31 North if you can.. taking 65 from Seymour to Columbus is an absolute death trap.

  6. I’d bet my salary tanka has no connection to PH and hasn’t been to a game.

  9. Coffin, I am not going anywhere. KFI does not run, KFI does not hide! Just get ready when Coach Rand brings the troops into Trojan Land and shocks the world. You have noticed this week, more than most, those Trojan fans have been laying low. They will never admit it, but they know deep down what is coming. When you go position by position we win every one. We are both 2 platoon systems, our kids wont be tired. Our offense is more potent and our 11 Dawgs have been waiting to eat since last Friday, so they are hungry. I know I speak for only a few, but after the Knights take care of the Trojans, KFI is stopping at Connies to meet STC to have a few.

  10. KFI...now I'm super confused..... What is Interinty? Must be contagious?

  11. I think the Miners will begin to pull away with their first offensive possession. Look for running clock in second half.

  12. Agreed on the first point. North white was originally picked up when west central left the conference. If I’m not mistaken it was only a 2 year contract so the contract just wasn’t renewed with nw.

  13. Right on cue. No talk of jet sweeps, safety blitzes, even fumblerooskis or any other type of gadget play. Got a cool nickname? Let’s hear it! What did you think of the Packers-Eagles game last night? I think the refs were next-level bad, but that’s just me. Any insight for any games tonight? I like Lowell over Highland, South Newton or Covington, and Zionsville to come out victorious (but forget their opponent). That's my contribution to this forum, have a good day. It is? Hadn’t noticed😁

  14. You! You picked them as your dark horse in the conference, which indicates they would win more games this year than last year.

  16. No, when it wanders into the weeds of 2A, it's time to move one. Pretty much all of these threads go down the same path: 1.DT wants less football playing schools. Gee this is a high school football forum, I wonder how that will be perceived? 2. Muda doesn't want government schools. Gee this a high school football forum, I wonder that will be perceived? 3. Virtually everyone else wondering why you two post on a high school football forum. This thread has run it's course. It's game day, lets move on. Everyone needs to make sure they're drinking plenty of water today, it's going to be a hot one tonight.

  17. Two years ago they were 7-3 and the year before that 7-3. Shelbyville has been a good competitive team over the years. This has became an issue the last two years. The reason behind the recent drop can maybe be answered by a Shelbyville person

  20. "many" lol... can you judge "many"?... how do you measure many? I've never had a player tell me they regretted playing football. I've had multiple people come up to me and tell me they regret NOT playing. Our numbers on our team are up, and have been the last four years. This is the first year in like the last ten years that the total number of football players has regressed from the year before (nationally speaking). The number is still higher than any year in the 90s.

  22. I know you were kidding but... IMO a muddy field favors a passing team. The ball wont be wet, the receivers know where they are going, and it’s harder for DL to get a take off for a pass rush. Raining and windy would favor a running team.

  23. I believe WL and Chatard are interchangeable - either could be 1 or 2 at this time. As the season progresses, we will get more of a feel, but ultimately we will find out in sectionals. Fun to talk about now though isn't it?

  24. North White was dropped prior to the season starting. Attucks was the only team in the state with an opening that week. Other conversations were had with others schools but they didn't want the pain of changing their schedules as well.

  27. If that was true I am sure coach Wilkerson would love to move the game to Gibson county considering his history against the Titans at home.

  28. BREAKING NEWS - The football field was broken into last night and the sprinklers were left on all night. What a shame. The field was looking good! Mud Bowl will be fun to watch tonight! GO PATRIOTS! (Jk folks)

  29. Obviously reading comprehension is not your strong suit. I will try to explain this to you one last time. The entire point I am trying to make is that it doesn't matter how many yards you give up if you are not giving up TDs. I wasn't comparing last years TDs to this years TDs. You took it upon yourself to do that in order to try and spin this. Also, while we are at it, the 2 "TD passes" you are crediting Knox for were actually PATs. You might want to look stuff up yourself. Again, I never said anything about PATs. I hope your team does well. I obviously know coaches on both teams and don't really care who wins. So go ahead and spin this however you want to make yourself look better, I'm done commenting on this.

  32. There are definitely good athletes at Avon that have chosen for whatever reason not to continue to play football after rec league, Jr Orioles, middle school, freshman football, whatever experience they may have had as a younger kid. Many of them do participate in other sports, and have dedicated themselves to that particular sport, since it is a large school and it takes darned near a full time commitment to play varsity in a sport at a 6A school. There are several Avon kids also playing at different schools (I can off hand name kids at Danville, Plainfield, Covenant Christian, Ritter, and Cathedral), so we get some attrition that way as well. (And that works both ways, I can also name multiple Plainfield kids playing football and other sports at Avon). Point being, you are correct, I could easily point out 20-25 kids at Avon HS that would be assets to the football program had they continued playing.

  33. I don't thing Michigan City has them yet. We have a guy here named Warren Foster that has been doing chain gang duties along with his family for 55 years. https://www.thenewsdispatch.com/sports/article_13cd681a-9876-5284-9950-62934522ded2.html

  35. While I can’t disagree Culver’s secondary has struggled, they have shown big improvement in the Knox and Triton games. Hopefully your criticism is just the chalkboard material they need to keep improving down the stretch

  37. Steve ... What's he up to now? Coaching? Selling end-zone cameras? @DK_Barons and @77Jimmie got us out of his attempted hijack of the forum from TA around 2004 or 2005. Still thankful that @Mrs Gridirondigest is keeping her vigilant eyes on all of us!

  39. Blackford @ MG Eastbrook @ Frankton Elwood @ Alex Ole Miss @ OH Let's be honest, none of these games will be close. I think Oak Hill will show the most fight because they have a coaching staff that sets that expectation. My question is how many of the other 3 will go down swinging and how many of them will have "Pride" injuries hanging out on the sideline eating Dippin Dots? Come on Under Dogs let's see some hay makers!!!! Let's see if the CIC can avoid the Mercy Rule in all 4 games. Even this Bitter Ole Gym Teacher has hope. AHHHHH Screw it, NO I DON'T!

  41. Do you ever quit talking about who is not on your team, or who moved, or who is injured? Why don't you just talk about the players that are playing? All teams have guys that are hurt or have moved away. You don't hear everyone on here whining about what could of been for their teams. Move on! And you wonder why people give you a hard time on here!

  42. BTW, sports fans, South Newton happens to field a middle school team (2 or 3 probably), so there’s interest. As I have said countless times before, athletics there are very cyclical. I’m sure no one thought they should give up when Eric Watt led the mighty Rebels to the Semi-State not too long ago...

  43. I like the old MWC, but I'm glad that Pioneer got out of it when they did. Their schedule this year, if still in the old MWC, would probably be the worst in the state. It would have included Caston, North White, South Newton, Tri-County, and West Central, all programs that are extremely down this season. Pioneer would win all of these games by 60+.

  44. Look, if you're going to post a thread, no matter how right, or in this case wrong you might be, at least make sure your potential title games could actually happen.
