Imagine if you @DT were not seen as the thin skinned one, and rather, all of the people whose feelings get hurt just read your commentary for what it is. I do not agree with a lot of what you post, but that is actually a good thing. We need more positive disagreements in our society, rather than the, "You are wrong, you suck, so shut up and go away!" mentality that has infiltrated so many areas of our lives. Imagine where our game would be today if there were never any dissenters and everyone was ok with just going with the flow. Kuddos to you and your unpopular opinions Mr. @DT!6 points

We appreciate the opportunity for sure. This might be recent memory bias, but I think your NK team hit harder than we've seen all season. Hats to the ball all night, and hard. Definitely some very good linebacker scraping that nipped what would have normally been big gains for our QB. Kept our running game in check for sure. Good blocking on your O side of the ball, too. Well disciplined and well executed on assignments... they all knew what their job was and they did it well. And I loved that horn on TDs! That must really get the crowd fired up on Friday nights. Pretty cool venue on the hillside there too. Good luck to your varsity the rest of the way!2 points

I certainly understand that point of view. But in my opinion, there is far too much thinking like that controlling how things work in Indiana high school sports. Your point of view is centered on what’s best for your particular school, because that’s the only way North Judson could ever have one of those games. If everyone is thinking that way, who is looking out for the big picture, the overall good for high school football in Indiana? Not enough people, and not the right people, in my opinion. Sure, the IHSAA makes policy. But in the end, it is just an instrument of the membership, most of whom probably feel like you do. It stifles progress.2 points

3.) I'm biased, but Westfield's 43-42 OT win at Brownsburg was one of the best high school games that I've seen. It was like two heavyweights pounding on each other.2 points

I never used the word victim, as he is not a victim. However, it seems that as time passes, people whose opinions do not fit the narrative of the masses are not engaged with in discussion. Rather, they are attacked for being a dissenter. Do you want me to apologize for feeling different? I like that he posts things that drive discussion. I wish that I had more time to engage in banter about these topics, but I do not. I just enjoy reading his take, but honestly when all of the responses are that you suck, you are wrong, or OMG, I cannot believe that you think that, it gets really boring.2 points

Not sure how other conference schedules work, but in the CIC it rotates every 2 years. For example, Eastbrook played M-G first the last 2 seasons, so this season everyone shifts up a spot and M-G drops to last on the schedule this year. Yes, this season is top heavy, mainly because we seek out competition to start the season and not cream puffs for any easy win, but also how the rotating schedule lined up. Also, I believe with a win over M-G Friday we will be the first ever Grant-5 champs in football.2 points

The question was so simple - can seniors play JV? Yes, they can. Oh how it turns because someone stirs the pot. I'll ask another simple question? Is it not up to the coach if he wants to allow this or not? Four pages of this. I need to find a better hobby!2 points

The return to play rule requires 4 or 6 practices to be completed prior to return to play depending if U missed > than 5 or 10 straight practices. The purpose is to protect players who have been INJURED or are SICK from returning too quickly. Quarantine is neither. All the IHSAA had to do was to allow virtual practices to count. A player under 14 day Quarantine could attend 2 virtual practices with a coach or trainer while under quarantine and save games for players across the state. Easy, sensible approach to our new environment. Superintendents have reached out to IHSAA for leniency / virtual practices and we’re shot down. IHSAA got 90% of this season right... wish they would’ve hit a home run and addressed this gap by amending the rtp rule.1 point

I'd prefer to have a couple more competitive games mixed into the last part of the season but it is what it is at this point. It worries me a little bit more this year with how strong our Sectional is. I think Tipton and maybe Eastern would be as strong as anyone we could see in Regionals. When it's been a while since you've been challenged it's hard to judge how a 16-17 year old kid is going to react when the game becomes a war. On the flip side though we should be healthy and gives us a chance to rest some of those nagging injuries that a kid might normally play through if the end of the season was more challenging. As far as how we stack up against last year I'd say we're just as good if not slightly better than last year talent wise. The Seniors and Juniors have a lot of big game experience. We are mostly a Junior dominated team but those Juniors played very big roles last year as Sophomores in what was suppose to be a rebuilding year. Once the ball is kicked off though the scoreboard doesn't care what you've done in the past. This Sectional is going to have some very good games to watch.1 point

Ummmm ... should I tell him that I didn't have any picks last week? 😃 Reminds me of that old joke about the Cleveland Browns. The Browns had just received the kickoff after their opponent's had scored. The refs blew the whistle for the two-minute warning and, inadvertently, their opponents mistook the whistle for the end of game whistle and ran into the locker room. Three plays later, the Browns scored.1 point

I agree wholeheartedly. And I think the fanbase at Fishers and HSE will demand a better football program. It's started at HSE and Fishers has a recent state title. Zionsville is also a program that could see a slow rise to prominence.1 point

I stand by my statement. Lol. In all seriousness, that spreadsheet could be a nice table with school logos using tables in a text editor like Word (can be exported as a PDF and turned into an image file).1 point

In the example, North Judson would have played LCC at Logansport. It’s a nice field don’t get me wrong, but it ain’t the Brickie Bowl. The facility at North Judson is significantly bigger with more space for additional seating. The home and away stands are just as big. When Judson hosts a regional they typically bring in additional stands for the endzones Also, to drive to Logansport on a bus isn’t that much shorter of a distance than to just drive to Lafayette. I would know I drive it all the time. Hosting a regional or semi state also means an influx of revenue for your town for that evening. Fast food, restaurants and bars all see the windfall of additional people in town for a few hours. All that revenue should go to a bigger town and not help either school? I might be a homer, but from an economic standpoint it’s a terrible idea. Why should some other town receive the benefits of the success of some school 45 minutes away?1 point

Thanks for having us....crazy year, we have lost a freshman to varsity and we had our #1 o-lineman contact traced out for this game. I personally coached these kids from 4th through 8th grade. They have a great work ethic as a group.1 point

Won't be at the game this weekend. I'll be at Twin Lakes Vs Cass. Not sure what to expect from Winamac/Triton Triton played Knox super tough even though Knox didn't have Zac Rose, both Lovins and Wagner. Winamac just has to stay healthy, finish drives, limit penalities and turnovers.. They do that. I think they'll win If I was RR.. any meaningful skilled guy wouldn't play Friday. Knox should cruise . North Judson will play PHS tough for a bit but Panthers just too much. LaVille beats Culver.1 point

I think you hit on it right there, Fan Man; To the IHSAA, I would guess that National recognition is not only not the ultimate goal, but its a goal they discourage. The IHSAA does not want to 'keep up with AAU and Club Sports programs'. They want the Indiana state championship to be the ultimate goal. They don't want ANYTHING to overshadow or diminish that.1 point

What do you do with the 12th grade student, probably a so-so athlete at best, who decides to play football for the first time? This may even be the first time this young man has decided to try extracurricular athletics. Is he quietly persuaded to quit the team during summer workouts and practices? Does he ride the pine on the varsity squad for the entire season? Or is he allowed to play in junior varsity games?1 point

The decision whether to devote resources to provide those sorts of experiences for student athletes should be made at the local level, not in Indianapolis.1 point

One of the seniors that graduated in 2018 rode his bike 6 miles one way to practice every single day during the summer his jr and sr year, never missed a single summer practice or weight lifting session while working his jr and senior year. He bought his own vehicle...paid for his cell phone, insurance and gas...had an absolutely terrible home life, his father is currently in michigan city, living there not because he wants to...if you catch my drift. He was a manager in basketball and played JV baseball too. He rarely played. He's a character kid... The sports teams have him a sense of family that he was missing. The boy that joined the military played JV as a jr and a sr. He started the two sectional games winamac had that year due to injury. Him and the kid above coming out their senior year ALLOWED winamac to have a junior varsity team.. so honestly their selflessness allowed underclassmen to get reps. He also got accepted into purdue, ball state and so on. He chose to join the military cause that was his dream due to having other relatives In it + the free college. The 3rd kid never missed a single morning basketball work out or practice in his 4 years, is an outstanding young man. He came out his senior year to help with numbers and helped winamac have atleast 2 jv games last year. This website is to promote high school kids. You routinely do not .. your dumb contraction posts, you insulting kids by saying they have no pride. You are a grown a** man. Do you not have any pride in yourself? Cause if you did. You wouldn't spend 75 percent of the time insulting kids on here.1 point
