  1. Four pages of this crap and you single out Temptation? What am I missing here? Keep up the good work DT. You provide 50% of the (good) content on this forum.

  2. The obvious bias toward large schools and Indy area schools. The unfair advantage of P/Ps. How many of the coaches get free & reduced lunches. I'm sure there's more.

  3. So basically, win state and win your class's coach of the year. Seems pretty simple. Am I missing anything?

  6. If it doesn't happen or isn't seen at Cathedral its not reality. Every player in the state of Indiana comes from a stable, two-parent household family earning six figures and if they lose to Cathedral, they just need to "get better." Also, Cathedral plays teams 2-3 times its size in enrollment and wins state championships, so everybody should be able to do it. Any suggestion otherwise is a false narrative.

  7. Both Rory Heltsley and Cade Virgin of Gibson Southern have elected to pass on the FCS/D1 offers and team up at UIndy. HUGE get for the greyhounds and congrats to these two young men.

  8. Changed the title to other stuff, because there are some really cool things that happen from time to time. Last night, Marc Andre Fleury recorded his 500th win as a goaltender. There are only two other goaltenders in the history of the game to reach this milestone; Patrick Wah ( 🙂 Roy) and Richard Brodeur......funny that all 3 are French Canadians. What makes this moment cool is that it was in Montreal. While I am a Habs hater.... @Yuccaguy understands that too 🙂 , I can respect the fans in this moment. I can say, their fans know the game well, and understand moments like this. The video does not show it, but a few Habs players stayed on the ice to honor the moment as well. And as the clock ran out Matthew Perrault flipped the puck to the Hawks bench to be saved.

  9. Both went out and scheduled a solid non conference game (though Cincinnati’s was on the road and Georgia’s was at a neutral site). Obviously Georgia’s body of work was more impressive but Cincinnati has the better win. Even though they won’t admit it, the committee didn’t want a rematch in the semifinal because I think Michigan nearly quadrupling the spread and still getting leapfrogged by a Bama team that everyone left for dead last week is more egregious than Georgia over Cincinnati.

  10. Teaching plays a huge part in the process. It is much harder in a small school setting to provide job availability especially early in the second semester. I was hired at NK Mid April. I felt like I was way behind from a football standpoint. The difference with my situation would be I was already a teacher in the building and had been a defensive coordinator on the team so i had already had an opportunity to work with our kids. Also factored in would be i took over for a coach that was retiring rather than one that had been fired.

  12. The hard part is the teaching scenarios that go with the coaching openings. Some schools cant move on their coaching search until they know what teaching openings they are going to have for the coming year. As far as when is too late, I think once you get into April, due to summer planning and offseason program lost time, thats the absolute latest most coaches would be interested. Ideally, most coaches would like to be in place by early second semester to get their offseason rolling and start building those relationships with the kids. Especially now that Indiana allows spring ball during limited contact periods. With the new spring rules, you can have a foundation started prior to summer which is huge for new coaches.

  13. One thing that hasn't been discussed is the environment and culture of school administration when it comes to competing. All schools want to win, but some won't pursue the resources needed to win. Many adults don't wish to put the time and effort into what is needed to win. They love have the shirt on Friday, but not willing to put in the effort the other days of the week. Many kids have other things in their lives competing with football. Many do not want to "waste" their time not being properly prepared for the games. You can't fool kids, and many of them leave.

  15. Perhaps the IHSAA should allow schools to petition DOWN a class? At least for a cycle. I think of schools like Crawford County (0 - 12 or 13) and Pike Central (1 for 35?) who have had no postseason success. Crawford has now dropped to 2A but were 3A for awhile and has never won a postseason game in its history. Pike has been solidly 3A but only once in the early 2000's have won a single 3A tournament game. They both field teams in the 20-30 player range. I'm not going to agree to a forced minimum standard to play varsity football. That is a local decision.

  18. All packers fans know Nagy/Pace suck….but will contend they are great in public and hope that the bears decide to keep them both 🤣 it would go a long way for the bears if they sold to new ownership. That old lady just wants $$$ and to sell seats with minimal investment. Bears need an entire gut job and redo…the Arlington site acquisition should go a little ways to make it more enticing for a new owner. new owner could get their gm/Entire coaching staff and have a new stadium. Good for a fresh rebrand. I may hate the bears but I do love it when the packers beat the bears when the bears are a good contending team. Makes those games that much more special

  20. I hear where you are coming from, but the SEC East this year was not the SEC West...but a long shot. While Arkansas improved, they are not among the SEC elite and Auburn was also down. Florida was a trash can fire...and it cost their coach his job. Clemson was way down. So I think GA got some blessings playing a weaker than normal SEC schedule. You have to have QB play to win, and I am not sold on the GA QB. (in fairness not sold on the Michigan QB) Should be a game that features defense, and it will be interesting to see the impact of the Dogs speed vs Michigan. I think the Dogs can win and I agree after their butt spanking in the SEC conference title game, they have much to prove.

  21. Wow, somebody struck a nerve.................. Quality over quantity, every time. Unfortunately the P/P zealots on this forum don't see it that way. They want their continued string of patsies, especially during tournament time, to beat up on in order to cement their hegemony.

  22. Yeah, what's even richer is that three of the five kids of this "LCC poster" have graduated or are about to graduate from Jeff, one is Harrison, and the fifth will be Harrison ... but let's not let the facts get in the way in our perception of ideas, right?

  23. Why so confident in Georgia? Who’d they beat? Kentucky is their best win and they were elevated to an elite pedestal for holding what turned out to be an overrated Clemson squad to 3 points. Look, I’m not saying Michigan will win as the Big Ten’s performance in the playoff is well stated but I give the Wolverines one hell of a shot.

  26. I’ve been saying it for a bit now that he should be fired the Tarik contract was extra bad cuz they refused to sign ARob to extension and cited “we don’t do contracts in season” and forced him into the tag then a few weeks later they extend cohen ARob has had his career wasted because nfl teams basically have owned him this entire time with his rookie deal+ the franchise tags. one of the best WRs and his best QB was probably Blake Bortles when the jags were good for a year

  27. Jake Pasch is a very good football player (Offensively and Defensively). I don't feel he would have a problem covering 5A/6A receivers (a lot of these teams compete in 7 on 7 match-ups through the summer). He wasn't one of those that chose to be a big fish in a small pond. He was going to play for Lutheran regardless because his father is the Head Football Coach at Lutheran.

  29. Are you guys arguing there is no drop in participation numbers or you just don't like the reasons given? I don't have numbers to back it, but it seems like the number of schools with frosh and/or JV teams is lowering every year. A one or two year low trend can be overcome, but all of a sudden a kid doesnt have a chance to pay in games from his 8th grade year until maybe junior year, the participation levels will only worsen. Goshen and Plymouth are great examples of the current situation in a number of districts.

  31. I stand by my observation that single school counties - like Connersville, Rushville, Franklin Co., as well as Jennings, Pike Central, Benton Central, Jay County - generally struggle to build football success. The geographic size puts them in a class 1 or 2 levels above their "true" football playing level based on the economic realities of a mainly rural county.

  33. Tell us what you know @DanteEstonia. Educate us. You've got nothing. While I'm at it, @gonzoron I'm still waiting for you to back up your claim that it was more than one kid. If you are simply saying that because there were other kids on the bus then say that. Your comment reads like there were other kids who painted their faces black. There wasn't and you know it. Your moral turpitude leads you to come here and trash a community and a football program because they are better than you are or ever were. Get over yourself. This thread has no business on this forum. I thought GID was better than this.
