As someone whom went through the NorthWood program...raised a child through the NorthWood program and is now a fan of the NorthWood program...I have never seen a comment such as BDOOM's from a NorthWood supporter...or really from anyone in the last 24ish years on the GID. Don't throw all of us in the basket with that fella.

Just offering friendly advice to the good people from North Decatur. Forgot to add: If you do get your car towed for a broken taillight, remember to pay the impound fee in cash (small bills) to make it easier for the lot owner to split the fee with the officer who wrote the ticket.

3 teams in the regional championship this week. Maybe LaVille and Knox didn't "need" the bigger conference to get them places. LaVille and Knox taking on teams from the Hoosier Conference. Judson has a rematch with a private school in Indy. All 3 schools have winnable games but all 3 will have to play their best possible game and grind them out.

Well this thread turned quite quickly....everyone on the GID knows that kids will be kids. I can guarantee every team in the State of Indiana...and the country...has kids that do things they probably shouldn't. In the age of social media...its just seen in the public eye. I don't know anyone personally on this thread, but I can speculate each one of you played football or some other sport in your youth. And I can almost gaurantee each one of you did something in high school that would be looked down on in the sporting world. We can all agree that Friday's game was a good one. Someday maybe NorthWood and Northridge will face one another will all of their players available. Hats off to a great season for Northridge and they...like NorthWood did last year...can use this as a learning experiance for their younger guys. Thoughts on the game: NorthWood needs to get their emotions under control. They need to just play football and leave the "stuff" on the sidelines. I was suprised at how well they ran the ball against a good Northridge defense. That is an aspect of the game they needed to improve on. I was also suprised on Northridge's use...or lack there of...of their timeouts on the last drive. It will be interesting to see how NW will handle New Prairie's offense. Turnovers killed Northridge in the first half. Had they had better ball control, i feel like they would have won this game. The young quarterback needs to learn from this game and I think he will be fine going forward as their starter next year with a great running back returning as well. Again...all and all...a good season for Northridge. Congrats to NW for a hard fought win and the sectional "monkey" off of their back. It should make for a great game next week against New Prairie. Side note: Northridge...bravo on your uniforms...probably my favorite of all the NLC teams. Mishawaka played an interesting game against Concord. I didn't see the game however was told that the sickness bug is running through the entire program. I hope they get better as they have a tough task next week against a great Snider team. Hopefully playing at home will give them an edge. Concord.... Maybe a bit of a disappointed season, however I think they will be in the thick of things next year in the NLC race. OFF to the regionals!!!

Bremen has a QB that threw for over 2k and had one receiver at 700+ and another over 1200 but not sure their skilled guys as a whole are as good as CC's. Glenn also had a capable QB and some skilled guys he could throw too but again not sure if they stack up VS LCC. Scott Ballentine had 124 yards Passing against LaVille, the 2nd lowest total he had this year. So LaVille has faced 3 teams with throwing QBS and went 4-0 against them but one thing LCC has in spades is skilled guys that are very athletic. Should be a dandy.

So you were on the field and heard that being said? Didn't think so. But congrats on the win. I'm not blaming anyone but Northridge for the loss, they should've done better. However people need to see the tactics used and can form their own opinions on the matter. Not one time did you deny that the video was turned in 4+ months after someone from Northwood obtained it and held on to it to only release it on the Thursday before sectional championship. The picture posted was from a public social media page, and trust me, there are far worse where that came from.

GS could easily volunteer to move to 4A or 5A or even 6A. But I bet they won't.

Good point, but you can argue it's easier for good teams to go home early in the four team sectional. Carroll is likely remain ascendant. It's probably true that with steady leadership that Crown Point is ascendant as well. That's true. I think some forget the many years in the Geesman era where Penn didn't get out of the sectional or win the regional, but I agree that you can't call Penn the future based on a sectional championship. There is a lot to unpack here. In a sense you're right, Penn has experienced more fluctuation under Yeoman, although it might look more that way because 2019-2021 were bad teams, and not just by Penn standards. I think the elephant in the room is Penn had to replace a number of hall of fame/great coaches at the end of the Geesman era and over the course of Cory's time as head coach. Already some of those replacements--good coaches in their own right--have had to be replaced over the past five to ten years. But it's also true that Penn has played and continues to play more games against better competition under Yeoman than they ever did under Geesman--out of necessity, if nothing else. One negative that has come with that is there are more instances where they've been shown up. The field was just so much more limited during Geesman's time. And still, as I mentioned it above, there were plenty of years when Geesman's teams couldn't get out the sectional or win the regional--as I'm sure you're aware of being a Fort Wayne guy. To your point, Penn could certainly be out in the first round next year even if they somehow win a state championship this year, but that seems more like a function of the sectionals getting more competitive, generally, with the field cut in half.

Even P&Ps have down years when in the correct class. They would prefer to have zero down years in the incorrect class.

Correct - it was 7-3 at halftime. Sorry for the confusion. I started writing parts of my post and got sidetracked and then went down another path and came back to it. Here's an edited, corrected version of my post. Exactly the #1 concern when running "Bart Ball" is what happened in the 3rd quarter of the game. This was a 7-3 game at halftime, and Warsaw had a chance to make it 7-6 or even take a 13-7 lead going into halftime with a 1st and 10 at the Penn 43 yard line, but a 15-yard penalty on their final drive of the 2nd quarter thwarted that opportunity. The start of the 3rd quarter, the compounding issues escalated things quickly. Kingsmen oppend the 2nd half with an impressive 80 yard drive that ended in a touchdown to take a 14-3 lead. Then, later the quarter, one of the strangest touchdowns of all time. Penn punted the ball (Warsaw never touched it) and the ball never made it to the line of scrimmage. A Penn player then picked up the ball and ran it all the way into the endzone for a touchdown to make it 21-3. Apparently, a punt is a live ball for EITHER team if it doesn't get back to the line of scrimmage. Ruling was correct, just not something you see that often. After that, it was all but over. Being forced the throw the ball, an extremely unfortunate pick-6 on Warsaw's next drive all but sealed the door shut with Penn leading 28-3. I'm not going to sit here and act like a 31-10 game was "close". However, it wasn't as bad as the final score indicated in my opinion.

Interesting note, ec loves beating up teams with half their enrollment!! In this case more than half!! Just ask most of their conference teams. Looks to me like memorial gets their turn to get a Bully beatdown on friday!! But if they pull it off and beat ec, then that would be real impressive!! Good luck!

Never been able to get straight to Cicero. Every summer that the boys have tournaments in Cicero, it's like some supernatural force that reroutes the entire state away from straight shots there. I've not had an issue passing through Sheridan. Of course, I do keep all of my LCC gear in the trunk just to be safe when I pass through on the way to Grand Park.

After you posted, I logged in and saw the thread. I disagree with the premise. The HCC is the best high school conference in Indiana, top to bottom. If BD doesn't make that comeback, things look markedly different for the MIC.

Penn is still a solid program, they just haven't won state in awhile. When Geesman was at the helm, they reloaded every year bar none and were considered Top 4 in the state regardless of class. With Yoeman, they're more like a yoyo. Top 25 seems to be the new bar. If Penn wins state this year, there's no reason to believe they'll get out of sectional next season. It just seems like that lately for the Kingsmen. Seeing what CP's new coaching staff has done in a short period of time, I'm already sold that they're a player for years to come. Don't sleep on Dinan and Carroll, I saw how good they were in person. Warsaw clearly wanted it more than they did.

I think there’s a fair amount of football knowledge in this thread, particularly southern Indiana HS football knowledge. At least in n my case, hell a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

The realization on Saturday that IF IU were to win their next three games they would be bowl eligible made me think of this line.

its a win over a 1-6 team coming in....but concerning the Colts best offense was Kenny Moore on D.

From past experience, I hated playing games at UIndy…..nothing against the school, but the college uprights and hashmarks could make a difference, especially with a team maybe needing a FG to tie or win. I have not been there in a long time but does UIndy still have really small visitors’ bleachers? The 07 Semi State game there was a nightmare because of that; for a number of reasons.

With regional and semi state coming, could Providence or North Decatur beat Lutheran or still just the Lutheran show? With North Decatur win last night, i dont think Sheridan will be much of a game
