Good luck to everyone tomorrow in your respected scrimmages. Hope everyone can stay healthy and injury free heading into next week. Let's have another great season in the HNAC!2 points

This is the day we've been looking forward to. The regular season doesn't begin until next week but we get to hear the pads crack tonight with the scrimmages. I'll be at Tech to watch Cathedral vs. Avon.1 point

Deontae Craig of Culver Military has chosen to play at Iowa. He had offers from ND, The Ohio State, Tennessee, Mich St, Northwestern, Indiana and several other D1 schools. Congrats to this young man. https://culverathletics.com/news/2019/8/16/varsity-football-deontae-verbal-annoucement-draft.aspx1 point

Bosse always has athletes, if they could ever get the numbers to come out that probably would be the biggest boost for them to move up the ladder.1 point

I was curious about that match-up. I thought South dropped LC from these scrimmages because they ran an offense that South didn't see in the regular season. I don't know if you know, but has LC changed their offense from previous years? I had to laugh, but the last time I used Larry Central on this forum, I got a lot of backlash from LC fans over using it, even though that's been going on for years, and dates as far back as when Mark Patrick was the sports director for Channel 8.1 point

Typically I would agree with that. But if the big school isn't dominating everything and the small school isn't losing miserably at everything, I don't see a need for a shake up. I feel across the board It is a fairly level playing field and a very competitive conference. Everybody just loves to have a knee jerk reaction when A sport leans one way or another.1 point

What a great way to honor our military and to honor your falling alumni. Rensselaer, you should be commended for what you're doing. This makes the rivalry game with KV have that much more meaning with Jasper county's military included. I'm not sure why every Indiana High School isn't doing something like this, because every school has alumni that are serving, have served, or will be serving in the near future.1 point

Goal is not to compete with Coach Lovell and his radio show. He obviously does a fantastic job. Just another venue for high school sports fans to hear from coaches throughout the state to talk football. The show will be on Facebook Live and also on Twitter so you can listen to it from any device at home or elsewhere. It will be audio only for now.1 point

I don't think either of these teams will need board materials when they face each other this year. Should be two pretty good teams by week six. I am leaning towards whichever team scores the most points should win.........1 point

Going to Floyd Central vs Charlestown. Should be good. Two good teams. Charlestowns QB/RB is an Eastern Kentucky commit.1 point

Any idea who is scrimmaging who? I know Warsaw is at Leo tonight. Also - side note - Warsaw senior kicker Harrison Mevis recently picked up a scholarship offer from Washington State!1 point

Three consecutive Freshmen undefeated seasons against a pretty tough schedule says otherwise. We'll know more after tonight though.1 point

I'm still here! I'll know more about Cathedral after the scrimmage against Avon tonight.1 point

In no way should we be ranked in a class in which we've achieved nothing, but when you look at some of the schools who did receive votes, you'd think after a State Championship and semi-state appearance it'd would get us some appreciation - but guess not. Back to the grind1 point

Thank you. I appreciate that. I definitely did not mean to imply anybody was chirping. Dwenger is confident they will compete in 5A. Good for them. That's what this season is all about. I knew last year after week 2 that NP was very, very good. Definitely lost some great seniors and leadership. That team was also blessed with very few injuries. Not sure if this team is in their class yet. The QB last year was one of the toughest runners I've ever seen. Well maybe since his brother. That will be missed.1 point

This was the consensus reached in the state observers meeting last Saturday, and ordered implemented by Asst. Commissioner Robert Faulkens, who presided over the meeting.1 point

Not sure how close you are to the program, but the sophomore class is loaded and they will get plenty of playing time this season at OL, WR, LB and a TE that's a freshman. They get through the regular season with minimal injuries and they will have plenty of depth and experience come tournament time with the young men and that schedule. Getting closer to the season I believe the OL has shifted from starting 3 sophomores to 4 seniors and 1 sophomore due to a summer transfer.1 point

Thing about Pioneer is, yes Jack Kiser was 4 star ND recruit and very good football player across all metrics and all classes of football. Hence Mr. Football (please do not spark that debate again), HOWEVER, Pioneer is truly a system program, plug and chug system that is so well established that they will not miss a beat. I have said this before, Pioneer may have to win 28-14, or 21-7 at times this year, instead of it being 49-0 at half. AND THAT IS OK TOO!!! They have some speed in the backfield and plenty of other pieces, they are NOT going anywhere1 point

Oh ...they dominated us! Just wondered how they would have saw it...no implications here.1 point

That's what I'm saying! How quickly we forget. This Valpo team lost in the 6A Semistate by four points. The defensive line, anchored by two standout juniors, is going to be a problem for a lot of offensive fronts. If Valpo's offense can produce, they've got just as good of a shot as anybody - not just this season, but next year as well.1 point

IMO, Valpo’s move to 5A makes them an immediate contender to rep the the North. They are going to have some very large and disruptive lines on both sides of the ball.1 point
-
Maybe they will, but that just might fall under the "careful what you wish for" category. 😉1 point

Just me but I'll never understand the fascination with H.S. poll. Of course it's great for a school to get recognized but it does nothing for you when it counts. Tournament time.1 point

Andrew Luck's "Small Little Bone" Injury Is Apparently On The Move: https://deadspin.com/andrew-lucks-small-little-bone-injury-is-apparently-o-1837222894 This injury story is looking like it's going to spiral out of control, much like Mr. Luck's serious shoulder injury did.-1 points

I'm pretty sure Night Hawk, aka BARRYOSAMA has met or beaten that regarding my posts. Almost daily he habitually downvotes virtually everything I post. Quite funny.-1 points
