By my count there were over 100 Indiana Hs football games that took place last night not counting the the 4 that will occur sat night. That’s over 200 teams participating. Thousands of families in the stands. Passionate families from what I saw last night. Thousands of memories. Some good... Some tears. That’s what it’s all about.

I believe that the folks at Attica made decision that was best for them this week, so they played, they won, I am not one to judge those decisions. I believe the tournament provides the thought process of, even with 11 or 12 or 13 or 88, if we are going to go down, lets go down on the field if we are allowed to be.

Sad post 11 is the number To my knowledge there is not any minimum other than 11. HOWEVER, Coaches/Admins may feel that there is a number that they need to be comfortable with. NOW: I just do not see why there are folks on here who want to try to diminish anyone at Attica with this conjecture on reasons why some teams played each week and didn't. WE all understand what a unknown this season was from the get go. To echo @Lysander's earlier comments, this is not the same Chatard team as last year's team. I think they are more than capable of making another run, but there are a number of really good 3A teams with the talent to beat them. Beating an improving Guerin and a very dangerous Brebeuf twice in the same season won't be a walk in the park, let alone Concordia, Marian, and one of several good teams from the South. Definitely don't agree with the "give Chatard the trophy already" comments, and I wouldn't suspect the players or coaches do either.

The difference I see from the Southridge game to the Linton game is that on offense Tell City had 4 guys that did not play vs. Linton. On defense I see 5 guys that did not play vs. Linton. When we read in the Evansville Courier "Tell City dressed only 22 players for the sectional opener after practicing with just 16 the past two days. Several were asked to play out of position, particularly on defense." And "The other body blow came on Wednesday when nearly 20 players were placed under quarantine due to another positive case." I don't think anyone is saying that Linton is not a good team or that they are not playing well right now. I think we just don't think a win over Tell City under those conditions is something that anyone should be getting to excited about.

I think they are beatable. I've seen both them and West Lafayette play this year and before the upset of West Lafayette by Guerin, I would have picked WL to win. I'm not sure who's left in 3A that could give them a good game though. They ARE good, but there are chinks that could be exploited by the right opponent.

A word on Sagarin. After last night, Northview is still higher than Jasper... Having seen Northview and Jasper, there is absolutely no comparison. Northview might win 2 games in the SIAC, maybe. Sagarin is still way off. We were 21 point underdogs last night per Sagarin.

Possibly he got confused by the other 6 teams playing today. H, N, SP, FC, CC and ND.

I don't think anyone comes close to giving Chatard a game, they are peaking now and at the right time.

There were some bad calls (mostly the unnecessary roughness) that gave Leo life and the lead late in the game, but Northridge shot themselves in the foot with holding penalties on big plays. Northridge's defense looked really good last night and had Leo not been given a first down on the aforementioned call I think they make the stand and this one goes into OT.

Don’t want to discredit the big win for Linton last night- but you gotta feel a little bit for Tell City last night being hit by the Rona bug at absolutely the worst time. 2020 in a nutshell I guess... Having played both teams- at full strength, I believed it would be a nip/tuck type of game. Kuddos to Linton for getting it done- but now TC will be left to wonder “what might have been” had they had their full compliments of players. Best of luck to the teams moving on and congrats to TC on a good year. Just a tough way for it to end

Round 2 is coming up North Knox Mater Dei Will North Knox be able to score enough points against Mater Dei to make a game of it? This one could be a lot closer than most people might think. North Posey Linton Will Linton's defense continue to dominate another opponent? North Posey just put up a big score in round one. However Crawford County isn't on the same level as Linton. I see the Miners winning this one and moving to the title game.

So what do you want , the Miners to apologize for winning? No one cries for Linton when they have a bunch of missing players due to injuries during the season. They always play with who they have. It's called "Next man up". I could care less if TC was down to the head coach. Bottom line, Linton won. If TC can't stay healthy, that isn't the Miners fault.

Attica 30 North Vermillion 28 FINAL Ramblers finish the game with just 12 players healthy and available. That's how the numbers make a difference. If you have a roster of 30, and you lose 3 kids to contact tracing, you can still play. When you start with 14...1 kid can be the difference between playing and not playing every week. How about some respect for the kids doing their best in all of this? I saw it when Turkey Run had 13 kids....and no COVID to deal with. Great win by the Ramblers. Let the flaming begin....but they are moving on, and that's all you want each week.

It’s unfortunate all of this last minute closing is going on. Then again, I don’t feel the administrators arrived at their decisions on a whim. They are giving the virus the respect that is so badly needed.
