  1. Oak Hill vs Blackford - I give Blackford a small chance, very small, but I think OH wins this one. Madison Grant vs Eastbrook - It's homecoming at Eastbrook and they are tough, even in "down" years. I'll take MG in a very close one. Elwood vs Mississinewa - Well..... Alexandria vs Frankton - Close at first but the Tigers should pull away at the end of this one. BTW, where are the Eastbook guys this season telling us all how EB needs to move conferences? CIC is too soft and all of that good chatter?

  4. LaVille beat Judson 23-20. Hard fought game by both teams. Kudos to both for their efforts tonight. CJ Sanchez makes a big difference for the jays. Another week where refs really struggled. Seems like it takes 30 minutes to discuss a call anymore.

  7. Waited until the end of the game to respond. Congrats to the Irish. Dominated every aspect of the game. Footballqueen16 - Cowards? Really? Roncalli dropped you for valid reasons. All of them previously stated. My former namesake "RebelDad" would say more, but I promised a Roncalli Administrator that I would "let it go". So be it. 18. This is fun to think about, thanks for these! 1. Both seem tough to think happen however, more likely would have to be Central scoring 2 TDs on Castle. Harrison has only score 3 TDs in a game once this season and that was against Central. Give me Central to score 2 TDs on Castle. 2. Another tough one to consider because Wagner could get loose and outrun everyone to the end zone and stop the shutout on any play. However, I do think it is more likely they get shut out than score 28 against Reitz. Especially since the most points scored against them is 17. Give me Reitz shuts out Bosse. 3. Again, I do not think Bosse scores very many points tonight so Wagner rushing for 2 TDs seems more unlikely to happen. Give me Davies throwing for 200+ and 2 TDs. 4. I picked both Memorial and North to win earlier in my predictions, so this one is tough for me. I think with the injuries and uncertainty surrounding Memorial and their O, currently, I lean towards VL beating Memorial, if I had to pick one. Give me VL over Memorial. 5. Uncertainty around Rode playing and/or how much he plays makes me hesitate to say in his first game back he gets 100+ and 2 TDs against a fairly decent (statistically) run D from VL. (Other than last week of course 😬). Give me Lindsey to throw for 100+ and 2 TDs.

  20. Some fun gameday discussion...take your pick, what is more likely to happen? 1. Central scores twice on Castle or Harrison scores three times on Mater Dei? 2. Reitz shuts out Bosse or Bosse scores 28+ and makes it a close game? 3. Ben Davies throws for 200+ yards and 2 TDs or Elijah Wagner runs for 200+ yards and 2 TDs? 4. Vincennes beats Memorial or Jasper beats North? 5. Luke Lindsey throws for 100+ yards and 2 TDs or Porter Rode plays and rushes for 100+ yards and 2 TDs?

  24. No at the time up until 1953 there was Cathedral (all boys located downtown Indianapolis), Sacred Heart (later named Kennedy merged with Bishop Chartrand to form Roncalli), and Latin school. You had girls High School too Ladywood (ran by Sisters of Providence) which is where Cathedral sits today, Ladywood and Cathedral were combined to make Cathedral Co-Ed. Cathedral was Operated by Brothers of Holy Cross but full control (no longer financially supported by the Archdiocese happened in 1964 and the brothers closed the doors in 1973 due to financial reasons declining enrollment and shifting populations). In 1953 Scecina Memorial was built, Bishop Chatard in 1961, Bishop Chartrand 1962, and Cardinal Ritter in 1964. These schools were built to ease the overcrowding at Cathedral and Sacred Heart. Parents and Alumni saved Cathedral by forming a non-profit organization to operate the school becoming a Private Catholic school. They have recently rekindled with the Brothers of Holy Cross.

  25. Avon (0-7) has a combined 3 wins over the past 3 seasons...Carmel (4-3) lost to BD 45-16...Warren Central (3-4) got mercy-ruled by LN. 10 coaches vote in the 6A poll. If a pollster votes a team #1, that team gets 10 points, #2 gets 9 points, etc. down to #10 gets 1 point. Avon received 4 points this week, Carmel 3 points, Warren 1 point. So it appears that one 6A coach/pollster voted Avon 7th, Carmel 8th, Warren 10th. My theory is that either A) that coach doesn't want to be a pollster anymore & decided to say F-U to other 6A coaches, or B) that pollster mistakenly submitted their ballot from 2019, which is the last time Avon enjoyed a winning record.

  27. This just gets sillier..... Joe Biden - 2020 Election - “there will not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration” 2023 - President Biden said Thursday that he “can’t stop” construction of new sections of the US-Mexico border wall because Congress wouldn’t rescind spending on it — despite his Homeland Security secretary waiving 26 federal laws to restart former President Donald Trump’s pet project amid record-breaking illegal immigration. So, if he really believes the wall is not effective, he is in direct contradiction with his DHS Chief.......and his Deptartment of Homeland Security...... Kinda reminiscent of George HW Bush & his "read my lips, no new taxes" pledge.....IDK https://nypost.com/2023/10/05/biden-says-he-cant-stop-border-wall-construction-blames-congress/ WASHINGTON — President Biden said Thursday that he “can’t stop” construction of new sections of the US-Mexico border wall because Congress wouldn’t rescind spending on it — despite his Homeland Security secretary waiving 26 federal laws to restart former President Donald Trump’s pet project amid record-breaking illegal immigration. “The money was appropriated for the border wall. I tried to get them to reappropriate, to redirect that money. They didn’t. They wouldn’t,” Biden told reporters in the Oval Office. “In the meantime, there’s nothing under the law other than they have to use the money for what it was appropriated for. I can’t stop that,” he insisted. Asked if he thought the border wall was effective, the president replied, “No.” Biden’s answer contradicted DHS chief Alejandro Mayorkas, who wrote Wednesday in a document justifying the wall expansion that “there is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries.” “The United States Border Patrol’s (Border Patrol) Rio Grande Valley Sector is an area of ‘high illegal entry,'” explained Mayorkas, who added: “Therefore, I must use my authority … to install additional physical barriers and roads in the Rio Grande Valley Sector.” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday evaded numerous reporter questions about the inconsistency of Mayorkas saying the wall was needed to halt illegal immigration and Biden saying it was not necessary. Biden said as a candidate in 2020 that “there will not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration” and halted barrier construction shortly after taking office in January 2021. However, the Biden administration previously authorized some wall construction, including last year to close four gaps in the border wall near Yuma, Ariz., which had seen large flows of migrants. The administration said Wednesday it was bypassing the measures — including the Clean Air Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and Endangered Species Act — to fast-track construction of new sections of border wall along Texas’ border with Mexico, with Mayorkas saying in his memo he had “sole discretion” to do so. The waivers streamline a process of reviews and potential litigation to speed along the project, which will consist of about 20 miles of additional wall in Starr County along the Rio Grande in South Texas. The funding for the new construction was approved by Congress in 2019. Biden restarted Trump’s wall after about 233,000 migrants were detained for illegally entering the US in August — more than had crossed in already elevated waves in August 2021 and August 2022. An ABC News poll last month found that Biden has just 23% approval from the public on his handling of immigration and the border, making it a major political liability going into his expected rematch against Trump next year. Fiscal year 2023, which ended Sept. 30, is on track to break all annual records of illegal immigration, with more than 2.2 million apprehensions already recorded. Statistics for September have yet to be released. Fiscal 2022 had 2.38 million Southwest border detentions, up dramatically from 1.73 million the year prior, the first of the border surge under Biden, according to Customs and Border Protection data.

  30. They'll always be cowards for discontinuing what was once one of the better rivalries in the state. Reasons as to why they're now scheduling Cathedral again in football? Regime change? Increased level of on-field talent the last couple of seasons?

  31. My girlfriend and I broke up because of Coach Knigga. We got in a huge fight over it because I was saying how beautiful Coach is. The fight eventually spilled into other topics and it got really heated. In the heat of the moment I called her a "Connersville Spartans Fan", and it was a wrap. We dated for two years and were thinking about moving in together. At the time I thought she was the love of my life. And it ended over Coach K, And since all of my friends were also her friends, and she was closer friends with them than I was, they took her side. So I lost all my friends too. My best friend called me a few hours after the argument and said he didn't want to hang out with me anymore because it would cause drama. The only person I've talked to in like a week is my Coach K stuffed animal. GO TIGERS

  32. Hang by his nuts? You must hate success. I’m sure you could find a volunteer job on staff and offer your great insights. I’m guessing every teams fans base in the SIAC would love to hang on to Hurleys nuts, all the way to 5 state title appearances and two titles in two different classes. If you find a better set of nuts to grab on to please let me know.

  33. You certainly implied that in your previous posts. And that’s what triggered me. I know there are crews out there that leave a lot to be desired. But ineptitude and favoritism are two very different things. And it seems like you’re using them interchangeably.
