  1. I've kept meaning to post this since Friday night but kudos to Jeffersonville's Champions Together program. Before the game stated a Special Olympian Jeremy Singleton was in uniform and fully suited up in Red Devils gear. Both Jeffersonville offense and BNL defense lined up at the 20 and he ran the football for a touchdown. That stuff warms my heart and I love to see it.

  2. A deep run to week 2. I think they will have a tough time with Mater Dei. I think the South rep at LOS will be decided that week.

  3. I really have no idea what you’re getting at, but it’s not unusual for teams to put starters in the game on special teams, or non scrimmage plays. As far as having seniors on the field.....well this time of year, their time is getting short, most of their careers are about to end. I’ve personally known Coach May since he’s been at BC and been on the field for many of their running clock games, including a 98-24 game, I have never seen an instance where he’s tried to run the score up, be disrespectful to, or embarrass an opponent. I’m not sure what you’re hinting at, but if you’re saying BC is running some sort of Bush League operation you’re wrong.

  4. Martinsville was a charter member of the South Central Conference which formed in 1936. They withdrew in 1938 and were readmitted in 1941 (per the 1966 edition of the South Central Conference handbook). I don't think the Arties joined the Mid-State Conference until the mid-2000s. Greenwood, Mooresville and Plainfield are the only founding members of the Mid-State who have been in the conference since the beginning and never left.

  6. I believe the Mid-State's been around since the 40's. 1942 per Almanac Sports. Decatur left & came back too. http://www.almanacsports.com/football/conference.php?conf_id=midstate

  7. Their last 5 games were against smaller schools that are waiting for basketball. Only Tech has a winning record (5-4). The days of Jeff putting up big numbers may be over this year. We will see if their defense can keep them in games!

  8. Exactly. They were in CI until the start of the 06-07 school year.

  11. The Raiders offensive line has been impressive. The Packers were not able to get any pressure on Carr. The defense basically made just two plays the whole game; the 4th down stop on the goal line, and the pick in the end zone. The offense has been a different story though. This is the best they have looked all season. What I really like is seeing the number of players that have been involved, and the running game has been solid.

  12. If I were GS, I'd run a spread offense (three wide and a TE, and force HH to try to match up man to man for four quarters. I'm not sure HH has the same program work ethic that they once did. Meanwhile, Gibson Southern can platoon and out work the Patriots.

  14. Well I’m trying to speak very vague and not be hostile. I don’t personally know most of you and vice versa. I don’t wanna point fingers or call out names. I’m just trying to get others people perspectives on when is enough enough both in winning and losing. That’s all.

  17. Has double standard for BD is hypocritical. Never gave Coach K his due under the grounds of, “anyone can win at BD with their numbers and talent”, yet is constantly looking for and suggesting BD’s replacement. He doesn’t get it, never will.

  18. I kinda flipped a coin between the the two if I’m being honest. IMO if the New Pal-Cathedral game happens, it’ll be the game of the year. I just want the tournament to start already!!

HHC Champs in : Boys Soccer (won regional tonight) Girls Soccer (lost in sec champ) Volleyball (Sectional champs tonight) Football Baseball will be extremely good again this year, will be pre season #1 or #2. Ready for football sectionals now, but have to wait 2 weeks for 6A to start.

  24. High school sports are education based sports, that means it’s a part of your education. We know know your stance on public education, I would never expect you to understand or share my opinion.

  25. I'm just glad not everyone shares your opinion. An opinion that if a program finishes with 9 wins, 7 wins, 7 wins, 1 win, and likely zero wins over the past five years, then you shut down their program. I think you do a great job of playing devil's advocate on the forum, but you're really reaching here.

  26. It is a MCL no surgery required. Not quire as bad as ACL I hear no basketball with Baseball very questionable. if he can't play Baseball it will destroy Blackford's chance at having a decent team. He is. a great catcher who has already committed to Eastern Illinos to play Baseball.

  27. Not much we can say, we cried about Cathedral beating our heads in years ago, and loved when they got bumped up to better competition. Now it’s our turn. I don’t hear much from CE fans at games complaining. They have earned the right to play at the 6A level against teams like CG. Do I hope we win the game? Absolutley. Do I know most people are going to say CG is going to win easily? Yep. Just part of it. CE is the little school out of Columbus. Lol

  28. Charlie is an excellent player but New Pal has been very strong for the last seven years. What you fail to understand is their climb to a powerhouse position came at the time Kyle Ralph took control of the football program. Did you ever consider that coaching may have been a major part in the success of the program. Are they to be penalized or forced to leave their conference because he may be a step above his counterparts. In addition, should the players be forced to leave because they 100% bought into the program dedicating endless hours of hard work in the weight room and during the off season when conditioning is critical to a successful program. Here is a novel idea. If you don't like the manner in which your competition is beating you on a yearly basis, then get better. Get into the weight room, hire a tremendous coach like New Pal did and see if your programs changes in a positive manner.

  29. Cass is too SR dominated to allow for a 'letdown' doesn't mean that Pioneer couldn't win, but won't be because of any sort of let down when your best players are seniors.

  30. Another incredibly uninformed, throw-a-dumb-idea-against-the-wall take from Driven Dakich. First off, there have been dominant teams in the HHC in the past - Delta & Mt. Vernon in the late 1990s/early 2000s, most notably. While some of the conference teams have been on down cycles, Pendleton Heights, Mt. Vernon and Delta are all trending toward being at that level of being teams who could make a deep run. The HHC sponsors 20 sports. There are dominant teams in a few of them. Should Yorktown & New Castle be kicked out because of their volleyball prowess? Delta has won 20+ tennis titles in the conference. Should they be kicked out, too? The bottom line is, the Hoosier Heritage Conference is a solid group of eight schools who are geographically compact and roughly the same size. One could argue the football team isn't even the most dominant team at New Palestine, given the softball team has won six state championships since 2004. Over time, as HoosierFB_JG noted, Mt. Vernon, New Palestine and Pendleton Heights could significantly outgrow the more rural schools in the conference and that might cause some realignment. Greenfield-Central will experience some growth, but probably not to the level of those three, who are closer to the growth explosion in Indy and Fishers/Noblesville. But that's not happening anytime soon. New Palestine is a member in good standing in the HHC, which has more sports than football, and has state championship-level teams in several of them (the HHC had *four* IHSAA championship teams last year - New Castle & Yorktown volleyball, New Palestine football & softball ... and Yorktown was the state runner-up to NP in softball).

  31. If Columbus East hasn’t been kicked out of the HHC, don’t think New Pal is getting the boot. New Pal is only like a 49 game conference win streak... Columbus East is at 101 game conference win streak. Just don’t see a 7 year streak getting someone a boot.

  33. Oak Hill @ Alex - This is going to be a really close game especially if Alex can’t get the defense on track. Give me Alex in a close one 28-24 Eastbrook @ Elwood - Eastbrook may score 100!! Frankton @ MG - Mg wins again this week and I think they will win handily. MG 35-14. I agree MG’s sectional draw was a huge blessing and huge for the program! MG wins 4 in a row and will play for a sectional championship and will have their first sectional victory since 2011. Huge for MG. Ole Miss @ Blackford - I believe Blackford can keep this close for awhile and will do that but Ole Miss pulls away in the second half. Ole Miss by 14-20

  34. If I was a betting man and I feel like I know Coach Shanley pretty well, with the program he has developed there is not a chance that his team lost anyone because of grades. Culture change in land of Bronchos is not just ON the field but it has been OFF the field as well. I know they are excited for the opportunity to take on the Pirates and speaking with Coach Shanley just last week before the draw even came out, he knew exactly what Merrillville has and knows his team is in for a huge fight up in the 219. Coach does not leave any rocks unturned. I wouldn't even say it was an upset if the Pirates won, just because they are that talented as well. Going to be a very good game week 1 of sectional 1

  35. I’m not sure how BD is doing poor? If they win this weekend they’ll win the MIC with a relatively young team. They’re a favorite to win the sectional. If they need to have their program turned around, you’re essentially saying the entire MIC needs an overhaul. I knew this BD team would need to rebuild in 18 and 19. They’ll be one of the best in 2020, no doubt. Just as long as they don’t beat the Hounds. 2 state titles in 5 years. Not shabby. CG 1 Carmel 1 WC 1 Other 28 6A programs, 0

  38. Its really not an issue of running up a score on someone. It’s more to the point of why play your starters against someone else’s backups? I know first hand how exciting it is for the kids that are JV regulars to say they scored on another teams varsity, but why? What’s the point?
