Coach Hess said most of it pretty well, but get over yourself, man. It's high school sports. Not college or pro. Stop making it like it's a big deal. To most people who don't play, coach or aren't parents, it's really not. You have no reason to be "mad." They're high school kids. They have a lot more on their mind that football. So that's GS at 2-4 vs your 6A examples and down one score to the 4A example, 2-5 overall. Maybe not a win over all of them every time, but I don't think GS would get shut down by all seven, if ever given the chance. All losses within striking distance, especially for a GS offense. I don't imagine GS would likely back down from getting a 2-year deal with any of them, other than maybe travel limitations. Then again, GS met Calumet in Brownsburg to make up a covid game, so maybe not so unlikely. Until then, all hypothetical.

This is the most disgraceful Notre Dame performance I've ever witnessed, and I've seen a few in my 79 years! I cannot believe they went into a prevent with more than 9 minutes left. The safeties were almost on US 31 during the beginning of that drive.

After the off week, we do play at Hammond Morton, and I've been advised by some knowledgeable folks to not waste my money driving to Hammond for that one. It will be the first Irish game I've missed, by my own will, in quite a while. I can't believe I'll have two consecutive Fridays at home during football season! My wife will not like this!

Thanks for the clarification. The radio call kept saying it was offsides on the kicker. and I didn’t know they made a rule for those kicks or had a name for them. It makes me happy that it’s no longer allowed. From a personal perspective, I had my leg broken in high school because of a “pop up” kick

By rule the kicker and the holder may be beyond K’s Free Kick Line. The kicker was not called twice for being “offsides”. K was called twice for pop up kicks. In talking with the coach it seems just misexecuted squib kicks.

Last year they brought in Pyne for the Wisconsin game. He bailed the Irish out then we didn't see him for the rest of the year. I wish they'd give him a legitimate shot.

I think Indiana has it right. Only tweak I would really like to see is possibly two different thresholds for invoking the running clock. 1st Half 35 point differential. 2nd Half 28 point differential I think we can all agree that some games need it in the first half.

That might be why South Bend had the best teams 100 years ago, because they played against Notre Dame. October 21, 1921- South Bend 79 Lafayette Jeff 0. That game was played right before the Notre Dame/Nebraska game. Logansport did not play Jeff in 1921. Logansport did beat Rensselaer 22-15 on October 15, 1921. Rensselaer beat Jeff 60-6 on October 1, 1921

To be honest, my playing days are starting to get a little fuzzy. But my experience is they’ll have 40 guys on the roster, they will play about 15 the whole game. They have no discipline, no conditioning, no real Football skills, they just do it on athleticism. And they lose late in the game to teams that are disciplined, conditioned, and have some fundamental Football skills. I’ve told this story 1000 times but it’s so demonstrative of the situation. We were playing at Jeff in the conference tournament. We were on the bus pulling into the athletic complex on the west side of the school. We notice a little 3 yard dumpster on the west side of the school with the lid open and flames shooting out of the top. I saw it and nudges one of the coaches behind me, if that isn’t Jeff athletics in a picture I don’t know what is.

I noticed after last night that Danny is now Cathedrals all-time leader in career passing touchdowns. And he still has over a season and a half to add to that.

Correct, Rensselaer had a influx of transient students who were brought in by their migrant working families for the fall, SEPT count came, 521, by Christmas time we were back at 502. Just one of those things. So it goes, but like the 2 year opportunity in 3a, however in 2 year cycle, we will closer to 1a then 3a Also, give credit to Coach Fry and his staff on their weight room and speed developments that their school has bought into as a culture. That's where it starts.

With the yardage loss on the sacks, that might be right…or at least close. They relied heavily on Wunderlich’s arm - which makes sense, he’s got a very good one. He throws it quick and on target. He’s also very mobile and strong on his feet. Memorial really controlled the line of scrimmage both ways. As a side note, they need to take the page out of the playbook that has the bubble screen and burn it in a team ceremony.

When Tipton first came into the Hoosier Conference WL was not very good. Outside of 2001 Tipton was pretty average and beat WL like 5-6 years in a row. Then they got an influx of talent and have been good ever since. I think schools like Tipton, LCC and Rensselaer are always at least solid and are really good every 3-4 years. WL just seems to be able to reload unlike anyone else.
