  2. Given the Colts history of first round picks, probably a HUGE win for them not getting any.

  3. Every “successful” program has its own dynamics. There’s no magic bullet, however certain factors ALWAYS shine thru. Commitment to a system, hard work, stability in staffs, etc. the difference in dynamics between EC and Brownstown are many, but the tradition, the work, the system, the process, is all the same. All that being said, my daughter used to play club ball for the HC at Scecina. We practiced at Scecina’s home field, Brookside Park. There were two diamonds there and during SB season the put all the banners up, former all-stars, former state champions, former all state players, etc. it was quite impressive to walk into. I asked several current players at the time, do you feel pressure to live up to the the tradition here, EVERY one of them said yes. Lastly my last time in EC’s field was for the Mueller game a few years back, it was Yute Night, holy cow, I ain’t seen that many elementary kids rocking world class mullets in my life!

  6. They would struggle against Northview and Sullivan. That's it.

  7. FC plays that same schedule and they’d have the same record, if not better than South Put. You’re welcome to disagree but there’s no reason for name calling. I’d like to think you've been taught better than that.

  8. Just my opinion, but I would not have called intentional grounding on that play. To expound a bit, this is a play where you really need communication among crew members. The R is in the correct position, on the QB’s throwing side. But this makes it impossible for him to see where the ball was thrown, since he has to focus on the action against the QB. The Linesman needs to come in after the play and inform the R that there was a receiver in the vicinity. But on this play, the contact against the QB was a factor in the errant pass. So, IMO, this should not have been called a foul.

  9. South Putnam made a statement Friday night by dominating a very very good Fountain Central Mustang squad 45–7. FC was easily one of the toughest opponents they’ll face all season but South Put controlled the game from start to finish. At this point it’s hard to see anyone in 1A slowing them down. They look poised to walk right into the state finals.

  10. If Ohio State and IU are both undefeated playing for the B10 championship...the loser isn't dropping out of the top 4 unless it's a completely non-competitive 40 point game game. If Alabama and/or Texas A&M lose before they play each other in the SEC title game you can probably pencil in Ohio State and Indiana as top 4 seeds before they even play the game.

  11. I have seen first hand with my son how hard it is to get recruited by a FBS D1 school, especially now with the transfer portal. This kid is a great RB and athlete but he would be best served going to a D3, NAIA school maybe a Dayton or Butler to be on the field and play early and be a difference maker. I am sure y'all know but D3 schools have studs (from highschool) that never see the field....It is really competitive. Just my opinion....I could be wrong.

  14. Cats? As in Wildcats? Cougars? Panthers? Tigers? What type of cats are you referring to? LOL, have you been on the recruiting trail Billy? So you can take credit for the resurgence of Woolf high school football? Or do you mean kids that can play? Because I have seen your middle school Woolfs. I have my doubts that several of them will transition to the gridiron in high school. Hardwood, more likely. But we do agree that South Putnam probably won't stay in a 3 man front.

  19. No...I reminded you that you lacked experience playing the game, so that lack of experience plays into some of your posts. But nice spin attempt. Bottom line, since you didn't play the game, its all theorical for you. The press release states the impact of cheating. You wish to downplay it since its "your team". Had Ohio State been caught cheating doing the same, you would have been all over it and we all know it. Had there been zero advantage, Stalions wouldn't have been doing it. Absolute belief that the investment in breaking the rules yielded a benefit. The Michigan team last year and this year is nothing like the run under Harbaugh's final season. That is fact.

  20. Oh I know. If Steve were the HC at FC this year, they still would've won the HHC. I know it's not all his fault. I think a big issue is that NA acts like nothing but basketball matters. Not that Floyd Central is a football powerhouse but they do care about it more and spend more time developing their youth system.

  21. Hey, if you can't build a program from the ground up, recruit players coached up at other schools.

  22. There are ups and downs in talent at the vast majority of high schools year-to-year. As a coach at a program that has not had a history of success, I wouldn't want anyone to take the job with the "isn't much we can do" mindset. It is fine to acknowledge the realities of a school's situation, but I think that it is a really negative mindset to chalk it up as "isn't much you can do." I agree with the sentiment that Coach Cooley is probably working hard and he is as capable as any other coach out there so I am not disagreeing with the idea that it is not all on him, because of course it isn't. I do, though, believe that New Albany is more than capable of improving significantly from where they are right now.

  24. Prince - SP played six teams that finished with winning records. It is statistically and historically impossible for FC to have the same record had they played the same schedule as SP. 🤡

  25. Good points. If he is in fact a true 4.49 runner you are correct, he should be getting D1 offers. The offense that Knox runs is not going to help his chances and, I dont think he looks like he is an absolute lightening bolt of a runner (just my opinion). My son is a college running back so I know what I am looking at. I just hope he goes somewhere where he can see the field!

  27. Not sure you could have been more diplomatic. Lol This is also pretty spot on. Lol no issues here with Russ. Played against him a few times and coached against him twice. Fiery is a great word to describe him but I think it made it more fun for me to compete against him than anything, honestly.

  29. I agree with what you've stated. I would say Coach Ralph has had to play less 2 way players than when he first took over the job as the roster has probably grown @crimsonace1would be able to tell more about that. Coach Ralph has always had a great sense that his teams have had to be very good conditioning wise and has always put a large focus on that. Being a former Offensive Lineman at St. X (Cincy OH) and North Carolina (2 time all ACC Offensive lineman) he has put a huge focus on strength in the weight room. Not just for the football team but the entire school and their athletics teams. I will forever say that I believe Coach Ralph is one of if not the best football coach in Indiana. His 151-14 record in 13 seasons is amazing. He didn't step into a huge football blue blood (like Ben Davis or Carmel). He has made New Palestine who was 3-7 when he took over into one of the best programs in the State. I am not sure of a link. I am pretty confident it will be on IHSAATV.

  30. Old School, hard nose, some of his teams were known to play with quite the edge, moreso Griffith and New Prairie. Me personally, no qualms with the man, but his style over the years probably have soured some on him, is my guess. FIERY is one way to describe Coach Radtke

  33. 1. All I am doing is restating what the NCAA has said and verified after its findings..."Michigan won fair and square" was the exact statement. 2. There are different levels of "cheating" and while whataboutism is an unattractive trait, I have still yet to see anyone on here make a case that it in anyway affected games. The "spy" was let go and then Michigan rolled through Penn State, Maryland, Ohio State, Iowa, Alabama and Washington...with Harbaugh suspended for 3 of those. 3. They then go and beat Ohio State and Alabama AGAIN the follwing year without Harbaugh or "the spy." 4. His name is MOORE, not Morris. 5. Michigan is on the "struggle bus" at 7-2 with all of its goals in front of them despite having the youngest team in the Big Ten? I had them at 7-2 at this stage when the schedule came out, though I had them losing to Nebraska and beating USC. The over/under on win totals for this season was 8.5 according to Vegas. They are right on pace. This was always going to be a developmental year. 6. Your definition of struggle bus is comical. If a 7-2 team is on the struggle bus then what are you saying about other normally elite programs like Clemson, Florida State, Penn State, Nebraska, Florida and Tennessee? I mean there are two threads dedicated to LSU but this thread only focuses on one "blue blood." Everybody wants to line up for their "gotcha" moment on the Temp. 7. IU is better than Michigan. No doubt. Not sure if you wanted to hear that from me to feel better? I've stated that I was wrong about Cignetti. Dude is elite. They have an elite 22 year old at the most important position on the field. That kinda matters.
