  1. Cold weather is coming, there will be contraction.

  2. Invitation extended and accepted. Contract isn't signed yet, but there is a verbal agreement to play at WW. We sweetened the pot by offering to feed the whole team and coaches from the grill before they return home.

  3. Do you ever quit talking about who is not on your team, or who moved, or who is injured? Why don't you just talk about the players that are playing? All teams have guys that are hurt or have moved away. You don't hear everyone on here whining about what could of been for their teams. Move on! And you wonder why people give you a hard time on here!

  7. IHSAA needs to get creative and Establish a rehab class for situations like this. Frankfort, Crawfordsville, Shelbyville, Owen Valley, and other mid size schools would benefit. Basically give them the option to opt out of tournament. And play games against similar competion. It doesn’t really help the good programs/teams to beat these schools to death.

  8. The Woofs might be a juggernut or whatever but the fact remains North Vermillions is the front runner as long as Crabtrees is there. And that dude with the shorts and hat. I gotta go

  10. I think LaVille can be Knox and Pioneer, if they play mistake free and limit big plays on defense. I know a lot of people like to say that the Pioneer game was closer than the score and that Pioneer got the breaks but it went both ways. On LaVille’s first TD, they had a lineman 15 yards downfield that was not called. So for those saying Pioneer scored on a KO return and a botched punt and with 1 second to go in the half, well it’s all part of the game. Give credit where credit is due, Pioneers ability to stop LaVille inside the red zone is as much Pioneers defense stepping up as LaVilles offense not executing. I’m sure Coach Hostrawser told his team the same thing and that they need to learn from it and get better. The only way LaVille can get that proverbial monkey off their back, is to win this week, get better until sectionals and then show their worth against whoever it is they face. They can do it but as with any game, they must play mistake free football and limit the big plays. There’s my two cents!

  11. They're struggling thanks to a few years of a down feeder system, but are rebuilding at the elementary level and their numbers are up at the junior high. A large 4A school in a legacy community with a proud tradition IS NOT CONTRACTING despite DT's wishes to see fewer opportunities for Indiana high school football players.

  12. Predictor tool has RC as a 10 pt favorite. Based on history (which doesn't mean much) and week to week schedule, I would tend to think the Bombers would win.

  15. I fail to see the comparison of this to @Footballking16 statement. New Pal enrollment 1,175 Roster 65 / Cathedral enrollment 1,099 Roster 85 (pretty similar in enrollment and roster) Avon enrollment 3,095 Roster 79 / Chatard enrollment 714 Roster 81 (similar in roster big difference in enrollment) There are likely very gifted athletes in the halls of Avon that don't play football, they may not play football because they have no interest to play football and prefer focusing on another sport: Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, etc. Honestly who knows.

  16. I'd be more concerned about some of the utterances on the sideline from irate coaches who might conjecture where the ref could put that down marker after making a call against the home team. 😄

  17. Kind of disappointed the Kings and Bombers won't get to matchup in the regular season. The two have had some great games come down to the wire the last couple of years. Both are playing great football right now. I think it was mentioned LCC was the 2-3 best team in small class football right now. These might be the two teams in front of them right now. Fingers crossed for a regional matchup. Both have some really good contenders in their sectional also. I know anything can happen come playoff time, but I think there's a pretty good chance we might see 1A, 2A, and 3A north represented by a hoosier conference team. Hats off to the programs and coaches for a great season so far. Very competitive every week (minus maybe WL games). I think this conference is proof that the everyone making the tournament style of playoffs is beautiful. Test yourself with some really good programs from all different classes so your ready for anything come playoff time. Always gives you a chance to compete with very skilled teams. I know Cass wouldn't have played Eastbrook as well as they did in the sectional championship had it not been for the schedule they played last year.

  18. I know this has been touched on here and there before but here's a bit more on it. For the life of me, I can't figure out why both sides wouldn't want to continue playing this game. This article from Mishawaka's website sounds like them saying, "Don't look at us!" for the reason this game isn't being played for at least the next 4 years. https://cavemensports.com/2019/09/24/this-is-it-mishawaka-penn-football-series-ending-after-this-year/?fbclid=IwAR0yKDt2wwlExII2WrznZWnhjUQUFEEdFigDYCdriRYMLVfMBrzuo1jZXIE Rivalries are a regional thing and I've only lived in a few different areas of Indiana in my lifetime but for my money this is the best rivalry I've had the pleasure to witness. I feel bad kids in both programs currently in grades 7-10 because most all of them will go through their varsity football careers without having the opportunity to play against their rivals from 3 miles down the road.

  19. In the EIAC we have one school that I know uses the digital stick. It doesn’t change much for my viewing pleasure. I would, however like to see one on each sideline. It is sometimes difficult to see the down marker when there are 120 players dressed on their sideline. An impressive sight though with that many students interested in the sport. We don’t have that particular problem on our sideline so the good old flipper boards are good enough for us!

  22. We still use manual flip cards, they don't need charged, they take a beating and they are inexpensive. Ours look like it rode with Evil Knievel on most of his failed jumps. But it works.

  23. No television or video stream that I'm aware of. As was mentioned, 98.1 The Bash (Gibson Southern) streams their radio call. 103.3 The Fix (Heritage Hills) also streams at www.1033TheFix.com.

  28. Not sure 2 awful seasons rises to level of contraction. The 3 seasons prior were 7-3, 7-3, and 9-2. Granted no deep tournament runs but those are good years. It's pretty clear if they find a good coach they can compete. I heard the same. Not that the Jasper game would've been competitive either but not the ridiculous mismatch Shelbyville will be

  35. Adding to that statement, I think there will be a very hungry, disciplined and talented SR team that might also add to who wins and loses in this sectional!!

  36. Play down is NO WAY to build a program. It creates false hope. Coach the kid in a scheme that they can win in. I haven't seen the team play since their last coach but if I had to guess they are trying to run some sort of spread. correct me if I am wrong. Please

  38. PH might be better than Linton. None of us will ever know because they won’t play this year. I’m just wondering what PH has done to prove themselves. Like I said they’ve beat basically the same teams this year as they did last year and last year “the great Brian Moore” turned around and lost to Attica in sectionals a team he had already beat once. Who says that doesn’t happen again. Not to mention PH beat Attica worse last year than they did this year before they lost to them.

  41. Center Grove is playing without there best player hands down. Going to be a hard out when Carson gets back on the field . Won't be surprised to see them at Lucas Oil Thanksgiving weekend!! And South Adam's stop with the non sense!! LCC coming out of North in 1A.

  42. The Tri West AD served on the 3A alignment comittee! Probably should have worried about what his HC was doing more than trying to weasel their way into an easier sectional!

  43. Speaking of Sectional 30.........the injustice of some things. Sectional 28 an absolute meat grinder. Sectional 32, with 3 top 10 teams. Sectional 31 has some stiff competition top to bottom................and then you have a sectional like 31 with one team having a winning record. I know the schools have no choice in the matter, but the irony of it all.

  45. It is high level of coaching and players and systems each and every week it seems. Watching LCC this weekend and today. They are the best 2-3 team in small class football in my opinion. They gave Guerin all they wanted most of the 1st half until some things went south late 2nd quarter for them. Same Guerin team that just beat 6a Columbus North. Beat Tipton, who is valid 2a team. Took their WL medicine already and played very competitive week 1 game vs Tri West. They are the hands down favorite to win sectional 42 in my humbled opinion and they may go into the tournament with a sub 500 record and being playing in Semi State SECTIONAL 41 SECT. 46. I agree with Carmel, but I can’t see WC making it past CG or Avon in the tournament IMO. With Carson Steele set to be back this week or next, I think that they’re going to go on a tear. Avon is looking like a very dangerous team right now. Should be interesting to see how everything plays out.
