  1. Well it looks like we were way off. New Albany surprised us. Madison was oh-so-close but let us down. I figured East could go either way and Seymour doesn't completely surprise me but I thought they'd pull it off. Oh well. Now we know better going forward what teams look like.

  2. Seems to me that East improves as the season progresses and North takes a step or two back. They certainly struggled after his other departure

  3. about 4 weeks into the season for all the teams playing. Every team in Indiana who got to play this weekend only was able to see each other or possibly a controlled scrimmage last week, with many of those not even going on. I know for our team, I am not panicing, as that was our 1st game vs a solid 4a team after only seeing 14-16 year old scout team players last 2 weeks. THAT IS A HUGE difference and the process is just now beginning. Not complaining, just the reality of the situation everyone is under. Got 9 weeks to get it right with our teams around the state of Indiana. Just my thoughts after reading comments on our site and online here since kickoff. Excited to be back and hope to stay back.

  9. They have very talented sophomore class with some solid JR's and a SR QB who has been a starter since halfway through his Freshman year I believe. An All State type kicker. Brand new 8 million dollar investment in facilities and a renewed spirit. They will not be judged by their non conference schedule of RCHS, Wheeler, S.B. Washington, and North Newton, as they shouldn't be, however I would suspect if they can keep things together and healthy find themselves in some winnable opportunities in the NCC. I would be utterly shocked if they are not 4-0 going into conference games. Judgement day for the Kougars will be Game 6 vs Lowell.

  10. Maybe I missed something. What about Boonville would cause GS, HH, or SR to be looking over their shoulders? Boonville won big against Washington last night. But they have not lost to Washington for over 10 years, and they usually win big. Boonville was 5-5 last year and lost to Linton who Southridge beat. Both Gibson Southern and Heritage Hills beat Southridge last year. Maybe Boonville beats all three of them this year. But just what have they done that would cause GS, HH, or SR to be looking over their shoulders?

  13. Because Paoli is a good 2A program coached by Brian Glesing and Madison lost by 1. I feel Madison can beat the teams in the HHC not named East, FC, and NA.

  14. Some could argue whether it was smart or not for Gibson to schedule the games they have. What you can't argue is they have the stones to actually schedule and play those teams. There are many coaches who shy away from competition, get uneasy about scheduling teams that might put a loss next to his name. Scheduling a team like CN is debatable. What is not, is they had the guts to do it.

  15. One game at a time for the coaches and the team. As fans we can and always look ahead, GS percentage is high of going 1-3 in the first four games. It doesn't get any easier starting with Southridge game 5. We shall see how this plays out for everyone. Good luck Cappy and thank you.

  16. It would be interesting to have coronavirus antibody tests conducted on all of the workforce. We know at least five people tested positive on two seperate occassions. I often wonder if herd immunity has occurred. Our workforce has worked a bunch of hours each week since the coronavirus outbreak and the union workers absolutely will not wear masks or social distance.

  17. Been hard to get motivated to post on here with so much in limbo, can't wait for us to finally start playing. That being said, great to have some area football back, looks like HN put up a good fight, and the game of the night was between Mishawaka and Marian. Good to see Wawasee get a nice win and to see Plymouth get spanked too 🤷🏻‍♂️

  18. We couldn't match Columbus Norths speed and they are a very good team. I can't imagine what the top team in 6A looks like. Brady did a good job, was hurried a few times and took one sack. One very bright spot moving forward was the play of freshman Sean Delong, he was not intimidated my his surroundings and should have made a strong case for lots of playing time. Its not going to be any easier next week.

  19. Links, please. Your complete and utter disdain for empowering families to have real choices regarding the education of their children is noted. And it's understandable, maintaining the government education near-monopoly keeps you, and others here on the GID, employed.

  20. I have a lot of respect for East. To go from 4A to 6A without it being an enrollment change, is pretty impressive. Regardless of how things go, Gaddis is one of the All-Time Greats.

  21. A few years ago when I logged into the GID from my office I was greeted with a rather “hirsute” lady who would have found a great home in many 1970’s “Art” films. Despite my teenage (and ongoing) affinity for the ladies of that era and my possible enjoyment of those art films at the time, I had to stop logging in from my office entirely. I’m really not sure what was going on at the time.

  22. Finals. Chatard 27 Brebeuf 14 (at Brebeuf). Both teams are contenders to win their Sectional. Honestly believe a second game could go either way. Guerin 14 McCutcheon 7. Appears to be a hard fought game ultimately won by a team with a really tough-minded coach (from Penn originally....I might be wrong on this)....not that that might be a surprise. Covenant Christian 52 Jennings County 14. Seriously, 4A Jennings County, you just got dog-piled by a 1A team from the Circle City Conference that’s not quite up to playing in the Circle City Conference (because the other teams are either 3A or 4A teams.....or 2A Heritage Christian who won’t even play....) What’s the deal Jennings County? Seriously..... Roncalli v Southport. No game. No surprise. No name....Roncalli continues to disappoint. Whatever the Hell their name is these days. I’m sure their Social Justice Czar will come up with an appropriate name.....I have some suggestions, though. I may be behind the times as to their name, though......as if I cared. Heritage Christian (2A) v. ?. Don’t think that game happened but who cares? Honestly don’t pay much attention since they won’t even play in their own conference. Attribute my 2020 attitude to COVID.....since most everything else this year has been....well....less than positive.

  23. Mine are currently shoe ads and ads for website hosting and such. LOL That pick is a little much though although technically not a nude. It's close to not meeting Google ad standards in Adsense.

  24. Congrats to our county Rival, Kougars, on their Cracker Barrel victory 28-7 No panic here, work out these kinks we have to work out in season that we didn't get to do in summer (like most schools) and be back at it on Monday.

  25. I personally think the talent pool at East isn’t as good as it once was. For several years, the talent across the field on both sides of the ball was very high. However, the last few years it seems like we have holes in certain places and we’ve also had slow starts to the season. Seems like it takes three or four weeks for us to get into a rhythm. Maybe it’s from the dependence on guys whose primary sport is baseball but I don’t know. Just my opinion. Take it or leave it.

  27. Very very unpopular opinion- Gaddis has seen better days. He’s been out coached vs North for the last few years. Mental mistakes cost the O’s a W tonight. If he coached against tougher competition thru the season, he wouldn’t have the exalted status he does now. Maybe it’s the whiskey talking but I’m not the rah rah guy for him I once was.

  28. Whiteland defeated us this evening. CE was very sloppy tonight... roughing the kicker on a FG attempt inside the 10 gave Whiteland a TD, and a shanked punt to start the game off gave Whiteland a TD that they had to move the ball about 30 yards total.. Not going to beat many good teams when you gift 14 points to a quality team as them. Good Luck and it’s awesome to see GS playing up.

  31. Anyone who believes cheap non medical grade masks from China are protecting them from the coronavirus lacks common sense. I have already stated the manufacturing plant where I work employs over 1,000 union workers where 80-90% refuse to wear masks or social distance. I observe hundreds of people every day playing cards at picnic tables during their break and lunch periods. They sit across from one another in groups of four. No one is more than two feet from the other three and no one is wearing a mask. This has been going on since the company initiated a mandatory mask policy 3 months ago yet our plant has had no further spread of the coronavirus.

  32. I thought you were going to tell us you found naked pictures of women in The Times, Post-Tribune, La Porte County Herald-Dispatch, and South Bend Tribune sports section. 😀 Lord, I apologize for that. On a serious note, J&C did a preview of the area teams a week or so ago.

  34. Pioneer has installed new obstacles this season with the addition of mole runs. Sadly, this is not sarcasm. There are bare dirt spots (earlier than normal this year) from moles allowed to run rampant on the visitor sideline. During our self scrimmage this season we could only use half of the field because a mole trap was never removed by our maintenance staff.
