  1. ...for the downtime this week. My main reason for making this post is really to test. This 'thing' has been a pain in my back side this week. Carry on, enjoy yourselves.

  2. A couple female coworkers were discussing weather this week. One of them said that she liked snow and then started complaining about the weather man promising a foot and then she'd be disappointed because she only got a couple inches. To which I interjected into their conversation, "is this weather man someone you found on Tinder?" To which she seemed confused, but the second lady started choking on her lunch. Swear to God I thought I was going to have to make a call to 911 for her.

  25. Went 5-3 last week on my Week 1 picks... chalk it up to first week lack of knowledge. Here are my quick Week 2 picks before we head into conference play the rest of the season. Elkhart (1-0) at Mishawaka (1-0): I like Mishawaka at home following their destruction of rival Marian last week. Elkhart will have to score more on offense to hang with the Cavemen, and I do not see that happening. Mishawaka by 13 Jimtown (0-1) at Concord (0-1): Both teams really struggled offensively last week, while their defenses showed out. In the 60 game history of this Cable Line Cup rivalry, the record is tied up 30-30. I will go with the home team. Concord by 7 Kokomo (1-0) at Plymouth (0-1): I was surprised to see the Rockies at least put up some points on East Noble last week while getting romped by the Knights, but Kokomo had a pretty impressive win over a strong Western program last week. I expect the WildKats to have a victorious bus ride back home down US 31. Kokomo by 14 NorthWood (1-0) at Logansport (1-0): Kudos to the Panthers and Berries for making this work on such short notice! I was looking forward to seeing how NorthWood battled against East Noble. Logansport had an impressive win over Peru in week 1 following their surprise sectional championship last year, but I expect the Panthers to make the most of this long road trip. NorthWood by 8 South Bend Clay (0-1) at Goshen (1-0): Talk about a soft non-conference schedule for Goshen. The Redskinshawks beat little brother Fairfield last week (as they should) and take on a Colonial squad that lost to Osceola Grace (who?) by 5 touchdowns last week. The Redhawks will be feeling good at 2-0 before facing a murderous row in their NLC schedule of Mishawaka-NorthWood-Concord-Warsaw-Northridge the next 5 weeks. Goshen by 31 South Bend St. Joseph (1-0) at Northridge (1-0): Both teams coming off shutouts in week 1, but the Raiders look to be the better overall team. Northridge shut out the Indians last year 42-0... can they do it again and have back-to-back shutouts to start the season? We will see. Northridge by 21 Warsaw (1-0) at Michigan City (1-0): Could be the best game on the slate this week for the conference. The Tigers were mighty impressive in their victory last week and limited Dublin Coffman's big plays after the first snap. Will that continue? Big plays are what KILLED Warsaw in last year's game against Michigan City. The Wolves dismantled a down South Bend Riley program. Playing up at Ames Field will also make a difference. Michigan City by 3 Wawasee (0-1) at West Noble (0-1): A complete dud by the Warriors last week against a Tippy Valley squad that I do not believe is 5 touchdowns better than them. Wawasee will have to fix the mistakes this week if they want to avoid being embarrassed by backyard 3A neighbor West Noble. I am not sure they will. West Noble by 6

  26. I’m just happy to not see “Temptation” show up at the top of my Gridiron Digest page for the last 2 days. Not that I have an issue with “Temptation”. I likely agree with him more often than not. Still…just how much $ do you guys need to make this thing stick? Not being disrespectful. Serious question. Some of us here might have a Shekel or so to help (not myself of course…..not that I’d admit to it, anyway).

  28. The mans elevator doesn't go to the top floor. keep in mind this is my original post that he thought was overly disrespectful: "Elkhart vs Mishawaka: The Cavemen have a way staying in ANY game with their offense. If Elkhart was full strength I'd give them the slight edge. But with the blows EH has taken this season already, Cavemen walk away with a W.". I don't know what he is talking about half the time and the other half I wish I didn't.

  29. Who got shut out last year?? Since when is scoring 28 points a shut out?? Apparently you know very little about Cavemen football... You really think a Mishawaka team will back down after getting smacked a few times. At least this so called expert knows what a shut out is...

  33. Common sense states that Westfield is a far superior program to Merrillville based on what happened last year and what both teams return. Just like I stated with the HCC, no one will, nor should, take any 6A program outside of Central Indiana seriously until they win head to head once the weather turns cold.

  35. FTA: Elden has long stated that he had a complicated relationship with the album cover. However, as noted by Variety, he’s recreated it several times, posing in the water for 10th, 17th, 20th, and 25th anniversaries. He's 30 now, probably tired of living in his parent's basement and must not want to have to get a REAL JOB.......

  36. Knowing Mike Kirschner, there was some technical or logistical reason for this issue. Likely, as others have said, the game film would have been from last year since they didn't scrimmage. Mike's a first-class guy and doesn't play petty games.

  38. Frankton was scrappy on defense. Looked like they had some hard nosed kids. Offensively they have a long ways to go though. If Frankton can slow down Dollar for Lapel then it could be a decent game, if not then it will be a long night.

  39. https://amgreatness.com/2021/08/20/uks-parliament-holds-joe-biden-in-contempt-as-france-and-britain-forced-to-rescue-citizens-trapped-in-kabul/ UK’s Parliament Holds Joe Biden in Contempt as France and Britain Forced to Rescue Citizens Trapped in Kabul By Debra Heine August 20, 2021 The Biden administration’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan and the desperate situation in Kabul has angered U.S. allies, leaving them scrambling to evacuate their citizens and the Afghans who supported them during the 20 year war. The United Kingdom’s Parliament on Wednesday held Joe Biden in contempt for Afghan debacle, with one veteran MP saying the U.S. abandoned its Afghan allies and disregarded their sacrifices. Tom Tugendhat, a British Army veteran of the Afghanistan war and the Conservative chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, blasted Biden for his criticism of the Afghan National Army and said it was “shameful” to blame Afghanistan’s fighting force for the Taliban’s takeover. After Afghanistan fell to the Taliban, Biden said, “American troops cannot and should not be fighting in a war, and dying in a war, that Afghan forces are not willing to fight for themselves.” “To see their commander in chief call into question the courage of men I fought with—to claim that they ran—is shameful,” he said. “Those who have never fought for the colors they fly should be careful about criticizing those who have,” Tugendhat added. While American troops remain at the Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKAIA ), Great Britain and France, are conducting military operations to evacuate their citizens trapped in Kabul behind the web of Taliban checkpoints lining the route to the airport. Great Britain earlier this week deployed an additional 300 troops to Kabul specifically to extract trapped British nationals. “France and the U.K. are having their troops leave the lines of the Kabul airport to help evacuate their citizens,” tweeted House Minority Kevin McCarthy. “Why has President Biden not directed the same to save stranded Americans?” One British soldier broke down in tears during an interview with CNN reporter Clarissa Ward, telling her that he will suffer from PTSD from the horrific events of the past week. The Taliban have been beating people in the streets and blocking access to the Kabul airport, contrary to their promises to the U.S. government. During remarks from the White House on Friday, Biden boasted that there are now over 6,000 American troops on the ground providing “runway security” at the airport. “This is one of the largest, most difficult airlifts in history, and the only country in the world capable of projecting this much power on the far side of the world with this degree of precision is the United States of America,” he said proudly. Update: According to foreign policy/national security reporter Tom Rogan, a U.S. general has tried to pressure a British counterpart to stop conducting rescue operations outside of the airport perimeter because it’s making the Biden Regime look bad. Can you imagine the explosion of press if President Trump were to be "In Contempt" from the UK? BTW - Read the last paragraph - The British military is embarrassing our troops?
