The absolute easiest way, in my opinion, for those that are technologically challenged, is to buy a Fire Stick or Roku. Download the IHSAAtv app and bam. It's on your TV. Casting is simple, but your TV has to be right. Your phone has to be right. You have to know how to wireless connect them to each other, etc.

That's from our facebook post. There are so many misconceptions about this that we thought a clarification was necessary. We are still answering questions, but generally fans were unaware that the contact with Bally paid the hefty costs of production. So for many years, it was free. The bigger picture is the death of linear television on cable. Channel 13, 6, 4 and others simply can't sell enough advertising to remove network programming and substitute these ad revenues with local sports sponsors. That's why you don't see games on 13, 6 and 4 during the regular season and tournament. Even ESPN is going to a subscription plan anticipating the death of cable companies.

My predictions: 5A - North @ Castle. Harrell has North -3, but I question whether North can win two big games in a row. McCool is a tough RB, so I'll go with Castle 24-14. 4A - Reitz @ Memorial. Either way the winner gets their a$$e$ run through the Ringer the next week by East Central. Harrell has Reitz -14. I'd love to go with my heart and pick my Tigers, but Reitz has too many weapons and our O is limited. Reitz 35-13. 3A - VL @ Gibson Southern. Harrell has GS -4. Both teams have some explosive, experienced players. I'll take GS 35-34 in OT - VL goes for 2, GS has 12 on the field, stuffs the play and the refs miss it, which is the 2023 formula for a PAC team to beat an SIAC team..... Good luck to all teams.

Due to the bankruptcy of Bally Sports, future telecasts of IHSAA state championships will be exclusively as a pay-per-view presentation on IHSAAtv.org. 46 states preceded the IHSAA in charging for viewing. Additionally, the IHSAA is one of the few that still allow free-to-watch presentations of the sectional and regional levels. Common questions: Q: Why don't local TV stations air the finals? A: The cost to produce the finals for television using advertising as the revenue source isn't feasible. No TV station or regional sports network came forward to cover these costs. Advertising dollars are escaping conventional media such as television stations, radio and newspapers migrating to the web and social media. Q: Where does the money go? A: The cost to produce a broadcast quality production for sports previously covered by Bally exceeds $200,000. Those costs will need to covered before any distribution to schools or the association. However, the IHSAA provides over $2,000,000 in tournament gate proceeds back to the schools yearly. This year, rights fees paid by broadcasters are also being given back to the schools. The amount given back to the schools exceeds the total operational budget of the IHSAA. Q: How can I watch? A: There are several options. The best option is purchasing a Roku, Firestick or Apple TV device and downloading the free IHSAAtv app from their various app stores. I was in Bloomington from the Fall of 1974 to the Spring of 1977, probably the best 3 seasons for IU basketball. Scott May was the best player in college basketball. Benson a dominant force in the middle. But the engine that made the whole thing run was Quinn Buckner.

NV lost to Fountain Central who Park Tudor just smashed in the 1st round... All I need to see for that one.... Sectional Championships should have 6 near locks... The 2 most interesting games are NJ v Triton - even though the 1st meeting tells me otherwise, everyone here thinks it will be closer, I'm intrigued... and ND @ Milan, not a game people will be interested in statewide but should be the tightest game of the 8 in my opinion, toss up but advantage Milan. The 3rd most interesting game for 1A is actually a 2A game oddly enough! Eastern @ Bluffton features 2 teams that were beaten by Carroll and AC and with the highly anticipated Regional rematch between Carroll and AC next week and with them having no common opponents I think this game could be the only tell leading up to that all important Regional Final next week in Flora(Carroll)! Winner has the fast track to Lucas Oil.

Great points. Respect to Martinsville for being very aggressive and passionate. That is good coaching and execution. EC had plenty of penalties to inhibit themselves and aid Artesians, but Martinsville's play may have had something to do with that. It was a real mullet battle for awhile. Martinsville just didn't have enough RC's and moon pies or piss and vinegar to keep the pressure on after that fifth EC td late first half. Feisty but overmatched.

That will buff right out. Seriously though, I'm glad no one was injured.

So because NW lost to 6A (and potential sectional champ) Warsaw, and lost by less than a score (and could lose tomorrow) to 4A #9 Northridge...the community should throw the coaching staff under a buggy based on the preseason predictive abilities of random people? Bold strategy Cotton...

I don't think the community has or will loose faith in the program. While NorthWood has always had a strong football program, since Andrews has been here, there has been a lot of growth in the lower levels. 20 - 30 years ago, there was not a youth program in the NorthWood community. Most families had to look elsewhere to get their kids involved in football...Bremen at one time had a great youth program. In my opinion, the football program has grown under Andrews. There never used to be so much community / family involvement. I think that has to do with him being from the community and knowing everyone. With that, this year they brought in more people that have long standing connections with the community. NorthWood just hasn't gotten over that sectional hump since we went to State a few years ago. Northridge has had their number the last two years, however, there were "other" issues that lost us those games. That is reflected in the regular season scores against them. Before Northridge it was Leo and Angola...those 4 years they lost sectional games with a combined point total of 14 points. Way back it was St. Joe. In regard to the schemes that NorthWood runs....that's everywhere. No more are the ground and pound days with two backs featured in the NLC...gone also are the days of 4 big fellas on the D line holding up O linemen getting to linebackers. This year is an example of adapting. Early in the year, the defensive scheme just wasn't working (IE the Northridge and Warsaw games) and they have made some modifications (IE the Mishawaka game). I strongly feel as if NorthWood has the team this year to make a deep run. With all of that said...I don't think there are many teams in the entire norther part of the State (not including Chatard...they belong in the South) that have the football stability year in year out. NorthWood will be fine this year...and the years to follow and I think Andrews will be welcomed with the program for probably as long as he would like. Just one persons opinions / perspective.

I agree that both would have a shot against PT with their styles of play. But, do not underestimate PT talent even with their strength of schedule. Neither team has seen a QB with the talent of Gordon.

I remember listening to him, in his Tri-Central era, Saturday mornings on a Kokomo radio station coaches show for area coaches. What a truly inspirational man ! From the moment he spoke, I wanted to put the pads on and play for him at my advanced age. Totally changed my thinking of him from what you read on this forum, thats for sure ! He will be missed !!! 1. It all depends on what the head coach knew and when. Both are not above punishment but.. a. If the head coach knew and the university was FUNDING these trips then this should be an egregious level 1/2 violation. No amount of bias can be inserted here on my part. b. If the staffer went “rogue” and was doing this on his own, then he should be fired immediately and a level 3 violation should be the penalty, maybe more for Harbaugh and/or the coaching staff. I know many will laugh at the notion of option B but come on. If this dude truly was roaming the sidelines in East Lansing (still unconfirmed) there is no way that Harbaugh or any of the higher-ups at Michigan would condone him doing so and sign off on it. Hell, McElwain (CMU’s head coach) was on the UM staff midway through Harbaugh’s tenure and knows Stalions. Option B is going to be Michigan’s play and it will outrage many. 2. The HC is the CEO and should know what each member of his staff is doing at all times PROFESSIONALLY. If you look up Stalions’ history, he is a lifetime Michigan “Superfan” and cut his teeth volunteering to get a job on the staff for years. He wrote a 600+ page manifesto about taking the reins of Michigan football himself. Guy has a few loose screws and is fairly delusional. Harbaugh/the university will pay the price for this, it’s just a matter of how steep. I don’t see anything happening this year. Now, it’s open season on Michigan football as the narrative has been painted and the pitchforks are out. Many will gloss right over my statements above because they want blood. The way this story has been painted nationally makes villains out of Michigan and while I am not insinuating that they deserve pity or sympathy, they do deserve due process. I mean, in your own article linked above 1/3 of the coaches interviewed admitted they employed a “sign stealer” on their staff…and that’s assuming the other 2/3 were being honest. This type of behavior is likely more widespread that folks want to admit it you or I even imagine. It’s an outdated rule.

I would definately substitute Fishers for Crown Point based on SOS. Crown Point is a complete unknown at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if Penn or Warsaw beat them.

I definitely hope Adams Central wins it all because I don’t want to see Lutheran beat them three years in a row. However, I’m not feeling very confident it’ll happen. I hope I’m wrong but Lutheran just looks too good.
