Didn't offend me at all. My initial point and statement was driven by the fact that Jasper started running the football more in the 2nd half of that game, and has ever since. Not really a big deal. And the Courier...............don't get me started!!

I suppose that's relative. We recently did an escape room. One of the clues was using the Pathagorean Theorem, we needed the length of a line on the way from the ceiling to the floor on the opposite side of the room. I deduced that the room was 9' tall and we found the length of the wall in another clue. The combination of a lock was C²-10,000. We ended up having to get a clue, because it wouldn't work. We asked what the height of the room was and they said 9'. I explained that we had done it repeatedly using 108² and the combo didn't work. She said in a rather condescending tone, sir, 9'=106". I'm like I'll take you're 106, but I'm the wrong dude to argue measurements with, I'm the guy who eyeballed this thing and correctly identified it was 9' tall. So @Irishman, given the information you just read, what do you reckon the odds of you getting a measurement on Friday night are? :)

In regards to Jasper joining the SIAC - to each their own I suppose. But the fact they "thought" the PAC would not provide enough competition is just comical. Maybe they dominate in a lot of "non marquee" sports...but in football, wrestling, basketball, and baseball, they ain't winning the PAC most years. Just sayin....but hey, you take those hour drive on a Thursday night and the awesome revenue gates you'll pull in when you play Bosse/Harrison/Central on a Friday night in football as opposed to SHS/HH/Gibson...brilliant decision.

South Newton may not be as fortunate with the athletes that step on the field but from my experience the last couple years of playing those teams Coach Durham has made them extremely respectable and hardworking men and to me that is what really matters on down in their lives rather than how many HIGH SCHOOL football games they won!

Our crew had the LC-Portage Game that day. The Chesterton-Andrean game was still going on late in the 4th quarter when we came out of the tunnel. Andrean was leading, but Chesterton was in the red zone. There was a play right at the pylon, and the Chesterton runner fumbled. The ball hit the pylon. The crew incorrectly awarded the ball to Chesterton at the 1 yd. line. They punched it in on the next play and won the game. As the Andrean team was coming off the field, their coach Ivan Zimmerman (one of my absolute favorite coaches of all time) saw me and made a beeline straight at me. Before he could say a word, I held up my hand and said “Coach, I didn’t see the play clearly.” He thought for a moment and then said “Hypothetically, if the ball is fumbled and hits the pylon, who does it belong to?” I replied, “Hypothetically, that would be a touchback, and the defense would get possession at their 20 ... where they could run out the clock if this was, hypothetically, in the last minute of the game.” He just said “thanks” and headed off to the locker room.

Thanks for commenting, I was beginning to think I was the only one who saw it. Thought maybe it was my bias as a fan showing. Oh well, we will know in a few weeks if it’s just a down year for the conference, or if our injuries kept us from our full potential, or we make a habit of running up the score, OR if you really can build a team in the middle of a cornfield. Personally I’ll take JQWL, btownqbcoach, and others assessments as accurate until proven otherwise.

As someone who was on here from around 2005 to 2010.. Then again from 2012 to 2014... And who would read periodically from that point on. I saw a lot, easy for you to say cause all youd do is turn a blind eye. Its fine. As far as I can tell other then fine print and some other posters. The rest of you still haven't grown up from the last time I was on here.

Note to self: It is perfectly fine to humiliate your players as long as you win the next game. (Not true) Instead of telling players to wear their jerseys inside out, how about working on an offense and being able to execute in games! On top of that, try to get players committed and willing to work hard every play! I feel that this is a more logical approach to losing a game and preparing for the next!

DT, just last year you were calling on Penn to go Independent and adopt a Midwest schedule. Now, you're flipping the script and using the past 5 years as a data point? I'm not buying it. You're over-reacting based on lopsided losses to Valpo and Homewood-Flossmoor. I will agree though that Penn should look west towards the DAC, which is the same belief I had last year.
